Place doesn't look like a whole lot but it's clean and the food was excellent. The staff was courteous and very professional. Had the omelette and grits. Obviously they put all their focus into high quality ingredients and safe delicious food. Will definitely be back again.

Driving from the east coast of Florida to the west, there aren't a lot of options so I was happy to roll into LaBelle and find Big V. Sat at the counter where I had good service and talked to nice folks. The omelette and hash browns were tasty and well priced, the daily specials were even better priced. Just what I needed for a stop on my way to Naples.

Now that's what I call biscuits and gravy!

The Big V is this underrated hole in the wall in LaBelle, FL. Attached to a sketchy motel, this place gets crowded with a parking lot full of trucks and remnant sounds of nextel two- ways. Apparently, you need to get there early to get in on their famous biscuits and gravy. Now, this was my first exposure to this southern staple, and this breakfast delight is definitely not for the faint of heart. A half order will give you enough gasoline to hold you over for the day. The biscuits are light and cakey and they're surrounded and covered with a molten lava-like, piping hot gravy. The gravy is homemade and far from the sterile canned stuff you pay an arm and a leg for. There are real pieces of sausage in every bite. The food distracts you from the "ambience" of the place. Don't expect first class dining. You have booths straight out of the 70s that you barely fit in, wood paneled walls, and the waitstaff is a little rough around the edges. Don't let that detract you from having a great made-to-order breakfast with quick turnaround. That place is a well-oiled machine, and your empty stomach will thank you.

When I saw the outside of Big V I thought to myself ugh oh no, when I saw the inside of Big V I thought to myself ugh oh no. After our first initial interaction with the waitress I forgot about the looks and moved on. I had biscuits and gravy, the biscuits were soft and gravy tasted authentically homemade. The gravy was thick and loaded with sausage the full order is huge, I could have easily made due with the half order. I also had a side of home fries. I have never had home fries done quite like this, basically they were sliced potatoes. I thought they were a little bland but my wife loved them. She had pancakes and I was surprised at how fluffy and good they were. Over all the breakfast was good, while the decor and atmosphere lack I have to take into account the location, this is a small town and not very many other options.

Literally best biscuits and gravy. Biscuits are like no other I've ever had all throughout the south.

If you want good food and good service, better not stop here. This place is dirty, outdated.

We ordered the steak burrito that came with hash browns, home fries or grits, we chose the hash browns. The steak was seasoned well and cooked to perfection. The vegetables were grilled and the burrito was pressed which made it even more excellent. The biscuits and gravy were good. The biscuit was tender and the gravy was just thick enough. The customer service was excellent. The nice waitress was always smiling which you makes the atmosphere so welcoming and warm. Will be returning every time I'm in the Ft. Myers areas.

A Hidden Southern Gem You Must Stop For -- Leo's French Toast House, Alva FL…read more If you ever find yourself anywhere near Alva, Florida -- do not drive past this little treasure. Stop in, sit down, and treat yourself. Leo's French Toast House is one of those rare places you stumble upon while traveling and think, Wow, we just found something special. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed like family. The atmosphere is warm, home-style, and inviting -- the kind of place where the coffee is hot, the service is kind, and meals arrive with that unmistakable touch of real Southern heart. No rushed plates, no pre-packaged shortcuts -- just honest comfort food cooked right. We ordered a little of everything, which turned out to be the best decision: 1/2-lb Bacon Cheeseburger & Fries Perfectly juicy, well-seasoned, thick, and stacked with flavor -- truly one of the best burgers I've had in Florida. The fries were crisp, hot, golden, and addictive. Kids' Shrimp Plates + Fries, Green Beans & Potato Soup The shrimp was beautifully fried, not heavy or greasy, with tender meat inside. The green beans tasted real -- not canned -- seasoned just the way Southern veggies should be. The potato soup was creamy, warm, and filling. A kid-approved win across the table. Steak & Eggs with Hashbrowns + Toast This was perfection. The steak was seasoned well, cooked just right, and paired beautifully with eggs done exactly how we asked. The hashbrowns deserve their own applause -- crispy outside, soft inside, and seasoned better than any we've had since moving to Florida. A true Southern-diner breakfast that hits the soul. Philly Cheesesteak with Tater Tots This isn't your typical thin-slice sandwich -- this is real beef. Thick, tender pieces of steak layered inside a soft roll, full of flavor in every bite. Paired with crispy tots, it was hearty, filling, and downright delicious. Everything we ate tasted like someone in the back kitchen cared. Portions are generous, pricing is fair, and the quality is far beyond what you'd expect from a roadside stop. This is food that fills your belly and warms your spirit. Friendly service Home-cooked flavor Seasoned right, cooked right Family-friendly & welcoming A true must-try Leo's French Toast House is a surprise gem -- the kind of place you remember. If you're passing through, traveling nearby, or even within driving distance... go. You won't regret it. Grab a burger, try the steak and eggs, let the kids explore the menu -- and enjoy a meal that feels like home. We will absolutely be returning. A small town diner with big flavor and even bigger heart.

I'm real disappointed with my visit this evening. I just left there. There were three waitresses…read moreworking. I found that out when we were about to leave. Only one acknowledged me even though I stood at the counter finding out whether we had to seat ourselves or wait to be seated. One of the reasons I stood at the counter is because there weren't many people in there and i'm almost positive that we would have never been acknowledged because I was standing there and wasn't even acknowledged right away. There was one lady that finally came to take my order. After that there was the bartender, who also happened to be our waitress as well. Here I am thinking that she was the only one there, since it was pretty slow. But that wasn't the truth. My husband had to get up to pay the bill since no one came back to the table for him to pay. He found out that there were two other waitresses on the other side of the establishment that should have been working. But they weren't. They weren't helping us like they should have been. The food portions were very small and without seasoning. No one ever came to check on us during our dining experience until we had finished our meal. Our table never got cleared off until the end, because I am assuming that this waitress that did finally wait on us, who was also the bartender, was just too busy working at the bar to come back. Someone did try to help us at the end but it was too little, too late. We still left a tip though. The macaroni and cheese had very little flavor and my husband's was cold. My mashed potatoes and gravy was also cold. They need to step their game up. I'm also disappointed in those small buffalo chicken egg rolls as well. They were extremely small for the price. I've had much larger egg rolls than that for the price that we paid. For almost ten dollars, they should have been much larger. Reply to the so called owner.... What you just stated isn't true. And it's more of a reason why I will never come back! There's no reason for me to look for anything to complain about. Don't tell me that I give what I get. From the time I walked in, I stood there for a long time before anyone acknowledged me. As a business owner, you are supposed to make your clients happy. There's no reason for you to try to blame me for being unpleasant toward anyone. I'm the one paying my money to patronize your establishment. If everything was okay, then this would not have been a review that I would have left. You all need to get it together. I never had an attitude, but I was disappointed because I had to stand there and no one did acknowledge me. There was no reason for me to make this up or to lie. What's even worse is instead of you trying to apologize about what was done wrong. You instead threw the ball at me like I was the problem. You are absolutely despicable!!! The other thing you need to do is go get rid of those flies in there. It only takes a moment to get a fly strip. We should have taken our food to go. Then we wouldn't have had to deal with all the flies or the poor service. The owner left a nasty message towards me like I was the problem and this was my reply to her. I explained my experience that she got upset by it. No one should be treated this way....
