LOVE LOVE LOVE Big Sky. When our son was diagnoses with Autism (now PPD-NOS) and Speech Delay, the staff at Big Sky were able to get our son in for OT, Speech and PT. Seems like a lot, and it was. He needed it and improved by leaps and bounds. Ms. Michelle, his Speech Therapist was phenomenal. My son loved to see every one of his therapists and was happy to go back into the rooms with them. They all made therapy fun for him. All of them are phenomenal at explaining our 'homework' or things we can do at home to help assist our son and enforce what they do in the therapy room. We were sad to move away from the Austin area and miss Big Sky! My son started here at 20 months old and we're thankful to this day for the early intervention. read more

We sadly did not have an all around positive experience with this therapy clinic. If I was just reviewing the therapists we worked with I would be giving 5 stars despite their not being the best fit for my sons needs. This review is mainly about the rudeness I encountered from the the front desk employee Courtney. Without going into detail I will just say to the owner that I encourage you to put someone in that role that will treat clients with respect and dignity. It is stressful as a parent to have to be seeking out special care for your child and I would expect to be treated with kindness and patience from the people you encounter while there. read more

Big Sky is a wonderful therapy center! My son was diagnosed with a mixed expressive receptive language delay around 3 years of age. Zahava was with us since day one of his diagnosis. She is a superb SLP. Her commitment to helping children progress and succeed are evident in the care she provides. She was caring, patient and very knowledgeable and took time each session to discuss his case with me and answer my MANY questions. She really takes time to assess the individual child's needs and tailors the therapy to those needs as well as incorporating the child's interests to improve compliance. She was very caring and reassuring to me as a worried mother and she always provided me with tools to take an active role in helping my son at home which was very empowering. We also saw Ashley S. for some telehealth sessions during COVID and she was wonderful as well! She too was patient, fun and very knowledgeable. She tailored his sessions to his needs and brought in things he liked to make him more interested and it really helped him engage!! She was great and very caring! My son progressed a great deal in our time with Big Sky before we moved to Houston and I will always value and appreciate this therapy center. I highly recommend Big Sky! read more

We've had a wonderful experience using Big Sky for our two daughters' respective therapies. Our three-year-old has been working with Zahava in speech therapy for about eight months now and I don't have enough good things to say about her! Our daughter was speech delayed and had pronunciation issues and now it's like we have a different kid! She is so talkative, expressive, and confident in her abilities. Zahava is patient, fun, and so knowledgeable and we are so grateful for all the love and care she has shown our daughter. Similarly, Ruchie worked with our preemie baby who had torticollis and we had a fantastic experience with her as well. She gave us actionable and realistic exercises to do with our baby at home in between therapy sessions and we saw swift and robust improvement. She is so nice and works great with little ones! Can't say enough about Caren and the wonderful practice she's created. She helped us get through breastfeeding challenges and her therapist guided us through slight torticollis. Caren in particular was such a calming presence and took her time making me feel heard, observing our baby, offering her expert advice and following up with us regularly. We love Big Sky! After several months at another facility in Westlake, we were unhappy and decided to seek an alternative. OT was all new to us a few mos ago, but in that time we figured out the hard way what works for us and what doesn't. Communication is key - at Big Sky everyone is open and approachable, the facility is clean, fresh and inviting, and most importantly our son loves it! He is eager to go and happy with his experiences and he is only 4. We are confident in his care at Big Sky, and are so relieved to have gone with our gut and switched care providers. My son LOVES coming here! He gets OT, PT and ST multiple times a week for recovery from a stroke following brain surgery. All of his therapists are so enthusiastic, encouraging and fun - he doesn't even realize how hard is working. The gym and toys they have are great and varied, plus the therapists are so creative and knowledgable - he never gets bored. The waiting room is also a comfortable place to get work done (free wi-fi), read one of the many great magazines they have, or chat with other parents or the super nice and competent front office woman, Dori. From one mom to another - while I would hope you would never need such services for your child - if you do - you can't find a better place than Big Sky. People who love their jobs, are great at it, and care for the well-being and success of your child. read more

My son had an evaluation on August 3rd where we were told (and in writing given) an expectation of 7-10 days for consultation results. This was very important to me as had meeting with principal on August 14th needed these results for that meeting (or at least prelim report if full report not ready). It is now the 16th and still don't have the results. When I called, I was told that the expectation is 10 "business" days and they just hadn't updated this in their new patient welcome materials/packet. I was at the mercy of the school regarding meeting time, so had to proceed without these results. Thus, the entire endeavor seems pretty much a waste at this time as well as $400-500 dollars. The therapists were caring and we were 15 min late to appt (completely my fault as confused appt time) and they still worked with him. That was very kind of them. However, I will not be scheduling therapy sessions (if needed) with them. Not that they had the time, regardless, as would be in waitlist for any OT therapy time. On a side note, I also scheduled with Austin Learning Solutions (as I thought best to have a second opinion before making big decisions on school grade and therapy commitment ) and got full report that week. He has already had two sessions and is making great progress with his reading and writing. Thankfully, I was able to use that assessment for my meeting with the school and it was very helpful in creating the plan for the year. My final concern is that the delay in writing their reports compromises the quality of the report. Personally, as a physician, I don't let 48 hrs go by before completing my notes because you forget important details. I can tell you that writing a report 10-14 days after the patient was seen is definitely something I would consider substandard in my personal practice. read more

