I first worked with Sergio and Big Star Movers last year, when I admittedly had a large and semi-complicated job, moving the contents of one house to two separate properties (but within 2 miles of each other). It was a barely lived/not much stuff rental property, 2 bedroom condo, and after nearly 4 hours, they still hadn't finished loading the truck. The only person that spoke English was the driver, and he wasn't helping much. Apparently, the couldn't figure out how to disassemble a very standard bed (I have photos). Sergio sent another crew member at his cost, which was greatly appreciated because we still had to move from Jupiter to Wellington. The men were polite, but I noticed after the furniture was scuffed, the walls were scuffed... they were beyond slow. The price was affordable and reasonable considering the service with three men and the travel, etc. Then, a few months ago, I needed a mattress moved. I called them again and we had a pleasant experience, literally moving one mattress 2 miles down road. While I hadn't loved the initial service I received, I found myself in a time crunch so, against my better judgment, I called Sergio again. There isn't much to move and the "difficult" bed was not one of the items. I called on a Sunday and explained I needed to coordinate the move with a friend coming in from out of town to take some of the furniture. The 3 of us agreed to the next Sunday, and Sergio instructed me to text him photos of the items, which I did on Monday. Having not heard back, I called him again. As we went to confirm, we realized Sunday was Easter and it couldn't be done. He had a slot for Friday, so we asked him to hold it until my friend got clearance to take off work. Later that night, at 8:23, I texted Sergio the confirmation as it was my understanding it was a business phone; each text has a signature line that says "Big Star Moving". I also called and left a voicemail. He replied back that he was in a family meeting and to call back tomorrow. I said thank you, I was just confirming. I have the screenshots. The next morning, Sergio texted me about his "special rates" and that after the base, it would be $20 for each 15 min increment. I expressed my surprise at the cost and told him honestly, his movers are VERY slow. At this point, Sergio became enraged and offended. He accused me of being upset because he didn't answer at night (screenshots will he provided if possible). I told him the cost was fine, I just needed to get it done, and he refused unless I brought a quote to him from another moving company. At this point, I called him. He'd initially told me he could schedule me for Sunday and it's not really my fault he didn't properly look at his calendar. His lack of diligence caused a huge upset in our plans, but we adjusted. I told him that my friend and I are of different beliefs and didn't know it was Easter; but he should have. I told him I'd pay up front but he refused and gave me a lecture on how you can't buy respect. That's fine Sergio, you also can't buy away a negative review. By the way, in less than 45 min, I found a company that beat his price. Spare yourself the headache and avoid this rinky dink sh*t show. You can do better. *please note that on Sunday, April 5th, Sergio booked us, not realizing HIMSELF it was Easter. The only reason I was insistent on getting it done with them was because my friend had already made arrangements and I was afraid another company wouldn't have the new time available. I offered $500 because his base price plus the $20/15 min would've come out to about $500 with as slow as they are. Amazing service at a great price. My sister in law needed a mover from her 3 bedroom apartment to her new one with 2 stories. At first she had a company that was going to charge her over $1500. The men were on time and worked tirelessly for 6 straight hours! That's a lot of hard work when you're moving furniture. No broken items noticed. They even helped me rearrange furniture that they were not responsible for. They were pleasant and did a lot of smiling and laughing. Yes I am Todd's partner and was there when your unprofessional movers scratched a Brand Newly refinished floor by shoving a queen sized mattress wrapped in plastic across the bedroom floor. Then I read your review accusing us of hitting on your workers which never happened. You are a lying jerk and if you can't take honest criticism about actual damage caused by your unprofessional movers, then you should not be in business. One word to describe these guys. WOWWWW!!! Now I only leave reviews if the product/service was remarkable or terrible. If you have ever used movers before, you probably know how difficult it can be to find ones that are good, honest, and affordably priced. Well now you found it! They are upfront and direct with the service offered and pricing. No surprises. No holding your stuff hostage on the truck while they make you pay an inflated price. No "extra" fees that were hidden in the mountain of paperwork you signed. In fact you sign 1 page with very clear and simple terms. The same price and terms discussed on the phone. And pay once everything is all done. They were quick and careful. Moved couches, large furniture, dishes, mirrors, tvs, etc. and NOT ONE THING WAS DAMAGED. These SOBs should not be in business! The response to my factual review was met with lies and defamation. My partner and I hired these bastards to unload a pod. The guys were nice and respectful throughout the move, as were we. (I have never "cat called" anyone in my life and my partner would never do that either.) At the end we discovered one of them had pushed a mattress across a bedroom and deeply scratched the floor that had just been refinished and final coated the day before. We paid $12,000 to have the floors refinished by the best company in town after our original contractor completely screwed them up. I was not going to have their person mess them up more than their mover did. I will be pursuing legal action against this company. If anything goes wrong and you call them out, they will try to publicly defame you. Guess what Sergio, defamation is illegal. Obviously you are very homophobic and a bigot. read more

