It's great for getting to try a lot of things! The servers here work really hard, during the dinner rush there was only 2 of them, therefore be a little patient! The wait is totally worth. Also, make a reservation if you can, they are very popular. (It was packed and we arrived 20 minutes early for our table) We ordered oysters, lobster, seabass (whole), scallops, green salad, bread, and at the end, french coffee. The highlight of the entire dinner were the razor clams. Absolutely unbelievable and a must order if you ever visit and it's on the menu! The coffee was extremely dark and we didn't finish any of it. But, being American, we probably should've known better and researched before we ordered. The creme brûlée was also very enjoyable! (Side note: all the creme brûlées I had in Europe were pre-made and not hot when they came out. Europe tingz?) The bill didn't come out to be outrageous at all and basically all we ordered was seafood... how? All in all, the perfect dinner to end my birthday. I'll be dreaming about this place for the next few years until I visit Amsterdam again.

That said, the time it takes to make the food is WELL WORTH IT. Stumbled upon Frank's on my last night in Amsterdam, and it was the greatest meal I had in town, or even in recent memory. Coffee: Damn good. Salmon-mousse: delicious creamy appetizer. Seafood platter: really nice smoked/chilled bites between the appetizer and entree. Fish-of-the-day: really flavorful smoked salmon served with incredible tomatoes, buttery potatoes, and salad. White wine: refreshing. Banana tarte with coconut ice cream: Wowowowow. The service was excellent. Waiters, cooks, manager we're all very friendly. Watched everything come out of the kitchen -- nothing looks to disappoint.

These offerings were all superbly prepared -from the fresh fish, to the smoked meat dish and a tasty cheese platter to finish things off. Arguably the highlight of the evening however, was the dessert! A delicious chocolate lava cake and a cardamom parfait with warm poached pear were the perfect end to a lovely evening. The service was excellent and the waitress was warm and friendly albeit a quiet evening for the establishment. The menu offers a nice range and is very well priced. This restaurant is well worth the short trip from the city center. We will definitely be back!

When you walk in, you're greeted by their in-house fish market, where everything is visibly fresh and beautifully displayed. You simply choose the fish or shellfish you want, they assemble your order, print a ticket, and you continue on to the wine shop. Before going any further, I want to highlight how impressive the fish market is. It feels almost like stepping into a wholesale seafood market, complete with checker-tape pricing. The staff will tell you exactly how each item can be prepared. For example, when we ordered a dozen mussels, they explained all the options and recommended a coconut curry preparation--an excellent choice and absolutely delicious. Once you have your ticket, you head into the wine bar. The team already knows how your meal will be prepared and offers thoughtful wine-pairing suggestions based on your selections. From there, you're taken to your table, where the outstanding service continues. We were served a beautiful basket of fresh bread almost immediately, along with our chosen wine. By the way, did I mention how beautiful the place is! For starters, I ordered a dozen oysters, and each pair was prepared in a different style. Every single one was outstanding. The mussels in curry sauce were so good that I needed extra bread just to savor every drop. Finally, we had monkfish--an impressively large piece, perfectly cooked, beautifully presented, and absolutely incredible. From start to finish, the entire experience was exceptional. The team at Pesca, and truly the people of the Netherlands, know how to do it right. Hats off to this outstanding restaurant. I only wish we had one where I live--I'd be there every day. Actually, it would be dangerous to have Pesca too close...I'd go bankrupt:)

We started with scallops and calamari which were both delicious and our seabreem was perfectly cooked. It would be nice to have more than one option as to how our fish could be made but all in all everything was fresh and well prepared. Service came with a smile and you can't beat the novelty and ambiance!

We had originally booked the Damrak 213 location but had to cancel due to a flight delay. Determined to make the most of our short time before heading to Paris the next morning, I chose this location because it was close to the areas we wanted to explore after dinner -- and I'm so glad I did. After reading on their website that they keep tables available for walk-ins at most locations, we decided to try our luck. As soon as my best friend and I walked in, we were not disappointed. The ambiance felt right immediately -- warm, inviting, and full of good energy. There was little to no wait, and the fresh seafood display at the front looked incredible. Vanessa was our lovely server and truly a whole vibe throughout the evening. She, along with "Mr. Champion," gave us great suggestions on where to walk and explore next -- and we absolutely took their advice. I love a menu where you can order and split a little bit of everything with a friend, and every single dish was perfection. The shrimp croquettes, king prawns, asparagus, roasted carrots, and fish and chips (kibbeling) were all served hot, fresh, and packed with flavor at a very reasonable price. The kitchen was run by a Black chef who was clearly putting in serious work and completely understanding the assignment. I wanted to personally commend him, but he was fully locked in and busy creating magic. Even the espresso martini stood out -- easily one of the best I've had. Great, relatable conversations, amazing food, and the evening ended on a sweet note with a complimentary lemon crème brûlée served with sparkles. This spot is truly a neighborhood gem. I'm so glad we chose this location -- it turned a rushed travel day into a memorable night dining with some true champions. We can't wait to return with more time to fully enjoy the experience.

The decor is bright and light. The food is divine. The service is great. We ordered the mussels in white wine for appetizers. The mussels came with two house made mayos One with ketchup and the other with mustard. Delicious. The flavor were light wth a hint of scallions and mustard when eating with the mustard mayo. Hubby ordered the sea bass for dinner and I ordered the cod. The sea bass was a whole fish, tender, juicy, and seasoned just right with salt and pepper. The cod had a crispy skin and when eaten with the mustard sauce and spinach had a great taste. For desert, we ordered the chocolate cake. The cake was presented beautifully wth blueberries and raspberries. The cake was dense and made with dark chocolate. It was not bitter nor sweet. Perfect. A must try in Amsterdam.
