I had a fantastic sales experience with Hailey at Big Star Honda. The process was seamless and I really appreciated the time Hailey took to explain things to me, let me try the things I needed to try, really get to know me and then got me into my new CR-V. The finance team, however, was my point of contention. Natali was my original finance partner, who initially got me started with the process, my credit application approved, and all that. But the next day I received a call from another finance partner (Brian) who tells me Natali quit the night I signed all my deals (which was a lie), and that my deal was no longer valid and I would have to resign at a higher rate and price. Even though I had signed contracts in place, they would not honor them. Unacceptable. Could have been a 5-star experience if not for that. If you decide to buy from Big Star Honda, probably reconsider using their financing. Their sales team was stellar, the finance side... Not so much. read more

The remodel of Big Star did you all well! So glad that I chose to drop my car off, and was able to go to work. I am impressed with the new system of utilizing Uber. So they send you a link to your phone and it books the ride for you. You are linked to a map with the driver details. You receive a link when you are ready to pick up your car. When I dropped off my vehicle they had the cars in and out...no games. They have a waiting area with a coffee and cappuccino machine/water and muffins of your choice. Several television screens are available. The service was superb from start to finish. I love the multi point inspection that comes with my oil change. They also washed my car!!!! I have an Acura and I would rather come here for service. I will definitely be back for all future oil changes. They did not pressure me for any recommended services. read more

Updated Review: After having issues with the Service Department & Manufacturer, Big Star Honda's General Manager Karl L. came through for the win. He investigated our issue and completely corrected it in a swift manner, while taking full accountability. He also reimbursed us for the manufacturer's defect that they initially charged us for. That is how you keep loyal customers! We will use and recommend Big Star again. read more

Gavin, my salesman, was nice and helpful. My advice to him as he begins his career would be: DONT WORK FOR SUCH AN IDIOT OF A MANAGER. Life's too short to do so. So yeah, the manager here sucks. Belittling and rude. Dropped my 50k cash on a truck across the street instead. Dude could have had a deal but blew it by being an asshole. read more

My salesperson, John Hiatt, went above and beyond to make my car buying experience a great one. I never felt pressured or rushed, and he was more than happy to answer the many questions I had. I would recommend him to any friends or family looking to purchase a vehicle at Big Star Honda. Thank you! read more

Made an appointment to see a car, called 10 mins before getting there to confirm it was still there and was told it was still available. I get there and the car is sold. I did view another vehicle similar to the one I had originally inquired about, they pull it up and the car is missing pieces, dirty, and the engine was shaking. Disappointing experience to say the least. Classic car dealership sales tactic to get you in the dealership and show you a more expensive car. read more

On May 9, 2026, around 9 a.m., I visited Big Star Honda to inquire about a damaged 2025 Honda Accord Hybrid with 15k miles. I was working with Alex that's from Galveston Texas and came prepared with a check, ready to negotiate a deal. However, management told me multiple times that negotiating the price or fees was "impossible" because the dealership is firm on pricing. At one point, I stepped outside to grab my charger from my car and returned less than two minutes later to find another customer sitting at the desk. I was under the impression Alex was looking for vehicles within my budget, but instead I was simply told, "We'll send you links to cars you can afford." To this day, I've never received anything. Overall, I felt the situation was handled unprofessionally, and because of that, Big Star Honda will not receive my business in the future. The same day, I went to Honda Clear Lake and was able to purchase a brand-new 2026 Honda Accord with 0 miles. The experience there was much more professional, and I definitely recommend Honda Clear Lake. read more

After months of trying to get an appt with Honda of Clear Lake for a recall on my vehicle, I finally wized up and gave Big Star a call. After just a few rings a friendly guy answered the phone and helped me out. He put me on hold at one point, never came back but then another gentleman, Russ/Ross answered and got me squared away. R advised that the first guy was from the call center and probably just put me directly in touch with the dealership. He let me know they'd get me in and out the same day and would put me in an Uber to and from the dealership so I wouldn't have to wait around onsite. I brought my car in the following Saturday. Upon arrival it was a little confusing and hard to tell which service rep was available to help you and they made no attempt to tell u if they were free. After standing there a while confused, I stepped up to Gerson Barahona's desk and told him why I was there. He was polite, went over what they were gonna do, gave me a timeframe, and ordered my Uber. He sent me a link to the Uber and I was able to track it with my phone. The Uber pulled up about 5 min later and drove me home. I was home for maybe an hour or 2 when Gerson texted me to see if he could send an Uber back to pick me up bc my car was ready. When I returned Gerson wasn't available but another service advisor quickly gave me my keys and sent me on my way. I should've gone to Big Star to begin with and they will be my go-to for future service appointments. Thanks for the excellent service Big Star! read more

