    Sculpture Garden piece

Had a great time. Parking- busy day, and with a wedding being held there, spots were limited. When leaving we noticed many cars parked along the road. Mini Golf- two points: 1)be patient. Others before you may be slow, so you might have to wait a bit for the next tee. 2) hole 11 was hard to find. We circled around before realizing it was mere steps away from 10. Afterward, I noticed two other groups having the same issue. Sculpture Garden - definitely worth checking out. Walk the grounds, and enjoy the art (beyond mini golf area). Amenities- there are two bathrooms, a hand washing station near the goats, various picnic tables (they don't sell food, so bring your own snack/beverage),and random games (chess, ping pong). It was fun and worth the visit.

Definitely the prettiest spot that I've ever had the pleasure of playing mini golf. Plenty of shade, tree, sculptures, even water features, AND I got a hole in one. I played my best mini golf game yet! We played here while visiting from out of town, and it was a perfect addition to an already relaxing day. There were a lot of great photo opportunities, and I love that the goats can be photographed but not bothered by guests. There are very limited snacks and drinks available for purchase, so plan a meal elsewhere before or after. Have fun!

Magical experience! So much more than mini golfing. Kids of all ages will love it here. As little or as much walking as you would like!!! Highly recommended

Big Stone Mini Golf is a cute and creative golf course with many fun holes. It is only $14 for adults and $12 for children - no credit cards though. I arrived midday and, as expected, it was pretty busy. Even with a bit of a wait between holes it was fun to experience the artist and somewhat challenging holes. The biggest downside is that the course is not super well kept up. The green is very worn out and a lot of the tee stands are missing from the holes. Even so, we had a fun time. In addition to the golf there is a lot of other sculptures to wander around and see. There are also some yard games like corn hole and table tennis available to play. Last but not least, you can also look at and feed the goats (for an extra cost). They are super cute and were loving the snacks.

If you want unique and fun mini golf, this is the place! 14 holes of creative, challenging and unique golf. Lots of cool sculptures both combined in the mini golf holes and course, plus even more in the "back" lawn. Goats, a highland cow, a miniature donkey and more. We had a blast and the owners are super kind. Note, the course is almost all shaded which is lovely, but the mosquitoes were bad. Bring bug spray or cover up if they tend to like you. Our daughter got bit a lot with huge welts but the other 4 of us were mostly unaffected.

Huge, beautiful green space to explore full of sculptures

We had so much fun at Big Stone recently! This place is one of the more unique locations to play mini golf in the Twin Cities. The course is set up on an area of land that has taken unique sculptures and turned them into a fun family outing. We arrived on a Saturday at about 15 min past opening and we're glad we got there early. People started flooding in and the lines were roughly 40 deep by 11 just waiting to start. Parking is in a dirt field but plentiful. The setup is not the most organized for waiters from what I could tell, you pay admission grab your putter and ball and then just have to wait. There is plenty to see on the grounds but if you are coming primarily for mini golf, get there early! They don't seem to limit groups sizes either so if you have a party of 5 or 6 (or more) ahead of you prepare to just keep getting backed up. The course is minimally maintained. Balls roll all over the place and there isn't a rubber area to start so you just kind of guess and hope your ball stays put. But, the whole reason you come here is the sculptures and the grounds; and they are worth it! Each hole has a different artistic take and after you complete your round (or while you wait) you can wander the huge area to explore even more sculptures and animals. There are plenty of places to bring a blanket and set up for a picnic lunch or just wander and enjoy the art. There is a giant chess board and a unique ping pong setup as well. The location also has donkeys goats and chickens to observe as well! If the weather is nice, plan on spending a few hours with golf, a snack or lunch you bring and just enjoying the grounds. I will say the admission for golf is a bit pricy at anyone 9+ being $12 and 8 and under $10 but it supports a non profit for local artists and includes access to the entire space plus golf. One thing to note is that they are cash or checks only; no electronic payments and closest ATM is about 5 miles away. If you haven't been, it is definitely worth a trip out to Minnestrista to experience!

Fun! This the best mini golf ever! It was so fun and the holes were unique and interesting. In addition to mini golf there is an a large chess set, checkers, animals, goats, sand traps and water hazards. It was so fun. We have to go back. Just an all around good time. A young man really wanted to golf hole 10, so we invited the five year old to gold the hole with us because his mom was taking care of two tuber kids. He beat us soundly. Again, you need to plan a day out and go golf here. You won't regret it! Oh, cash only. No credit cards, checks.

This is a *must-do* if you are looking to do something with kiddies, and a fun alternative activity if you're just sick of walking the same old path. We took our 5-year old grandson here and spent a fun 90 minutes traversing the creative mini-golf holes, followed by a romp around (and on top of) many of the fascinating sculptures spread throughout the property. Now, I'm not easily impressed by whimsical art, but this guy has brought a lot of neat ideas to life. When I wasn't trying to keep up with my grandson, I was admiring the workmanship and design of most of the dozens of large sculptures. They have built something quite incredible and unique here.