After months of sending my infant son here to treat his torticollis I'm finally getting around to writing a review. All the therapists here are amazing. I have worked with Brandi, Hayley and Kara and they were all very attentive, listened and made sure I was armed with information and was comfortable about my home treatment plan. They had excellent follow up to check in on our progress which I greatly appreciated. My son's "tilt" is almost completely gone and I can't thank Big Sky enough! read more

I can't say enough about Big Sky Pediatric Therapy! My daughter was born with a tight neck muscle which resulted in a flat spot due to sleeping in the same position. My daughter hated tummy time. I mean hated it!! Lisa was so kind and gentle with her and very quickly she started liking tummy time after a few sessions. Lisa gave me the tools to work with her at home to continue the progress she had been making. She is now 7 months old, no neck or flexibility issues and her flat spot has almost corrected itself without a helmet! We can't say enough good things about Big Sky and especially Lisa!! read more

We met Caren Arnold, and everyone else at Big Sky during a dark period in our lives. We knew something was different with our 2-year-old son, but only had questions, worry and doubt. Caren met our son and immediately began Occupational Therapy with him to help him with what appeared to be sensory processing issues. Caren worked closely with Will and picked up on a slight speech delay. On her advice we began Speech Therapy with Michelle Curtis. Caren and Michelle are both so, so good at what they do. Our son responded immediately to both OT and Speech. Big Sky is our only experience with therapy of any kind, and we are blown away by how nice, helpful and encouraging everyone is- from the first person you meet to the last you see they are all happy, upbeat and kind. We semi-jokingly refer to Caren as Will's second mother. Our son has since been diagnosed as moderately autistic and that diagnosis would have been a whole lot scarier without Caren and Michelle to lean on for advice and support. With them on "our team" we know our son has the best possible chance for a "normal" life and we feel good knowing we have answers, solutions and people (other than us) who completely believe in our son and see his potential. read more

It's not an understatement to say that Big Sky pretty much saved my family. Walking into their doors, I was so disheartened by my then 2.5 year olds' inability to speak, make eye contact, and continuous dangerous behaviors that I felt like I could break. The first moment I contacted them, Dori was friendly and so helpful with dealing with insurance matters and scheduling that I felt for the first time like I didn't have to fight, argue, or convince anyone that I needed services for my son. With Caren as his OT, my son has become almost developmentally on target verbally, less impulsive, calmer, less withdrawn, and most importantly, happy and affectionate! It's hard to remember what my life was like then but I know that finding this group was the turning point for us all. I have only great things to say about Big Sky. My daughter was referred to this place and another by our pediatrician for speech therapy. I called both places. The other place took 3 days to respond. I got a call back on the same day from Big Sky. My daughter got assessed by "Nadine" and she recommended once a week sessions for her receptive and expressive language disorder. My daughter is very shy but she immediately took to her. Nadine is amazing. She obviously loves what she does. She isn't afraid of getting down on the floor and she showed me techniques, books and board games to help practice at home to improve her speech. I can honestly tell you that the improvement my child has shown with Nadine's help in less than 6 months is astounding! I can't tell you how emotional it was to hear my 4 year old finally be able to tell me where she had pain or whether she needed help. If you're a concerned parent you would know. In addition, their receptionist (Brianna) and all other staff are always extremely professional and very nice. The financial department (Sarah,Kim and Dori) worked very hard to help with fees and insurance, and while I ended up paying in full because my insurance didn't accept the fees, I know the staff at Big Sky worked very hard, because every time I called my insurance company they told me that Big Sky was already working on it. Nadine also let me know when she thought the therapy was sufficient. She did NOT drag us in for extra sessions when my daughter hit the required milestones. In the end, every child's situation is different, but I can tell you based on personal experience that the people at Big Sky are extremely dedicated and will do their best to improve your child's situation as much as possible. We started going to Big Sky over a year ago for my then almost 4 year old son's stuttering. Melissa did our evaluation but I chose to go with another therapist. My reason why was because everything I had read said don't point it out to your child...you'll make them neurotic about it. Her approach was to point it out. We went for a while, he got a little better, then December rolled around, our insurance deductible kicked in again and we stopped going. My son's stuttering got REALLY bad and back we went. This time we did decide to go with Melissa. I wish I had the first time! Yes, she makes them aware of it, but I think alot of my son's problem was he just didn't know this wasn't acceptable. She is giving him such GREAT tools and methods for him to correct it on his own. She presents these methods in such a fun way that we literally do call his appointments "speech play". We have seen an immediate difference since he's been meeting with Melissa and we could not be happier. read more