I went here a couple months ago on June 5 to look at a 2025 Honda Odyssey and they tried to bait and switch me. They lured me in by telling me one thing on the phone and then even admitting that they'll tell customers one thing on the phone to get them in. I even called the person who was messaging with me out on it. He was with a customer so I got put with someone else. The initial price they gave me was $5000 more than what we talked about on the phone. When we were negotiating, as I was walking away, they magically could drop the price $4000 after saying they can't do anything. After everything was said and done, we couldn't agree by $1000 and they called me ridiculous for thinking I could get an 2025 Odyssey EX-L under $44,500. Not so ridiculous after all since I got a better deal elsewhere. I used to be a very loyal service customer here but after this experience, I'm going elsewhere. I would not recommend buying from them either. read more

Thanks. Melvin. For your help to get my new car. I do recommend everyone who wants to trade or just get new car.

I purchased my 2020 Honda Accord brand new from Big Star Honda in Houston, TX, believing Honda's reputation for reliability. Fast forward just 4 years and 95,000 miles, my engine completely fails due to what I later discovered is a common issue with this model--a poorly designed head gasket that allows coolant to leak into the cylinders. This caused the engine to overheat and warp the engine block. Big Star Honda and Honda denied all responsibility. I ended up paying $4,000 out-of-pocket for a new engine on a car that should have had many more years of life. I was assigned a service advisor named Gerson, who had horrible communication throughout the process. I told him multiple times that I work until 5PM and could only return the loaner car after that. Despite this, he left for the day when I drove nearly an hour after work to pick up my car. Totally unprofessional. It gets worse. The very next day after getting my car back, all the warning lights came on again. I brought it back and now the diagnosis was turbo failure due to overheating--yet again, they took no accountability. So now my "fixed" vehicle was back in the shop again. To make matters worse, the only time I ever got an oil change done at this dealership, the technician failed to properly tighten the oil drain plug. Oil spilled everywhere, and I was left stranded on the side of the road. After that, I went to Valvoline for oil changes--like any reasonable person would. I filed a complaint with Honda Corporate and it took them over a month to get back to me. I left 11 voicemails and sent multiple emails before the case manager, Yvette, finally responded. And her reason for denying goodwill assistance? "Lack of loyalty" to Honda because I didn't return to Big Star Honda after their own negligence? That's a slap in the face. Here are the questions I asked that no one could answer: How does an engine fail so prematurely in a car marketed as "reliable"? What assurances do I have that the replacement engine won't fail at another 95K miles? Why should I be responsible for a repair so massive on a car that should still be running strong? What is Honda doing to prevent this from happening to other customers? No answers. No accountability. Just blame-shifting and silence. This whole experience has been a complete nightmare. I'll never buy another Honda again. Big Star Honda is the WORST dealership I've ever dealt with. If you're reading this, do yourself a favor: go anywhere else. Honda's reputation for reliability and service is dead to me. read more

This is for the service/parts department. Staff is not helpful at all. Especially the white guy with beard/tattoos and glasses. He avoids helping people out. They don't even call you if you're next in line, you basically have to help yourself out." read more

Avoid Honda vehicles and Big Star Honda or you mat find yourself writing as oppose to reading reviews!! Honda of America is Unresponsive to a warranty fix related to Class Action Lawsuit for my vehicle. I am greatly disappointed and wish I could give American Honda and this dealership zero stars. They don't deserve a single star because they don't stand behind their product. Honda has continued to produce the Honda Odessey and other makes/models with defects that cause the piston rings to rotate and align which leads to spark plug fouling and engine misfiring. The exact problem that Big Star diagnosed on my vehicle. A successful class action lawsuit was won against Honda but I was told Honda didn't issue a recall which has left millions of loyal customers in the cold with the piston ring defect. American Honda extended the warranty to include my model year, yet they have selectively excluded certain VIN numbers. This horrible problem warranted a recall. As elderly people we don't drive a lot. Now that our Odessey has been driven more due to family illness the misfires have shown up. I'm not sure what Big Star did or didn't do following their analysis, but the vehicle hasn't been drivable since! I'm afraid of what may not have been put back together before they had me drive it home. American Honda did not even respond to the BBB complaint we filed against them (see below). It will now become my mission to warn consumers on social media and through every way possible that Honda doesn't stand behind their vehicles and to avoid them or pay the cost. We are told this could be a $5000+ repair on a car with less than 147K miles. Big Star offered only about 10% off of this massive repair bill for a known problem. Without the additional $4500 we are still without a car. **** Dear C**** And B****B****: This message is in regard to your complaint submitted on 8/28/2025 against American Honda Motor Company Incorporated. Your complaint was assigned ID 238*******. Your Better Business Bureau (BBB) has made several attempts to contact the business regarding your complaint. We regret to inform you that we have not received a response at this time and this case has now been closed as an UNANSWERED complaint in their file. Big Star Honda - Entrance to a--hole sales mgr. & director. - Auto Repair Near Me - Houston, Texas

