Living near the water you would think there would be more options to purchase live bait, however,…read morethere isn't. A quick Google search brings up minimal businesses in the North Mobile area to purchase live bait. In fact, there was one store and they don't carry live shrimp. Shirley's is a quick drive down to the causeway and will always have what you need. The only disadvantage is the causeway traffic during the summer It doesn't hurt the staff is friendly too!

If you did any research at all you would know that Alabama is ranked highest in liquor tax so it's not the stores fault they have to keep the prices as they are. If you talk to the guys that work there they usually throw in freebies. As for the smell they burn incense sticks and I find it very soothing when I walk in. Located just off I-85 in Saraland, this shopping center ended up being exactly what we needed on a…read morelong travel day, the kind of place where you can pull in, take a breath, and handle both dinner and the next morning's start without ever feeling rushed. Our evening stop was Cracker Barrel, which delivered the usual comfort meal before we settled in for the night in the campervan. The parking lot felt calm and open enough that we could wind down without any fuss, and by morning we were able to swing over to Publix for a few breakfast items that toasted up nicely in the van as we headed toward the next stretch of highway. What makes Saraland Crossings work is how much else is tucked into the same footprint. You've got Mugshots for burgers, fast food for both pizza and subs if you want something quick, the Peach Cobbler Factory for a sweet detour, tacos for a different mood entirely, and a mix of everyday services like a hair salon, dentistry, and even a large medical plaza that anchors the far side of the center. It's one of those places where you can tell the community uses it for more than errands, because the storefronts feel active without being chaotic, and the parking lot has that steady, lived-in rhythm that makes travel stops feel easier. Getting in and out is simple, with wide entrances and exits that connect cleanly to the main road, and the whole layout is straightforward enough that you don't have to loop around or fight for a spot. For an overnight pause between destinations, it checked every box: food, groceries, a quiet place to park, and a surprising number of options if you wanted to linger a little longer.
