I had never heard of Biggby Coffee before this. This place was something that I just happened upon during the wee hours of the morning. I was picking my Mom up from her appointment and just happened to see that they were open and I made a U-turn. I was definitely impressed with the decor of the small coffee shop - very cute (see pix). The young lady behind the counter was either a morning person and running on her second cup of joe because she was smiling, engaging and ready to go. She quickly explained all of the menu items, the specials and the Biggby rewards program. She was something like a Greek Siren describing everything. She had me at BOGOF. My Mom doesn't even drink coffee and even she was saying "yes, get the BOGOF! I want one, too". I ordered the two coffees -- wish I could remember the flavors (sorry, that was 5 months ago) but I do remember that I liked it very much. My Mom enjoyed hers as well. This update is long overdue. Lately, the coffee and service have been far off the mark. Biggby is falling short on many counts for numerous reasons and here's why. At this point, the baristas (yes, pretty much every single one of them) all seem much more interested in gabbing with their friends and gossiping about the most banal topics on the planet than just doing their damn job. Geez, it's coffee, people. It's not rocket science. It's not particularly grueling or difficult, but yet you would think so judging by their inability to stop talking to each other for even three seconds to actually focus on what they are being paid to do- make coffee drinks, run the cash wrap and handle the drive-through. Like I said, it isn't rocket science. They blather on about the most incredibly stupid topics, most of which lend themselves to the TMI category. They talk loudly and indiscreetly all the time, in fact they talk nonstop to the point that I wonder if they bother to come up for air. Anyone within earshot can hear everything they are saying, which I guess is their point. They are so in love with the sound of their own voices and exaggerated sense of self-importance that they think they are putting on a show of sorts for their "audience." Indeed, they live in a rarified air where the oxygen levels must be perilously thin- seriously. Yes, dear baristas- no one cares about your custody battles with your baby momma or baby daddy, your inability to pass an entry level community college course, how many guys/girls you've hooked up, the current status of your last STD, whining about still living with your parents, being friendzoned, your favorite color, who you're in a Twitter war with, your hopes and dreams, etc. It's true- I've overheard (it's impossible not to because they are as loud as drunken sorority chicks and frat dudes at a kegger) all that and much more. And they wonder why I keep putting earbuds in while I'm there? Hello, I can still hear them- seriously. Attention, people- nobody cares! It would help if they could tone it down and try do their job and do it correctly. Is that too much to ask? They just have no shame. Pretty much all of them act like they're hanging at a friend's house or a party. They don't have any idea that their behavior is bothersome or inappropriate at all. It would be nice if they got a clue and started conducting themselves more professionally, even if it is just a cafe. Work is work and should be treated as such. I've watched people walk away after standing in line because they don't acknowledge anyone outside of their pals. I've left empty-handed and coffee-less as well. When they aren't blabbing about their lives to each other, they are ignoring customers and hanging out chatting with off-duty Biggby baristas, who seem to be most reliable customer base this place has. Oh, and the level of flirting that goes on forever when one of the staff sees somebody they like that happens to meander in. It's enough to make you vomit. Come on, this isn't the bar and it isn't "college night," nor is it spring break in Miami. I overhead one barista commenting on how they never have any traffic anymore on the weekends and saying that he wished they could shut down early every night because it's been slow lately. Hmm. I wonder why??? They've driven everyone off, except for their own off-duty employees and friends. Other than that, they wait for freebie slices from Jet's Pizza next door to come their way when one of their employees comes in for a coffee break. Seriously, they told me so. It's the highlight of their day. Lately, they can't get a simple coffee order right and they take their sweet time while they chat with their little friends at the end of the bar who aren't even in line. It's gotten embarrassing for them and they don't even realize it. The coffee has been weak or practically room temperature most of the time and the last few lattes I had sucked. I can make one better at home myself. The last Caramel Marvel I ordered was putrid. I tossed it. The last iced tea I had there was bitter and had an aftertaste. Are they even cleaning the machines anymore? I'm not sure they are. The inside is not as clean and comfortable and it used to be. Apparently, cleaning and restocking inventory went out the window in favor of whining and lamenting over their millennial lives. They don't know how to use the cash register, either, which is a joke because I think they should have mastered that on day one. I know- I worked retail back in college. Again, it's not rocket science. Paying attention and maybe not bemoaning all your "world class" dilemmas would help. It's not comfortable there, even if my drink is adequate. The staff has made it that way. It's apparently the way they like it. It's no wonder that nobody sticks around anymore and the inside always looks empty. People that do come in just grab a cup of coffee to go and split. read more

Went there again today first time in a while order a nutty buddy which I used to love zero foam as some people call it froth being the proper term it's just filled right to the top with coffee and milk. These girls know what they are doing! This is the first time we had a Biggby taste so good!!!!! These girls were kind, fast, and they make them good!!! I was so depressed when the Biggby in Davison closed, but now I can get my fix in Flint! Standard Biggby everything -- free wifi, a fake fireplace, drive-thru, mugs + coffee + tea for sale, and the best damn African Autumn tea latte evveerrrr. While the prices are high, the tea and coffee is just SO good. This location is a bit small, only 10 or so tables, so if you are hunkering down to do some work you may want to get here early for a prime seat with an outlet. Get a frequency card so you can earn free beverages and a birthday coffee on the house. read more

I LOVE BIGGBY and frequent multiple locations... this has to be the slowest location with the most unfriendly baristas.

Let me say, I love Biggby and I'm a huge fan. Which is why I am so disappointed in this location. One staff member was helpful, the rest didn't seem to want to be there and didn't greet me when I walked in like typical Biggby employees do. I get people have their days so it is what it is, but when the drink I order isn't drinkable... that's the worst. My order was missing the milk and tasted burnt (aka the espresso shots were dead and bitter). It wasn't until I was 5 minutes away and it was cool enough to sip that I realized. This is the first bad review I've ever written on yelp, and as much as I feel bad, I hope it helps the store sort some things out. Also, the bathroom was in poor repair, literally, and very unclean :( read more

I love Biggby coffee. Its not super strong, bitter, or overly acidic like other chains I've been to who seem to be too strong or two weak. Biggby is best! I love the reduced calorie peppermint mocha. I has reduced sugar and reduced calories but still super chocolatey and minty. I even skip the whip and candies on top. Another fav is the mocha java available on Saturdays. I've made special trips for this coffee. read more

I love coming here with my sister and Ma before we go to the mall or bookstore and look around. I recommend the teddy bear (drink) and pumpkin muffins (if they have them at the time) it's great there. Nice quick staff too. read more

this location is awful. if you are in any kind of hurry in the morning and need coffee, this location will make you late for work. wait times in the drive thru around 7-8am can be upwards of 30+ minutes for 5-6 cars. it's just unacceptable to have to set aside basically an extra 45 minutes of your day in the morning just to get an iced coffee. come on. won't be using this location anymore. read more

The staff here is always so upbeat and friendly. Everything ive ever ordered wad delicious. I love the way their coffee tastes, and you don't even have to ask for espresso cause it comes with it already. Not to mention Free Shot Friday, where you can get an extra shot for free!
