My son is autistic, so we decided to start with private lessons. Following instructions can be challenging for my son, but Mr. Castro has shown incredible patience, kindness, and understanding. He truly took the time to build trust with my son, and that has made all the difference. We've seen such meaningful progress -- my son is now able to follow instructions and always tries his very best in every session. We truly appreciate the care and dedication that goes into working with him. My daughter has grown so much since joining as well. She's becoming stronger, more disciplined, and confident. Out of all the activities she's tried, martial arts is the one she loves the most. She stays focused in class and is currently enrolled in kickboxing, but she's always curious about the other martial arts programs they offer. I love seeing both of them grow stronger!

First Full disclosure : We have never used or personally attended any classes whatsoever! This…read morereview is purely based on in depth phone conversation only that we feel everyone should be made aware of before joining! We were looking for self defense classes because our son was being bullied at Traina Elementary so we thought to build our son's self confidence , mind, body and spirit as well if needed defend himself so we where attracted to American Top/Traditional Martial Arts called several and all answered phone except this one so left message and about 2 days later received call back and this is my understanding of that phone conversation . 1. 49.00 Special advertised: is 49.00 for 2 days a week for 2 weeks. Its a trail offer to see if you like the class or not from others I've called offer trials are for free But this one charges! I don't have any issue with this so I give it 3 stars as its just ok. 2. If you like the class and wish to proceed they charge 1 time $89.00 Enrollment fee Why ? and what's it used for is beyond me ? Most to my knowledge don't charge any Enrollment fee and since it goes to nothing and no uniform I see that as money in the facilities pockets so I give them 1 star in times with COVID AND JOB LOSSES I see this as a major negative impact on the consumer! 3. THIS ONE WAS THE MAJOR DECIDING FACTOR THAT EVERYONE NEEDS TO BE MADE AWARE OF: They will make you sign a 12 month revolving contract with a 3rd party vendor from what I have heard has poor reviews with BBB that American Top Team/Traditional Martial Arts Studio has no control over and I as well as others need to be cautious of and read the contract very carefully! I did not read this contract because I have never been to the facility but, I did ask lots of questions and offered to pay 12 months in cash in advanced but apparently that wasn't an option! Why ? Use you imagination. If I was to guess I would say someone is making money from you or I by signing those contract because this 3rd party are not processing payments for free and martial arts studio has to be making money as well for their time in explaining and having you sign those contract ! something is not right and everyone needs to be aware of that . On a personal note : I don't understand why the Studio Are unable or unwilling to process there own recurring payments because I deal with small and some large companies all the time and some have lots of customers and every one of them process their own recurring payments as its done all the time without the need for any contract to make the customer feel comfortable instead of trapped into some contract . there just has to be an easier way: so for this I give (- 1 star) Very Disappointing phone call !

When I finally decided to give OMA a try, I spoke with Jazmin, who has been kind and welcoming from the beginning. Her kindness helped ease so much of my anxiety and made the sign up process easy.Coach Chris also made a great first impression. He allowed me to attend a free jiu jitsu class, and I really enjoyed seeing his dynamic with the students. He explained the techniques in a way that were easy to understand, answered all of my questions, and took the time to explain the different programs they offer so I could find the right fit for me. He also let me try a boxing class, which was a great opportunity to experience more of what OMA has to offer. I decided to sign up for the five week jiu jitsu course, and I honestly can't recommend it enough! I worked with Coach Brandon, who is patient, knowledgeable, and easygoing. I really appreciate the level of detail he puts into teaching. He would demonstrate the techniques multiple times and make sure everyone felt comfortable and confident before we gave them a try. He was also incredibly patient whenever I needed extra help, which, let's be honest, was often. One thing I really appreciated was the way Coach Brandon corrected me when I wasn't doing something right. He would explain the proper technique, why it was important, the advantages of doing it correctly, and the disadvantages of the way I was doing it. That made everything much easier to understand and remember. As someone who was already nervous about trying something completely outside of my comfort zone, having a coach who is patient, encouraging, and willing to meet me where I was made a huge difference. Overall, everyone at OMA, staff, coaches and  students have been incredibly kind and welcoming. I'm genuinely grateful for the safe and supportive environment they've created.

The owner sneakily switched and canceled class times without talking to clients (3 times in 2 weeks), brought in unqualified coaches who are known to have poor reputations around the community, AND failed to tell the jiu jitsu instructor that class times were canceled/changed - leaving both students and parents confused and frustrated on the status of the classes they invest hundreds of dollars to take on a monthly basis. Once I was made privy to these changes, I took the liberty to take my frustrations to the owner's father, Kent, who runs the front desk. I explained that I felt that his business practices were unprofessional and unethical and he proceeded to raise his voice and verbally attack me in front of his paying customers. I highly discourage anyone from even considering attending this place. They run a poor business and don't value their students or the people that work for them.

I sighed up online, tried to schedule an appointment, had to miss it because I work 9-5 out side of town. Scheduled another appointment for Saturday at 10. I've spent 23 minutes waiting for someone to help me finish setting up the membership I already paid for and can't use till I get the access key. No one picks up the phone. You get texts that seem to come from a real person but they dont respond when you've scheduled the appointment. Can't enter the gym unless you have the access key. Probably the worst example of customer service I have experienced simply because I haven't received any. I've paid for this membership for almost two weeks now and haven't been able to use it once simply because ANYTIME fitness doesn't have ANY customer service or prioritization for onboarding on new members. I've called multiple times, not once did I get a call back, not even durring business hours. It's ridiculous to have someone pay for a service they can't even use temporarily. I didn't even get a free trial pass. If the office isn't open on weekends, then why allow scheduling. If some members can't make an appointment, why require a first time visit if your reps aren't even going to be available to provide assistance. It just makes no sense to me as to why it has been such an ordeal for me to try and out health first for once. By the time I'm writing this review I will have been here for almost half an hour with no kind of assistance. No text, no call, no app assistance. This experience has really discouraged me from using gym services, especially this gym and I was excited to become a member since it's 24 hours and they have many locations and amenities and I would have been happy to share a positive experience if I had one. Please. I just wanna work out any time I want. Not wait in membership limbo for the off chance I see one of these elusive representatives. Still waiting for my appointment when I post this too. Will be canceling. I have no choice. I'm not gonna pay for something that I can't use. New clients should be wary of singing up. I have worked in customer service for nearly my entire working life and I have never encountered a service that has such useless customer service protocol for the real working class of Tracy. Not even a live or ai chat box in sight. No signs life in the physical office, no call backs, no emails, not even a letter. Just a total waste of time, effort and hard earned funds. I will be canceling and seeking a full refund as no service towards my personally paid membership was met with follow through on the business behalf. They had a full business week to return my multiple calls and did not. Edit: I've attached their cancellation fine print. I've already sent my cancellation e-mail, looks like this gym I'll be a bigger ordeal than I thought. Next steps are finding the owners and finding out why this is so difficult.
