I have been practicing Bikram yoga for over 10 years. And I have practiced as I've traveled all over the US. And I say this with all honesty. It's hard to find a studio as good as this one. Not only is the studio clean and nice. It's the instructors, so knowledgeable and helpful. They truly know what they are doing. They have our best interest at heart. They have over the last year incorporated other classes besides Bikram, like inferno hot Pilates, and variations of the classic Bikram 26&2 class. Those I cannot speak to because I'm a classic Bikram gal. It those classes seem to be very popular and full! So others must enjoy them. I see others reviews that put down how hot it is and how rigid the instructors can be. It IS hot, it's supposed to be. There a reason for everything they do. Trust the process. When I practice Bikram regularly not only does my body get fit, it's detoxifies and my skin looks younger! I'm in my 50's and no one believes me. I feel like when I go to Bikram yoga I get a work out, I am stretched, I get a facial, and I detoxify. All in 90 min. What else can do that all in 90 minutes!! Nothing. If you're on the fence about it try it at least 5 classes. Then make your decision. Don't do one class. My best friend made me try it years ago. He told me try it 5 times before I quit. I called him after my first class and said "I hate Bikram and I hate you for making me promise this!" After class 2 I didn't hate it. After class 3 I liked it after class 4 I was hooked. I am so happy that i found Bikram Yoga Tracy. I started about a month ago and i love it. The teachers all have excellent ways of giving advice to help you achieve the posture correctly. If you are new to yoga great this place if for you... if your like me and had about a year of prior experience going to bikram yoga then this place is also for you... The classes hardly are ever all the way full so you don't have to worry about classes filling up. Was very impressed with how spacious and well designed this place us. Women's locker room was spacious and has 6 shower stalls. My first 2 classes was with Tessa and she made my experience quite inspirational! I wasn't sure if it was time for me to try again after my Auto Accident that I am still recuperating from especially the Migraines that I will suddenly get. Was especially worried about this because of the heat but, she guided me through both of my classes and so my healing begins. TY Tessa for the Motivation...and the personal touch in helping me. Yes it's "hot" in there! The heat is allowing your body to warm up and be pliable. I have 2 herniated disks, I do Bikram yoga 4-5 days per week, NO meds or doctor visits. My first class, I swore I'd never return, well it's been over 10yrs. i tried bikram hot yoga for the first time yesterday. i have to tell you i was a bit nervous to do it. I've wanted to for a while , just didn't do it ! i walked into the studio and was very impressed . super clean and very inviting . i was greeted and checked in . they showed me around the studio and where i needed to get ready . i entered the class and was hit by the heat lol ! needless to say the class was so amazing . my teacher was awesome and kept me engaged the whole entire time ! i am def going back as soon as possible . today i thought i would be worn down , but just the opposite ! today i feel better than i have in a very long time ! check this place out , you won't be sorry :) read more

A beautiful and safe studio. Very clean restrooms, changing area, showers -and lockers. The facility is locked during class, as well, which I personally appreciate! This is an intense class, as it is done in a heated room, but our instructor kept the room moving along with her continual coaching dialogue. I was pleased with the heat in detoxifying my body after Christmas over-indulgence! Since I'm not local to the area, I will only be able to return while visiting, but I feel this studio would be a great place to take up permanent practice! I've been to some great bikram studios, mainly in Las Vegas, but the studio in Tracy is by far the biggest, most spacious school I've had the pleasure of practicing bikram yoga at. I expected the classes to be packed, but there is plenty of room for this location to grow. The temperature & humidity are great, the instructors are knowledgeable, especially when it comes to what postures help what organs, which are the facts I love to know, the studio is clean & the bathrooms are secure. I am currently challenging myself to do 30 classes in 30 days & thus far, I am on track, setting myself up for success. The staff is available to answer all of my questions about postures after class & know me by name since I'm new to the school, which is quite a wonderful touch & customizes my daily, personal experience with this bikram yoga studio. Without a doubt, I would recommend this studio: it has helped me with my physical transformation, but has added extra benefits to ALL areas of my life; too many to list! This business doesn't even deserve 1 star rating. My wife (Sham) & I just ended our membership which spanned for last 4 years. The 3 reasons for ending our membership: a) the madam owner who is also a instructor had developed egoistic habit of intimidating members with rude, mean, & demeaning comments such as "If you don't like my class, just don't come when I'm teaching" & "You like to be yelled by a woman?" etc. This used to happen when I took additional breaks during class due to fatigue. She makes those comments in the name of motivating & helping students but targeting minorities only. I initially shrugged away those comments but it had gone from bad to worse. b) last week a instructor who has a very high pitch & annoying tone embarrassed a female student by not allowing her to use the restroom & made very culturally sensitive comment during class. c) My wife was also embarrassed by this same instructor for wearing perfume last week. She was never made aware of this preference during the last 4 years. When we approached the owners to resolve these issues, they flipped the story & gave us the ultimatum to apologize to this rude & unprofessional instructor or cancel our membership. Their reason for this action is that I raised my voice when I demanded for accountability & corrective action in their studio (without breaking any law). We canceled our membership. Now 3 takeaways: 1. We have just bought a inflatable HOT YOGA DOME (fits in our apt. room) 2. Joined the amazing PURE FORM gym next door. 3. Attending single hot yoga classes at different studios for $18 in Tracy. We are now saving $$$ & having more fun. Need to verify this story? : 1) Ask about BYT's reputation with their business neighbors. 2) I can share official emails, text messages & witness statements pertaining to this incident. 3) Watch BIKRAM documentary on NETFLIX (wish we had watched it earlier than last night). Please do not go to the 5 pm class. The lady that teaches this class is like a drill sergeant. Nothing relaxing or calming about her. I came here to learn and feel more one with my body. This lady speaks so fast it's like we're at a car auction, she constantly belittles you throughout the class room and not once did she do any of the poses I had to look around at other students to see what to do. She just stands there and tells you what to do while doing absolutely nothing. I don't expect her to hold every pose as she needs to watch her students but at least attempt to do it once to show us how it's suppose to look. But overall I would say her attitude is the worst thing about it. She needs to relax a bit in her teaching style, speak in a softer and more relax tone. We are here to relax and heal. read more

