We rather reluctantly dropped our pup off last Thursday. We were going out of town until Monday or possibly Tuesday. I called on Friday at 4:30. They are open until 6 but no one answered. I was concerned about my pup because she is a pup and has not been kenneled much. I asked them to call back since I knew they were open. They didn't. They texted the next day, saying all is fine. We just picked our pup up, Monday morning. They charged us for Tuesday. I guess I get that. The thing I don't get is that they brought her out and then said, "she didn't have any toys or anything did she?" We has taken 2 blankets, 2 bones and 1 toy. She went back and brought it all out then but I don't believe they had given it to her. It was still in the bag we brought it in. Blankets were still folded. It would have comforted her. When I gave all of these things to her at home she was so excited to see them again. I feel badly about her experience there. read more

I would NEVER board your dog(s) here!!! My husband and i had to go out of town last minute and the owner said her could fit us in on a very busy weekend. I had taken training classes here with our dog and thought that we could trust them, as the classes were great. After returning home, we went to pick up our dog. First sign of something wrong should have been when the woman working there put on huge earphones just to walk in the kennel area. If it is that loud in there, imagine what it is doing to your dog. When our dog came out, he was very disoriented and and had dried feces all over his rear end. After taking him home and cleaning him up, he had raw open sores from where we removed the poop off of him. Prior to going into the kennel, he was very friendly, energetic, fun loving, basically one of the sweetest dogs you would ever meet. After returning home, he was extremely food aggressive and anytime that we would approach his crate when he was in it, he became aggressive...just not the same dog that we used to have. The only thing that I can guess is that he was put in a crate, inside of one of the kennel runs. He had to compete for food and learned to be aggressive. We have spent a lot of money trying to correct the behavior. If you love your dog, don't board him/her here. I wish I could have them shut down. read more

We have used Big Times for over 20 years and 2 dogs with great success. Each dog has their own room, floor to ceiling, and outside area. Not a squished stacked kennel. When it's cold outside, you can leave your pet with their sweater on. If you want an extra blanket in their room, just ask! They took great care of our last poodle, who was blind for the last 7 years of his life. Our next dog will be going to Big Times for both training and boarding. read more

In June we followed all directions to be placed on a list for puppy class. We filled out the correct registration, sent a check, and waited. They had come highly recommended by a coworker whose family has used their training multiple times. I was so excited to take classes here. I had also been warned that he fills up fast and it can be a while to get in. So I continued to wait for my email. After that it didn't go well. He cashed our check while we were on vacation September 8th and we were so very surprised. We were confused as it clearly stated checks would be cashed second week of class and we'd not ever gotten told we were in a class yet, but if it meant we'd get our class info now I didn't care it was cashed early. Since we were on vacation when we noticed it was cashed- We tried calling and signal was bad so we kept playing phone tag. Now that we are back in town we finally connected and John first tried to say he never cashed our check, Then he called back to say we never showed up to class so he would issue me a refund. I repeatedly told him we never came to a class because we never got an email or info or call or anything. He kept saying well you never showed up. Of course I never showed - I never got an email telling me we were even in a class. I checked obsessively. So I had him repeat back to me what email he says he sent it to and he spelled it wrong, so I corrected him (it's my first name) and actually he said "well our next class is full so I can't help you. I will send a refund" When I said again that the email never came thru he said "well I don't know what to tell you" And that was the end of that. read more

I googled Big Times to get the number to call when I saw the negative review for them. I'm sure it was some other kennel since that person was from Indy and the dogs here are in their own area with a run to the outside and are completely separated from other dogs at all times. I have boarded with them twice before and am going to make a reservation for October. I have no complaints! read more

My 13 yr old cattle dog mix stays here often, its a fine kennel, kept clean and dogs always have access outside during the day. I don't know what the first reviewer experienced but I have never had a bad experience with BigTimes. read more

Their facility is clean and dogs are very well cared for there. They are meticulous with vaccination records and our dogs have never had any problems coming home from being boarded. We have boarded and placed our Aussie Sheppard @ Big Times @ least 8 times in the 2 yrs we have had her. The owners are wonderful and truly take marvelous care of the pets. Are they firm with the animals - yes! They have a wonderful training program as well. As far as "head phones" one must keep in mind that numerous dogs all barking @ the same time will hurt anyone's ears. We have always had our pet bathed and nails clipped before we pick her up. She comes home smelling great and with the same wonderful diposition. She is very "horse" for a day or so but that is because she probably barks as long as the other dogs are barking. The animals have free access to the outside 11 hrs of each day and have fresh water flowing all the time. read more

Awesome center! I've boarded my dogs there a couple times and they have loved it. My Bernese Mountain Dog also does training here and he's doing great. They get him to behave better than I could believe. I used some other training places but this one is the best by far-very helpful. read more

I have been coming to Big Times Kennel for dog training with 3 different dogs in the last few years. The training is great! Not only do you get individual attention you also train with other dogs/handlers in the class. Training with other class members is very helpful in order for you to gain confidence and anticipate real life situations. This is extremely helpful in having your dog focus on you! Could not imagine boarding my dogs anywhere else. I have used Big Times for 15 years for boarding, grooming and training. I have no worries leaving my dogs with John and Maureen as they have gone out of their way to accommodate my dogs' special needs to make them feel more comfortable. This is the only kennel I and my family use. The owners are very knowledgeable about pets and do a great job. As far as the ear protection, we wear them to now the grass. Dogs bark loudly and that can't be controlled. I don't fault the employees for protecting their hearing. Our pets come home clean and happy. Any health concerns they have had have been brought to our attention while we were gone so as to be quickly addressed. Our pets are excited to pull in their drive. read more

We have boarded our dogs at Big Times for close to ten years. They have wonderfully dealt with a more aggressive dog we've had as well as a very mild-mannered, shy dog we've owned. Several years ago we even lived in a rural area across from a kennel and I still took our dogs to board at Big Times instead of using the kennel across the lane. I have had the pleasure of boarding my dogs here several times. Each time the staff are very nice and my dogs appeared to be taken great care of. The staff are very accommodating with reservations. They will give you a tour of the facility upon request. Unlike most kennels in the area your dog gets more outdoor time at no extra charge. The other review on here is just plain crazy. As a teenager I worked at a local kennel. You bet money we would ear protection. You have dogs constantly barking in a semi closed environment. You wear ear protection for your safety. I have always had a great experience at Big Times Kennel. I have boarded there a number of times and my pet is always well cared for. It is by far the cleanest boarding operation I have ever been in. The owner gave me a tour the first time I was there and I certainly see why it is important to wear ear protection - when you have that many animals in one location of course it's going to be loud - dogs bark, that's what they do. They are not sitting back there playing cards and smoking cigars. I have also had my dog groomed there numerous times and she always comes out beautiful, shiny and smelling wonderful.