Best mini golf course I have ever been to! We had to wait about 25 mins til we could golf, but it was totally okay because there were so many sculptures to look at and even baby goats to entertain us! The courses were actually pretty challenging too. There were not a lot of opportunities to get a hole-in-one, although we ended up getting one! Definitely a fun activity for the family, or even a date day! Would recommend.

This place is amazing! Our friends recommended to it, and so glad they did! The course is not huge but the creativity for the courses is amazing! There is one where you shoot on a ramp, through a hole and into a tree log. Another has a pinball type area. A third is under a boat! Then, as if mini golf isn't enough, there are animals, statues to admire and take fun photos with, a ping pong table, corn hole, bocce ball and just lots of beautiful open space. Enough stuff where you should plan on spending a few hours there. Cash only though, so come prepared.

Too hot to play regular golf so why not try mini golf. I recently read two different magazines that recommended Big Stone Mini Golf...it was a sign and we didn't want to upset the golf gods. It was a lovely drive past lakes and country roads to get there. Golf was $12 (no credit cards). The holes were challenging, including a couple par 5s. It's only a 14 hole course which would normally be my perfect length but for mini golf, wish we would have had the full 18 holes. They were surrounded with beautiful art and some mist machines to keep patrons cool. For the record, husband beat me. There were lots of shade trees which also dropped tons of twigs and cotton, so that made it even a bit more challenging. Don't leave without walking through the art park. I so enjoyed that part. Many different materials were used to creat creatures, mobiles, and even a ping pong table. Great day. Fate and the golf gods were right!

    Exploring the sculptures!

Sooo much fun! Before making the drive out here, please note it's cash/check only! We got here early and spent about 2 hours, but had we packed a lunch, we could have stayed even longer. We did the 14 holes of mini golf, explored the sculptures and petted the goats of course :)

Fun mini golf course. Interesting sculpture garden. Perfect for a quick day trip adventure. The only negative was the grass parking area was real muddy from rain the night before.

The greens were pretty well kept and the tee boxes were in decent shape as well. For an ~$50 course to ride, the quality was aligned with the cost. It's *mostly* walkable but there's a few very steep paved paths you need to walk up and down so definitely be aware of that before committing to walk! The driving range isn't great, it's an unkept field that borders the overflow parking without a net so it definitely doesn't offer any protection from shanks! I definitely wouldn't park my car bordering the driving range! Everyone working in the clubhouse was knowledgeable and friendly. Timber Creek overall was a nice playing experience - inexpensive green fees and refreshments, easy to get on, well maintained. The clubhouse is a little basic. The driving range is very nice - grass tees. It is walkable except for a few huff and puff hills on each 9. There are an average amount of water hazards; some of the fairways were squishy from recent rain in the lower areas. There are a couple of blind shots off the tee so you need a gps or score card from the course (vs keeping score on your phone app). There is one series of holes I think 12/13/14 that are not as well designed - sortof forced into the space. Other than that, a nice layout worth a try.

I had the unique opportunity to play the private Windsong Farm course on a cool, breezy October…read moreafternoon with several others new to the course. We knew that the layout would prove to be challenging, so we split into two-man scramble teams to try to keep things moving. It had rained the prior evening, so carts were not allowed even though the course appeared to have drained quite well. The upside is that pulling our bags behind us gave us a modicum of warmth on a borderline playing day. As it should be for a 5-star review, I encountered no significant issues -- frustrating golf challenges certainly, but no issues that dampened my experience (besides the gusting wind on the long Par 3 16th over water, but what a great challenge!). First of all, there are a lot of bunkers on this course (over 70 from what I could count on Google Maps). Most of these are deep-sided with long grass curling around the edges. Drive your ball into one of the fairway bunkers and you'll likely have to come out sideways. The sand is very fine, and even though it was a bit wet during our round, it was very consistent and a lot easier to extricate oneself than the hardpan on some of the munis in the area (don't ask why we were hitting from the sand when we were playing a 2-man scramble!). Secondly, the long prairie grass that lines most fairways was turning stunning shades of tan, purple and red. Really pretty and relaxing as long as you didn't hit into it (in which case don't even try to find your ball). Thirdly, despite the lack of trees and limited over-water carries, you'd better hit a long straight ball if you hope to even bogey some of the longer par 4's. As a bogey golfer, I felt very good if I could scramble to bogey from the Sand tees, and if I had been playing my own ball those would have been the exception scores. Outside of the 16th, Par 3 holes were fairly easy. I actually played the long Par 5's quite well for some reason, but there is a lot of trouble to be found. We had a great outing and really appreciated the opportunity. Interaction with course staff was limited to a short conversation in the small-ish but nicely appointed Pro Shop. Members will have to provide reviews on other aspects of the club, but I would certainly consider joining if I played enough golf in retirement to justify membership. So, how did we score you ask? 5-over on the Front and 6-over on the Back as the wind picked up and our senior bodies tired. Not too bad for not knowing the course or having any sort of rangefinder. If there's a next time I will play my own ball to see how I do!