We were at a loss of why our 5 year old was shutting down at school and thinking she was stupid. After working with Caren Arnold at Big Sky Pediatric Therapy, we learned she had Sensory Processing Disorder. Caren taught both my daughter, husband and I how to help her. She gave us at home tools. Our daughter is so much happier at school, and we are happier at home. Now Big Sky has been helping us work through some learning disabilities too. The best part is she wants to go every week. We have been to several different facilities... but when we walked into Big Sky... I knew right away that this place was a good fit. My sone immediately seemed interested in participating in whatever they asked him to do. This is always a red flag for me because his perceptions are always spot on. The last 2 places we went for therapy, he immediately tried to warn me that "this is not a happy place", but I dismissed it because I though he should at least give it a try first. But we were treated like just another face in the crowd. Working with Big Sky we have never encountered a negative person... everyone is always so willing to include my son and get his thoughts on how the session should go. They are patient with him, and follow his lead which usually helps him to be more cooperative with them.The patience of angels!! read more

We took our son to Big Sky because there were hardly any foods he would eat. His diet was so limited we were afraid of nutritional deficiencies and stunted growth. I was skeptical about anyone being able to get him to eat and was completely shocked by the progress they were able to achieve with him. It has been an incredibly experience and our son now eats a wide variety of foods. He continues to go for occupational therapy for some sensory issues and the quality of our family life has improved tremendously thanks to the help we have received through Big Sky. My son saw Ms. Carly for Speech Therapy here for about six months, and we couldn't be happier with the results. While he thought he was going to Big Sky to play, his speech was progressing by leaps and bounds. He was very sad when he was discharged and could no longer play with Ms. Carly. During our time at Big Sky, we also signed up for Dance Therapy with Ms. Leah, and it was awesome! Leah took his cues to craft each session, incorporating pretend play, reading and sign language. This place is Awesome.... I take my 5 month old here for Physical Therapy and they are the best. My daughter actually enjoys therapy and is usually all smiles and laughs during treatment. The treatment area is clean, organized and very attractive. The therapists are super knowledgeable and supportive. The give very reasonable and easy to follow home excercises. My daughter has shown more progress here in two sessions than she did in 3 months of treatment at another PTs. I cannot say enough positive things about this place. read more

I feel so blessed to have chanced upon such a remarkable group of therapists. My daughter has been receiving care and therapy from Big Sky for about a year and a half. We started there at age 9 months with a developmental delay and low muscle tone. We do PT, speech therapy and some OT. Between Caren, Alyson and Amelia, they facilitated teaching my baby how to sit up, crawl, walk and run. We also now see Michelle for speech and are making progress. Since we see the therapists so often, they know my baby much better than any of her doctors. They notice things about her that doctors don't pick up on in their quick appointments. I am certain that the reason my baby has come along so far in her development is because of her weekly therapy visits. She's always happy to be there and loves each of these therapists (and Dori, front desk extraordinaire and insurance expert!). The support they have given me as a parent has been comforting. They have been here through months of waiting for different test results from doctors... And they helped talk me through my worries and fears. I feel like Big Sky is our support team and feel very confident recommending them to any parent seeking therapy for their child. read more

This place has changed. While I will forever be grateful for the 18 months my son spent with Caren, the focus has changed from the individual child to maximizing business. My son currently does not comes to Big sky for OT as he started ABA. But i really want to write a review for Jodi Ritter who was the Occupational Therapist for my son. Jodi Ritter ( Awesome Therapist and i do not have words to appreciate her and thank her.) My son was having a hard time drinking from an open cup. Jodi worked with my son for just 2 sessions and my son got the hang of it. My son now has no issues drinking from an open cup. He does not spill any more and we always offer him open cup and he happily drinks it. This is all because of Jodi Ritter. I was always worried how my son will drink from an open cup and now i am so happy. I would say and will keep saying that Jodi is the best Therapist i have met so far and she will go to any extreme to make your kids do anything that they have not done before. Jodi has enormous patience to handle any kid. My son will be missing you Jodi. But if any issues i will always come back to Big sky for Jodi. Thank you Very much Jodi. read more

Both my children have been going to OT at Big Sky for several months now. They have been getting therapy for both Sensory Integration /spectrum conditions as well as for their arthritis/hypermobility. This has been a tremendous find for my children and me. Both the owners are very caring and a pleasure to speak with. My children's therapist (also an owner) is very pleasant, professional and nurturing .She has always taken the time to read information important to their care that has been provided by their other doctors as well as speak with them. When I have had any concerns she is open to talk to me. Is willing work things out and has never made me feel like I am being unreasonable. As for their progress they are doing extremely well. I am very pleased both as a mother and a medical professional with the expertise and treatment in this facility. Keep up the good work! read more