I would never recommend Big Star Moving, they nothing but Big morons! They come to my house, 2 hours later then they were scheduled, promised me a special price, didn't honor it, took almost double the time they were scheduled to do the moved, slow as F, scratched up my floors, banged up one of my dressers, one of the movers complained the whole time, and i only moved ten miles down the street! went to the owner to complain and he didn't do anything about it. I do not know where to begin... I have had some really bad moving experiences, so I was really apprehensive about hiring anyone to move my items out of my two storage units and into my two story townhouse. But, these guys were awesome. I found them to be a focused three man team. They were quick about moving your items, but careful not to damage anything. The men worked really hard to lift my items, a few of which were really heavy. They were also agreeable to extending my appointment time to off loading a uhaul truck that we just did not have the strength to unload. I would use them again and highly recommend. read more

I was stressing to find movers with a one week notice until my move. I couldn't believe how hard it is to find a moving company that has decent reviews, fair prices, and good customer service. Even the biggest moving names in South FL scared me off by the experience just calling to get a quote. Then I found Big Star and let me tell you they did a wonderful job. If you take the time to pack and wrap most of your goods ahead of time they will have you moved asap. 3 guys showed up and hustled to get me moved out of my town home and into a storage facility near by in 2hrs flat despite the fact that it was raining and they had to stop for about 15min because the rain got too hard. They even wrapped a few of the items we did not get too and disassembled my king size bed. I will be moving across the state at the end of the month and will definitely be calling Sergio and the guys over at big star again to get me out of storage and into my new home. read more

I have had a good experience with this company, having used them 3 times in the last 6 months. First, you won't beat the price (I tried a groupon deal and there were all these hidden fees, $150 for gas! And you had to itemize everything you were moving--yeah right! Even secretary said they weren't honest) and they offer free pick-up and delivery for local items if you use their moving services which is what I did today. They were punctual, efficient and picked up and dropped off a large freezer for me in under an hour. For moving I have been pleased, more so the first time than the last, but that's just the way it is with these types of things. Very pleased the first time. I feel the owner is very polite and accommodating and overall they make a good effort to communicate well, be on time and get the job done. read more

A lot of heavy, expensive furniture and the entire household had to move and for the most part it went well. The movers dropped off the first load with no problem but the second lot had some issues. Some expensive furniture ended up with multiple dings and dents in numerous places and heavy wooden chairs and most other items were not handled with care and were not wrapped with blankets properly. Chico took pictures of the damaged furniture immediately, sent it to Sergio who had a furniture repair person call me the very next morning. The furniture repair person showed up, fixed everything and took almost three hours to make sure all is fixed properly and at NO cost out of my pocket. That shows utmost respect for customers and a solid commitment to customer service. They will surely get referrals from me for making the best out of this situation. I will definitely hire them again for doing a good job and taking care of me when they did not have to. NO mover is perfect but majority will NEVER take care of you after getting paid. Big Star gets FIVE STARS from me for taking care of me after getting paid. Owner Sergio & supervisor Chico are extremely cooperative & conscientious people.
