Not being from the Houston area, we needed catering for a happy hour networking event and found…read moreUptown Catering through a Google search. We're so glad we chose them! The online ordering and payment process was easy, and communication with Lindsey via email and phone was timely and efficient. Delivery was right on time, and the setup and presentation were perfect for our small event. We received several compliments on how fresh and delicious the charcuterie board, vegetables, and fruit were. We would definitely recommend Uptown Catering and will keep them in mind for any future events we host in Houston!

I just catered breakfast for a family event with 20 people and spend $442 (including tip/delivery)…read more The food was mediocre and the portions were so small. I ordered "The Convention" breakfast which was "Scrambled Eggs, Bacon, Sausage, Breakfast Potatoes and Buttermilk Biscuits" - it came with literally 20 tiny sausage patties and biscuits total. So one tiny sausage and biscuit per person. I didn't count the bacon but it was a similarly stingy portion. No one had more than two pieces. The eggs were bland. The potatoes were actually good. But overall, it was so embarrassing to have the food show up and it be these tiny trays of hardly any food for over $400. I would have been better off ordering individual dishes for each person from a local restaurant. I thought with the high Yelp and Google reviews I saw, this would be a safe bet! I also ordered a 20 mini pastries for $3.25 each which were like pastries you get at a 7/11. At least if you are overcharging, let the food be good and not like you unwrapped pastries from a Costco haul. Worst of all was the coffee which was watered down and disgusting. Everyone threw theirs out so I just dumped it. What an utter waste of money. Also they only sent 8 cups with the coffee even though the breakfast was for 20. Stingy and bland all around. If you are catering for a small group, please save yourself the trouble and embarrassment and just order takeout from a local restaurant. I wish I took pictures of the spread but I was just too upset. All I took was the coffee which you can tell even from the picture was watery. ***The menu listed the items but didn't say only 1, 1oz piece of bacon per person - that's absolutely absurd for a normal breakfast portion. Who would cater one piece of bacon per person?

What a fantastic experience!…read more My little sister wanted to throw a cooking party for her 30th birthday; Chef B came highly recommended. All 16 of us gathered at my sister's in Willis late afternoon for a toast and to hang out before the anticipated start time of 5pm. Chef B and Jackie arrived a little after 4 and seamlessly began preparing while guests mingled. (I'm not even certain when they arrived since they just blended in.) They brought an app for us to snack on: baby lobster rolls, mmm. When it was go time, Chef B and Jackie allowed us to pair up at multiple different "stations" around the kitchen/dining area. The guys crowded around the meat table to form "Team Meat" and the rest of us paired up at the various stations where we were walked through each step of preparation. My older sister and I were at the prosciutto-wrapped green bean station, arguably the most "difficult" one. Really, all we had to do was grab a small handful of green beans and wrap them - along with some grilled scallions - with a piece of prosciutto. However, since we'd had open season on Prosecco and sangria for over an hour, this was harder for her than I thought, ha. But it sure was fun! Very social. Food prep at all the stations took half hour tops (half that time at most). The meat had already been brined, herbs chopped, etc. so assembly was simple. Other than the food (I'll get to that) my favorite part was realizing how easy it all was. We got a little booklet at the end with all the recipes; there were very few ingredients and none were complicated. The Chefs managed the majority of the cooking (or supervised the parts we wanted to do, i.e. the guys at the grill) About an hour or so later we were presented with a smorgasboard: bruchetta salad, cremini mushrooms, bourbon bacon pork tenderloin, roasted root veggies, butternut squash with honey, our green beans...I can't even remember it all. But every, single. thing. tasted great! Everyone was so proud of the dish they took part in, it was cute. The best part: the chefs cleaned everything up afterwards! All my sister provided was a kitchen and some dishes to eat off of, everything else was covered, start to finish. All of this for $45 a person. Absolutely unreal. Could not possible recommend more. I'm hoping I can get Chef B and Jackie to come to Austin!!

Not only did they set up very fast and efficiently, but this food tasted amazing as well. Very fresh and local ingredients. Overall we would recommend Chef B to everyone we know. People won't remember what they ate but they'll remember if it was exceptional, and Posh Affair was more than exceptional. We were able to set up a tasting about a year out from our wedding. We were able to choose items we wanted to try. We sat and spoke with Alexis about menu options, catering styles, rentals, and the flow of the day. She was very thorough and I knew that all would be covered. She didn't miss a detail. Alexis was prompt with all communication prior to the wedding. On the wedding day, The Posh Affair was on time and got straight to work. The food was even better than I remembered at the tasting and Alexis made sure that the wedding party did not miss out on any food. They made the extra effort to find us during photos and bring us appetizers. Our guests have not been able to stop raving about the food and service. All servers were happy and very professional. The family style service was a big hit. No one was left hungry and people had the options for seconds if desired. If you choose to go with Alexis and her team, you will be well taken care of and you will not regret it. I know we will be dreaming of our wedding food for years to come. We are grateful to have been able to work with an amazing catering company.
