You NEVER want to have to call a plumber but if you have to call one, call Bill he was so caring and helpful on Mothers Day a Sunday go figure , when so many other plumbers that I called were Out Of Town for Mothers Day , Not Bill and Fabian , one of Bilks plumbers . So last night on a Saturday night around 10:15 PM my smaller bathroom decided to leak into my down Stairs's neighbors bathroom , they text me at 10:30 pm last night to let me know so I could have my water turned off to prevent any further damage . I had Brian Carson from Metzger Plumbing out to work on my plumbing problems twice in this past month. Brian is an absolute gem. His understanding of plumbing techniques and processes is excellent. I understand why he is a mentor to apprentice plumbers. Initially, he came out to deal with a broken 3-Inch drain line. His sense of urgency was reassuring as he and an apprentice identified the location of the problem and took the necessary steps to remedy the mess. While repairing that initial problem, he discovered an even bigger problem...my water heater had been leaking and had caused related damage to the closet and adjoining room's drywall and flooring. He was instrumental in getting a company out to dry out the area and they called-in three other contractors (remediation team for demo and reconstruction, my Insurance adjuster and a hazard testing agent to take material samples for lab testing for mold or asbestos---there was none) Brian kept in touch with the other workers and as soon as the water heater closet was dry and restored, he was out the very next day to get my new water heater installed. (Living without hot water is very rough.) Here, I have to add an additional comment to Brian's skills and attitudes which probably saved my life or, at least, protected my health. After he completed the water heater installation and hook-ups, he was checking to see that the vent on top of the water heater was properly venting up through my roof to allow dangerous gasses to escape from the closet where it was installed. He was puzzled that the vent exit seemed blocked. This required him to make an extra trip back to his office to get a long ladder to permit him to access my roof to see what the problem might be? It became apparent that roofers (who had replaced my roof a couple of weeks before) had pushed down and closed the vent cap to my water heater! It took significant force for Brian to raise the vent cap back to an open position. Just imagine what danger I would have been in if he just ignored the vent cap...he didn't do anything to it, after all. But Brian is conscientious and knows that water heaters MUST BE VENTED, so he uncovered and remedied the blockage problem. I am truly grateful for his character and thoroughness. read more

We were really in a pinch. Our washer's drain kept backing up every time we ran a load. We called Hero Router on Friday of Labor Day weekend. I tried to snake it myself but did not know where the clean out was. Obviously the Hero Guy did not know where the clean out was because he wanted to start opening walls up and charge us thousands. On Labor Day I called Bill Metzker Plumbing, hoping for an appointment on Tuesday. The dispatch lady was super nice and was able to send a plumber out to help. She sent Monte, a very knowledgeable and professional technician. He quick spotted the clean out access behind the washer. Monte gave me a very competitive under $500.00 to resolve this pesky clog. We did not have to open up walls or spend thousands of dollars for a needless inconvenience. Jacob has been absolutely amazing. First call out was in November. My sump pump was not working. I had no idea how old it was since it was there when I purchased the house. After working on it for a bit, he informed that the pump would need to be replaced, which I had already considered. He ordered a new one and came out a week later to replace it. After the heavy rains during the holidays, I noticed that although the pump was working, water was not draining. Jacob came and after a considerable amount of work, he was able to fix the drain pipe that had been originally installed incorrectly. All is now working as it should. Thanks Jacob! We called them to look at our water heater and for the first 20 min all they talked about was needing to upgrade our soft water system and go tankless.... We hired Bill Metzger plumbing to repair a leak in our toilet. They charged us $300 worked on the toilet and it seemed to be fixed however later that day there was still a leak. We thought because they had such a good rating on Yelp we had hired a company we could trust. We hesitated to call them back to complete the job because we no longer trusted this company. Before I get into the details I want to shout out Evan, Jenri, Brian, and the amazing apprentices that did the hands on work. 10/10 pleasant, knowledgeable, patient, funny, honest, empathetic. What was the first awful emergency we had as first time homeowners could have been so much worse if we didn't land in the hands of Bill's awesome team. I called multiple places at 9pm on a Sunday and nobody answered/had available technicians--but Bill did! It was very cool to call a number and have the company's namesake be the one who answers AND be able to diagnose the flooding, site unseen. We thought it was one thing and he knew immediately it was a blockage. He told us what to do to stop the flooding that night and sent his guy Evan over first thing the next morning. They were always punctual, always arrived within the estimated window. Evan spent that first day getting to know our antiquated plumbing system and explaining the obstacles ahead while trying a few things to clear the blockage and map our pipes. He knew exactly what to do, how to explain it, and the team and tools he'd need to resolve it. We had tree roots grow into our sewer line and once he and jenri got to work they found a solution. I should also mention it's been pouring rain and they worked in our front yard digging the smallest possible hole to access the exact spot while minimizing damage to our home and landscape. They successfully coordinated with Dig Alert to get all the utilities companies out here to sign off and keep the project moving. t wasn't cheap, but it wasn't a small job either. I know we got an honest price for honest work and are happy to have our water restored. We're in a better position than when we called them because a) functional plumbing but b) they lined our pipes to avoid a similar situation in the future (thanks Brian!) While a few of the guys were cleaning up, someone came inside and handled a few smaller plumbing issues we've been having as well (low water pressure in one sink, slow drainage in a bath). It's great to know we won't need a plumber for a while, but when we do we'll def be calling Bill again. read more

We had commercial toilets that resulted in hammering (multiple thudding sounds) after flushing. I had two companies come over. the first gave what seemed to be an excessive price to change our building pressure regulator and in context, not solve our hammering problem. Bill Metzger Plumbing sent a Jason out. As scheduled on a Saturday morning. I received a picture of our service tech in a message about 20 minutes before he arrived. He worked hard and efficiently to resolve our issue. He also located some other things that needed to be resolved (expansion tank by the water heater and some missing shut off valves). He clearly identified and explained the issues and gave prices before beginning work on the items. In addition, the valves inside our toilets needed to be replaced to solve the hammering issue. All of the internal problems were resolved for about half the price the first quote to change the building pressure regulator. And our hammering sound was resolved. It turned out that our pressure regulator also needed to be replaced, which was completed for much less than the original quote. In all, all of our work, including the replacement of the pressure regulator was done for LESS than the first company quoted for just the pressure regulator. Needless to say, we will be calling Bill Metzger plumbing in the future. read more

Fast and to the point. The person showed up on time. Got the job done swiftly and even gave a quote on a few other things I needed done.

Had them out to replace a water heater. From a service standpoint they were good. I just feel like I was probably taken advantage of a bit from a price standpoint. I repeatedly asked if there was a lower cost option or if they were sure the price was correct (high 4s for a replacement of a 75 gallon heater.) They kept saying it was correct so I moved forward with them. After the fact it still didn't seem right to me so I got 3 additional quotes, for essentially the same tank with same warranty on parts, same warranty on labor, from local plumbers with similar reviews and they all quoted in the low to high 3s. Even the highest competitive bid was more than 20% less expensive. My lesson learned is I should have got additional bids (but when you have a family who needs to shower you feel rushed.) So... overall giving a 3 star. If you get competitive bids and you are happy with the number they give you I suspect you'll be happy with the work. If you don't have time to get competitive bids I'd probably try a different company next time. read more