Benjamin Lutz was my advisor. I arrived to pick up my vehicle and stood right in front of his desk by the window waiting for him to help me. He was with a customer when I first arrived. He walked away to help the customer then came back and continued on his computer. There was an Asian advisor there on his phone with no customers, last name Pham, the entire time that I was there. No one acknowledged me whatsoever until I said if any one was planning on helping me. Another advisor that just finished with a customer ended up helping me after I said that. Thank you to him. I stood there for about 20 minutes. Ridiculous. I felt absolutely disrespected. A male customer came in minutes after me and he got attended. I wanted to give them the courtesy of finishing up their work before interrupting them with my service but I didn't receive that courtesy back and I don't appreciate that. A "we'll be right with you" would've been nice to hear when I arrived. I've been coming here for years and after this, I will be finding a different dealership. read more

Big Star Honda - New car - Auto Repair Near Me - Houston, Texas

Attn: Karl Lutz, karll@bigstarhonda.com Don't bother responding to this review, I already know what you're going to say but you never bothered to respond to my emails the first time when I actually had concerns with your sales team. From start to finish, it's been a clown show. Too much to list, so I'll try to sum it up per person. - Sales person Amelia: Late to first appointment, made a claim the car was ready for pickup and upon my arrival it had not entered final wash and clean had to wait another hour. Was not transparent about the service to be completed prior to hand-over of the car had to wait 4 days after completing finance. Does not respond to emails. Attempted to get me to come back to sign the title correction then was sent by Jason to my house with a title application paper in a dealer mustang (adding extra mileage and putting the potential sales car on the road). I'm not sure if it was just a bad match customer to sales person but Amelia has made this a poor and disappointing experience. -Sales person Andres: First to greet me in the morning when original person was late. Didn't know much about the car I wanted but not his fault, Did his best to get the most out of the sale but I was prepared with counters. -Finance officer Jason: Friendly enough, attempted to get me to change banks after running credit after informing him I already had a pre-approval # and loan officer. He tried to pitch the upgrade packages but didn't force them on me. Mis-printed something on the title application and had to get me a new copy with physical signature. We both missed an appointment for the signature, both times I had to call. Jason offered to send a person over. Unfortunately it was Amelia. -Karl Lutz: Again, don't bother responding... This does not seem like the Ken Garif experience you claim to provide on your homepage. You clearly have some customer service issues to address. It sounds like I just got the bad one. So I hope the next person gets a better experience than me, but I will not be recommending this dealer to anyone and will not be returning. I'm sure Amelia is happy about that. Karl... I know you're not going to read this, just don't respond. read more

there are advertised prices for Big Star Honda on Cars, com , Autotrader that list the price. There is one tiny, tiny seemingly insignificant line that says "Prices do not include any dealer installed options" These dealer installed options are not mentioned until you are in the buying process and they amount to almost $2,000 Very, very unprofessional sales and the Assist Used car manager is a cold hearted jerk. Look for somewhere else, more honest and professional to buy your car. read more

I received a pre approval from Capital One for a car purchase from this dealer. They called me and I went out to look and teat drive the car. I explained everything to them before going there from A-Z. The salesman oh that's not a problem. I get there and was told that I would have to do a trade or put money down. I didn't have money to put down and I owed too much on my car to trade. So they ask for a co-signer and when that didn't work you could see the change in the treatment I received. Saturday morning 11/23/2024 Adam Bates left a message on my phone saying they wanted to continue the deal. I call him all day Saturday and got no response. I sent a text message 11/25/2024 letting him know I has being trying to reach him. He then sends me the message below. The comment that was made was very unprofessional. I them call back and ask to speak to a manager and still no return call. If they can't make money or if it little more work to do it was put on the back burner. Now I see that I'm not the only one whose had issues with this dealership. I gave one star because yelp made me not because you deserve it. read more

My wife, who is a senior and walks with aide of a cane, visited this dealership by herself. A employee took her on a test drive and then she was introduced to a man we assume was a closer. He did not offer the common courtesy of standing up and greeting a prospective customer. especially a female customer. He sat with his arms folded over his chest and said they do not have to make deals as they sell their cars very quickly. When my wife asked for the sales manager. The manager said they do make deals. Let me begin by saying that I love Big Star Honda sales they are BEYOND AMAZING! But that is where it ends. When you visit the service department be ready to get the run around. But they gave my brand new vehicle to someone who's name isn't listed on my profile! They didn't bother to call me or anything. Imagine my surprise when I see my vehicle driving down the road when it's supposed to be at the dealership.
