I wanted to secure private lessons and his school seemed perfect, offering 20 min privates. I was "yes'd" during the orientation process and explicitly said that I was not interested in anything zoom related or group. Simply targeting 20 min privates and happy to pay. My payment info was taken from me and we attended two group lessons after the main instructor conducted an evaluation on zoom (even though i was told this would be in person) and insisted that my son should be in group. Group was fine- we didn't get much out of this. Following Xmas break, i reviewed my banking statement and saw that i had 2 109 dollar charges in one month (we went to the school twice for 20 min group lessons). Solid mark up! I disputed the charges and had a conversation with the director of the school where she told me that i would not be charged until we re-review my son and find a private option that's not zoom. Since the school went to zoom lessons and because my son is young and won't get much from zoom sessions, we opted to wait out the "covid season." Just saw that I was charged 109 dollars again.. so that's $350 dollars for 2 20 min group music sessions. Lesson learned on my end.. pay as you go is the only option moving forward. I have since disputed all charges with my bank and will re-visit at home privates down the line. I am sure this is a wonderful school for kids who are older and engaged in music but my personal experience as a parent requesting a simple private and consistent unauthorized charges was not ideal .

I've had a wonderful experience with Rachel. She teaches technique, theory, and repertoire, and she has really helped me develop my ability to listen for the nuances in my own playing--legato sound, voicing, tone, etc. Rachel tailors her instruction to each individual student, and I have grown a lot, musically, as a result. As a student of Rachel's I have participated in the New England Piano Teachers' Association's adult recital as well as the Boston Amateur Piano Competition. I am so glad that I found Rachel, and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a piano teacher!

I all but gave up on the thing until my friends told me about Cranky's. For a very reasonable fee, Greg worked on the frets, tremolo, tuning heads, saddles, and gave it a thorough cleaning. She now plays BETTER than in 1995, and I'm happy to report has taken its place as my main axe again! As far as I'm concerned, this is the only place that I will trust with my dearest guitars. After the first class, I messaged to say that my toddler didn't enjoy the class so could we please get a refund? The founder asked us to stay for 3 classes to see if my toddler would adjust, but every class my toddler was asking to leave. When I asked for a refund, it was granted. So be careful if signing up your child for language they are not familiar as my experience has been that they won't enjoy it.