Absolutely 5 stars. When I'm having a lame day, I go to Bikram Yoga Tracy and 90 minutes later I emerge feeling happy and capable. Bikram Yoga Tracy was a huge part of how I was able to lose 15 pounds and gain the ability to bust out 7 push ups like it's nothing (before I started doing bikram yoga regularly I could do 0 push ups, maybe half). I love Bikram Yoga Tracy so much that you will see me in there at least 3 times a week. The more I go, the more I wish I could go every day. I've been attending class at this studio for 2 years or so and practicing Bikram on and off for 4 years. The studio is beautiful. Despite the gallons of sweat that has been shed, it smells neutral and feels clean. The owners take the time to decorate for every holiday which shows just how much they care about their place. There are locker rooms with spa showers, and lockers and cubbies for you to keep your belongings during class. You can't take your stuff in the hot room, but I've never worried about the safety of my things. The instructors are wonderful. They expertly deliver the dialogue each class while motivating you to try each posture with 100% of your ability in the right way. They are always encouraging no matter how well you are able to do each of the postures and helpful when pointing out what you can do to improve. I tell all of my friends that everyone should try Bikram yoga at least once in their life because there's nothing else like it. You'll try to get your body into positions you've never thought of and it's rewarded to learn something so difficult. Tips and Pointers: - Take your shoes off when you enter the studio and leave them under the benches in the lobby. - Leave all your stuff in the locker room. It's a good idea to put your cell phone on silent because sometimes a ring is loud enough to hear in the hot room. - Be quiet in the hot room. It's a little more acceptable to have a quick whisper with your neighbor before class starts, but after class there's no talking. - Bring plenty of water. I love my Hydroflask that I bought on site. Don't be like me and use a glass container until it breaks in the locker room. - You can bring your own mat and beach towel or rent them there. You only need one towel in the room because wiping your sweat is discouraged. read more

This studio is beyond a luxury yoga studio. This is a health sanctuary. The sensory deprivation tanks took me to a whole new level of meditation. I've been severely disabled since mid July and my experience here has been the most beneficial for my psyche hands down. Hi there! I'm 9 years old and I practice Bikram Yoga since I was 7, I love the Tracy studio it's my home studio now, super nice showers! Everything is just awesome! I learned to stay in the hot room for the 90 min, it's hard but you can do it if you are strong. My mom tells me that it takes discipline and inner strength to develop this mental stability and strength, I feel very proud that I don't have to leave the room anymore, when I was younger I had to catch my breath and sometimes go pee, but I'm older now and it only is getting much funner :) this is my dads account and mon allowed me to write this...just go try it, if I can do this, you can too! read more

I have finally found a BIkram Yoga studio in Tracy and it's awesome! Super clean studio, easy online class scheduler, a great selection of classes daily, amazing changing room, multiple restrooms, tons of parking, lots of studio space, a filtered water fountain right outside of the studio and very friendly staff. I've only practiced Bikram in San Francisco (at a studio I loved) and wasn't sure what Tracy had to offer. Bikram Yoga Tracy is doing it right! This studio is doing a fabulous job showing the good people of Tracy what Bikram Yoga is all about and how it's properly done. I'm excited for my next class. BTW, to the woman who rated this studio one star because she was one minute late - that's your bad lady. You can't fault the studio if you're late. You shouldn't be showing up at the studio right when class is scheduled to start anyways. I'm glad that this studio abides to a no-late-tolerance policy. Latecomers disrupt the class. Especially for a class like yoga, one person coming in late can throw off the entire class. read more

