After having an evaluation at kidventures, the OT took the time to explain Sensory processing disorder and she gave me lots of resources that my husband and I could implement at home. My son loves going to "play" there and he talks about the "big gym" all the time! His OT did a school visit and kept in contact with his teacher to help her understand his behaviors and sensory needs. It's amazing that he can sit still through circle time now and is much better at following directions. He is even more coordinated and able to keep up with his friends during sports activities. The best part has been that his confidence has grown and we are so grateful for the services here.

I was starting to doubt the value of occupational therapy when someone referred me to Kidventures. From the initial evaluation, I could tell that they GOT my daughter. They REALLY SAW HER, so the plan that was developed was specific to her needs/goals. They knew what/when/how to tackle the issues to help her develop. I was included every step of the way and encouraged to participate. I received valuable feedback after every session and was given suggestions for things I could do at home to further help. My daughter is now a different little girl-she's mastered so many skills and continues to amaze me with her progress! Her physical abilities, as well as the ease with which we now move though our lives (those difficult transitions are sooo much easier!) make for happier days immediately and long term hope for a bright future. I can't thank Jen, Angie and the staff at Kidventures enough. If you are a fellow parent of a child with special needs, I know you want to trust your child to capable AND caring hands. That's what you'll find at Kidventures!

Although my 1st PT here made me a wrong kind of crust for my finger causing blisters on my skin, my 2nd PT here, Samantha, deserves a Special Mention. Samantha is a highly skilled and compassionate therapist who worked diligently to address my dislocated tendon at my pinky finger. When I told her my 1st crust was rubbing my finger causing me blisters, Samantha knew right away what went wrong and why it caused me blisters. She made me a new crust, more comfortable to wear. Samantha was extremely professional yet friendly and fun, and really knows her stuff. Her therapy sessions were not only effective but also conducted with genuine care and professionalism under a fun talk. I especially appreciated the maintenance tips she provided for my long-term recovery. Because I live pretty far away from the clinic, the front staff here always tried their best to accommodate my schedules. Only one thing that I feel the clinic may be considering to improve is upgrading their register system. Even I filled up the required documents in prior to go to the clinic, for some reason it didn't go through and I needed to spend 15-20 mins on a very old iPad to redo them all over again. This happened to me twice. In sum: Friendly and kind staff. Highly recommend Samantha to anyone seeking hand therapy!

K, I'm a bit biased: I, myself, was a PT at STAR for 10 years. But, I'm a patient right now: bicipital tendinitis developed as a result of shoulder impingement/rotator cuff arthropathy. I couldn't use my arm worth squat, constant pain, and intense pain with attempted use. What I had tried/done failed. Grew very discouraged/depressed: Husband asked me when I was going to DO something about it (& stop complaining, lol). Saw my doc: He offered an injection, but I said, "PT first please, and I want to go to STAR." (don't want injections to jeopardize the integrity of my tendons, and STAR PT "only"!). Yes, a PT may need another PT to lift one up, illuminate the path, and lead the way to success! Highlighting Anthony for his awesomeness! I specifically requested Anthony because he was the only one who didn't "know me." I know the other therapists, and they are all excellent. In this case personally, I wanted to be "led" unbiasedly: without any consideration/assumption that I "should know" this or that since the others "know" I'm a PT. Visits 1 & 2 proved to me why you see a PT before injections/surgery: immediate positive impact! I experienced a set-back after the visit 3 - of the exact same nature as to why I was unsuccessful when I tried to rehab myself. Anthony got me past this in ways that I'd never thought of! Week 3: still progressing, and Anthony increased focus on other components of my body to ensure long-term success (YES, core/pelvic/hip/leg exercises for my shoulder problem!). 8th visit/re-evaluation: 80+% better! Able to swim freestyle without problems over 4th of July holidays, pain is SO much less (I can handle intermittent dull aching), I no longer hesitate to use my arm (though it's still quite weak), and I'm now asking questions about working out! Anthony is so awesome: He listens, instructs, educates, set goals, and puts the plan into place. Though (as a PT) I think I could "take over" independently at this point, I'm continuing because I want to return to 100% and want him to keep leading me to ensure success. I started a version of push-ups (um, 7 visits ago, this thought was ludicrous)! Anthony reviewed other activities/gym exercises to try (or avoid), reminded me of needed rest/recovery periods and signs of when to back-off/stop. I don't know if I'll need to update this review when I am 100%, because I'm now feeling like nothing's going to stop me from reaching my goals! & Yes, should I experience any "hiccup" from this point forward, Anthony will bring me beyond it (full confidence), but this is why I'm still going to STAR PT! My story, done. Extra info for y'all: More about STAR PT...
