It brings many of the same foods that drew people to the restaurant but makes them available around town at whatever business wants a food truck at lunch or dinner that day. When the restaurant closed its doors, the owners resisted pleas to make the recipes of their most popular dishes available because they wanted to bring those dishes, or adaptations of them, to their mobile venture. It's worked out. For some reason, I prefer the food truck to the restaurant. Not sure why, really. It doesn't matter anymore, though. Oktoberfest Imbiss has many of the most popular items from the restaurant and on special occasions, like the first day of Oktoberfest, a special menu to celebrate the occasion. On that day, the owners parked their truck at a local brewery. Perfect: Oktoberfest celebration, German food, local beer, and outdoor seating. It was a tossup between getting the Sauerbraten or the Schweinshaxe. I admit curiosity as to how they were going to get Schweinshaxe , a unique looking dish, in a container for those wanting to get it to-go. They managed. And it was delicious. I've tried a few things from their regular menu, some are hit or miss for me -- the German Poutine, a regular menu item and the spaetzle, a special-occasion dish are just okay. Just as did the restaurant, there also have the pretzel - the size of a small plate, schnitzel, and bratwurst. Never much of a fan of bratwurst despite having lived in parts of the country where it has its own place as a mandatory food group - I found the currywurst to be very good. It's slightly sweet, mild, and hits the spot when you're craving something that's easy to split into more than 1 serving. The sides from Oktoberfest Imbiss have two of my favorites. Sauerkraut and red cabbage. The red cabbage, without a doubt, is my favorite food from this truck. It's a red cabbage sauerkraut, but sweeter, made with apples and cloves, and is a colorful complement to the more neutral-color main dishes. I can forego the other things, but not this. I am obsessed with it. Oktoberfest Imbiss has my vote for a top favorite food truck. I'm glad the owners didn't give up on keeping a local presence and sharing their recipes..

I added a scoop of whey protein to my açai bowl and this may be the only place on earth that doesn't blend it in to the smoothie base... they just scooped it on top. Never before in my life have I experienced that. Quite odd. When you go to take a bite of it, your mouth blows it away like a powdery cloud, and it kind of feels like you're dry scooping protein powder. It gave me a good laugh, but I hope nobody chokes on it. I'm not sure if whoever runs this place has tried eating dry protein powder, but I suggest they try it and they will probably suggest blending it into the bowl in the future. However, the protein powder I got was absolutely delicious along with the rest of the bowl. The granola was perfect and crunchy and the fruit on top was so fresh

I don't have the impression they have anything pre-cooked; it's all made upon ordering. I like that approach because soggy fried chicken is not a positive. If you're in a hurry, it's probably best to order ahead. While I cannot say anything against the size of the chicken pieces, sometimes when I've ordered, I can tell the oil in which it's been fried is not fresh. It gives the batter and the fries an unpleasant taste that the sauces (there are various options) does nothing to hide. In those situations, remove the batter and the chicken itself is okay. The fries are crispy, which I rather like for some reason. Overall, Fingers and Fries is an okay food truck and a nice option from the burger, taco and Asian-food truck choices.

Yes, I've tried other things on your short menu, and those, too, are good, but it will be those nachos for me. I don't know why. Among the other things I don't know: the connection between the name of the food truck and the food itself. It's all okay, though, because the name caught my attention enough to give their food a try, and if I hadn't done that, I would have missed out on those nachos.

With options of pork, beef or vegetarian, the tacos are a wonderful alternative to the everyday. The Frybread is almost like naan in its appearance, but by the time the toppings are added, there's no comparison. Both times I've stopped at this food truck, I've been impressed. The vegetarian taco was delicious. With house-made beans, similar to refried beans, the cheese tomato and creama added a nice balance. Although the menu didn't mention it, either the beans had garlic, or perhaps the frybread, but the taco had an enticing aroma of garlic bread. The frybread was both crispy on the edges and soft in the center, just as it should be. For those with a sweet-tooth, the meal can be topped off with an order of honey bread or wojapi -- made with a Lakota Sioux berry sauce. Both are frybread based. Although I didn't have one this time, I remember the Wojapi as being sweet, but not overly so because the bread kept it from being too much.