I have waited to write a review until I had experienced all of the instructors at Bikram Yoga of Tracy. I have to say that each class builds on the last. There is something new that I learn each time I go to class. Each time I go there are new students in class. Every instructor takes time to really talk to the newbies. I think each instructor is very patient and kind. The studio is clean, open, and modern. The staff at the desk is friendly. I really love it there. For the past 2 years I have put on about 10 pounds. I tried cardio, regular yoga classes and walking. Nothing seemed to be working. Finally I decided to try Bikram because of my daughter. After 3 days I lost 5 pounds. My appetite now has substantially reduced. I don't crave junk food anymore. The first day class was a huge challenge. I came to this studio after coming across their website online. I'm only in Tracy for a few weeks, but I figured I'd give it a try anyways. This was my first encounter with Yoga of any sort, and the instructor was very encouraging. At the beginning of class he made sure to explain the parts that might be a little "weird" for someone who's never done yoga before, made sure to let me know about any important details along the way, and even demonstrated certain poses when I got confused. This practice has changed my life and body and it was so nice finding something to continue my practice while Home in Stockton for the holidays as there is not a legitimate Bikram studio there. There are some that advertise as such but if the room is not 105 degrees F and 40% humidity and 90 minutes for 26 poses it is not true Bikram and the results are exponentially different. I practice at this studio on an average of five days a week. I love it! The facility is always clean and the staff is professional and kind. The students who attend are serious about their practice. It's not a fashion show or a look at me type atmosphere. We come to work; to push ourselves to our breaking points in order to achieve a deeper more beneficial practice and the health benefits that correspond. I have read a couple of negative reviews in regards to being told, "You must remain in the room the entire time or do not come." I have NEVER heard an instructor use these words to articulate the "stay in the room" policy. Please understand, the instructors are trying to motivate you. They want you to succeed in your Bikram Yoga practice. If you come with the mindset that when things get too uncomfortable you're leaving, then why come? Why waste your money? It's Bikram yoga, it will undoubtedly get too uncomfortable. The whole point is to be in a fiery hot room doing yoga for ninety minutes- yeah, it's difficult but come expecting that. Don't come expecting to quit. Being told, "Whatever you do, stay in the room," motivates you to press through and achieve. The staff is well trained and great at consoling/assisting students who are at the brink of walking out of the room. They utilize various breathing and positioing techniques to help the student relax and bring their heart rate down. They then place the student in a recovery position (a resting pose) and have them stay there until they are ready to try again or until the end of class for some (without condemnation). The instructors remain attentive to struggling students for the duration of the class, keeping a watchful eye on them checking for signs of distress. In one extreme case, I saw an instructor sit a gentleman by the door and crack it some so he could benefit from a cooler climate. Once he recovered, he jumped right back into it! At Bikram Yoga Tracy, they want everyone to benefit regardless of their level of experience. The struggling students who stay in the room leave the class feeling proud knowing they accomplished something difficult. Now don't get me wrong, if it is medically necessary for someone to leave the room or in the case of any other true emergency, of course a student would be able to leave. Who would have imagined that a world class Bikram Yoga studio would appear in Tracy, CA? I have practiced for 12 years in studios across the country and this is easily the best. Let's start with the facilities. The HVAC system keeps the room hot and humid but supplied with fresh air so practitioners can "suffer" the heat without feeling like they are breathing the exhaust of their class mates. Vents are well placed so there is uniform heat through out. Lines on the floor lend an air of organization to setting up with students encouraged to "put 1/3 of your mat over the line" so even in crowded classes there is no feeling of claustrophobia. The carpets are immaculate and are completely free from the "hamster cage" smell found at many studios. The locker/shower facilities are fantastic. Always clean with plenty of space with the toilet in a separate room so one does not have to partake in the aroma of the pre-yoga dueces of their fellow yogis. Showers are always ubber clean and stocked with organic non-scented shampoo, conditioner and body wash. The public areas are inviting and comfortable with comfortable couches around a coffee table. One nice touch is bar-stools around the front desk which encourages positive interaction between staff and students. This positive interaction is indicative of the fine job that Jonlynne and Tom have done in creating a culture that encourages camaraderie and mutual support. The discipline needed for a strong yoga practice is maintained without feeling fascistic. Teachers are able to intuit when to push and when to back off. New students receive loads of encouragement but not at the expense of others and are made to feel welcome and unafraid to give it their best. A wonderful variety of teacher personalities make the practice more enjoyable running the gamut from Hans and Franz to Bob Ross. But for the most part they stick to the practice without unnecessary bird-walking. Tom--one of the owners--has been particularly adept at noticing and correcting problems and finding solutions. (He has helped me work through knee and lower back issues and this has helped my practice significantly.) Recently they have been developing a cadre of homegrown teachers who are becoming adept at maintaining the studios culture. If you are an experienced Bikramite I assure you you will find this to be at least among the best studios you have tried. If you have not done Bikram Yoga start today and thank me later.
