This is a new favorite! We got two pizzas for takeout One was just a pepperoni for the kids and the other was the Bianca pizza Oh my word. The Bianca was wonderful great flavor, fresh ricotta cheese, it was even good the next day The pepperoni was good too This pizza holds up. The Crust crisp to it but is hardy around the edges as well. I could've eaten the crust all by itself. They also sell pizza by the slice. I went by a day or two later and got a meat lovers and the cheese. Again, the crust was phenomenal, the ingredients were fresh. They don't chinche on the toppings, and the meats are quality The menu has so much more on there that I want to try. I'll have to come back. This is a cute place. It's not big but has booths and tables and feels very much like an old Timey pizzeria. It makes me want to come back and eat in the restaurant. Flavorful, HUGE pizza. I didn't realize just how big the slices would be until I picked up the pizza. This amazing pizza has lasted over a week since we are full after eating a slice or two. I definitely recommend checking them out. Online ordering and pick-up is quick and easy. We have ordered their Buffalo Chicken Pizza (added bacon, garlic, and tomatoes) and Create Your Own Pizza (added garlic and pepperoni). Their pizzas are reasonably priced at $20.95 and $14.95 respectively for their 18 inch special and create your own pizzas. The flavor of the pizzas was on point. If you asked for garlic you definitely got garlic. We actually regretted adding garlic to the Buffalo Chicken pizza since it covered the Buffalo flavor. Luckily we love garlic. For the create your own pizza, I requested the sauce on the side. They made the pizza exactly as asked. I loved how thin the pizza was and the overwhelming garlic flavor. I'm from New York so I'm quite picky about pizza. Overall, I find the pizza in North Carolina is decent enough compared to other west coast states we have lived in. We have our usual Apex spots that we frequent, but I was getting sick of one of the other places as the crust is a bit too thick for my personal taste. So, I was on the hunt for a thinner crust pie. We received coupons from Big Sergio's in our mailbox, the $19.99 deal for a 16 inch cheese and ten wings is what sucked us in. I can't comment on the delivery service from here as we almost pick up our food to save $. The pizza from here blows my taste buds away, it is so good! The crust is certainly more along the lines of what a New York pizza is. The flavor of the sauce is absolutely delicious. I appreciate just the perfect balance of cheese and greasiness. Fantastic pizza joint located in Apex. They have varieties of different choices ranging from pizza, pastas, subs, calzones, strombolis to even gyros. All for affordable prices. We got the 14 inch meat lovers pizza for 16.95 and the lamb gyro and buffalo chicken roll for 7.50 each. All tasted delicious. What I was most shocked at was the size of the chicken roll. It was absolutely gigantic - about a foot in length and like about 10 inches in circumference. Inside it was filled with grilled chicken, buffalo sauce, ranch, and tons of mozzarella cheese. The outer crust was baked to golden perfection and finished off with butter, herbs, parmasean, and garlic - so delectable. For the price and size of it, it was certainly a steal. That thing could feed two people alone. Needless to say, there was plenty of leftovers to take home. The staff was real nice and friendly. It has taken me way too long to try Big Sergio's. This pizza was great! We placed our order online for delivery and it was delivered within the provided timeframe. Food might be good.... Wouldn't know as after waiting in store for close to an hour I finally left and got frozen pizzas for Publix. Easily waited 90 for food between wait time in store and placing the order online. None of the staff was wearing masks either. I would give zero stars if possible. We ordered online for delivery tonight. We live 10 minutes from the restaurant. Estimated delivery was 6:30. At 6:45 we called for an update and were told it was on its way at that time. At 7:20 we called again and were given the run around. At first we were told they didn't have our order. Then we were told that it was just leaving. When my husband asked to speak to the manager, the manager refused to speak to him and put the phone down and left my husband on hold. Decent pizza, though poor selection -- I could not get two slices of mushroom because they said they only had meat lovers and Hawaiian made. They weren't interested in making any more apparently, even though any self respecting pizza joint has a plain cheese pie always ready so they can add toppings to order, but they couldn't be bothered at 2:30 in the afternoon. Dirty tables. limited selection of drinks, too. No sweet tea, except that terrible machine-dispensed Gold Peak, which they apparently don't realize isn't brewed sweet tea. Not impressed. Absolutely SOLID Brooklyn-style Grandma Pie. We literally get one weekly, Sergio's may as well sell us a subscription at this point. The consistency and ingredients are unrivaled, and the lighter Neapolitan crust is a game changing twist to the typically heavier square pie. We were in Cary recently, needing lunch and tried out Big Sergio's pizza, a little hole-in-the-wall place on Ten-Ten Road right off US 1 on the way into Cary. The food was awesome and the prices reasonable! I have eaten lots of pizza and I had the Classic! The italian sausage and sauce was great, they didn't skimp on the toppings- a good NY style pizza. I also had the small antipasto salad, which was one of the best I have ever had in any Italian restaurant, and that includes restaurants in Charleston, SC, Columbia, SC, Raleigh, and Florida. My husband had the beef calzone and he said it was pretty good too! It's a small place so if you are feeding a crowd, I'd order take out. They also offer loads of Italian offerings- check out the menu. I look forward to getting dinner and trying some of their other entrees and the Sicilian style pizza next time I am up that way! read more

Ever since I've arrived from Miami I've noticed Raleigh/Apex lacks good food. Pizza rarely goes wrong and Big Sergios surpasses expectations. Pizza is sooo good I could have a slice a day and not get bored. I eat every last bite. Even the crust. Unique to Sergio The Grandmas pizza is unforgettable. Must try. In a area where the 'New York' style pizza is over saturated, you need to set yourself apart from the rest, and especially if you are charging premium price for your product. Tonight we tried Big Sergio's Pizza for the first time, and it will probably unfortunately be the last. We were excited because of the excellent reviews and pictures that we saw here on yelp. Unfortunately we were sorely disappointed. We had it delivered to our house, however that should not make a difference if you are offering it as a service. We ordered a cheese pizza, a customized pep, cheese, mushroom, onion, and sausage pizza, medium sauced wings, and 2 liter of Sunkist. To be frank, the Sunkist was the best part of our meal... Both pizzas were bland, and cardboard like which had us wondering if there was any sauce on them at all. The ingredients were decent but nowhere near worth the $2 per topping that they are charging for them. The wings lacked sauce, were over cooked / dry, and the quality of chicken meat was also lacking for the price. We have lived in the Triangle for over 9 years, and this is probably hands down the worst pizza/wings that we have ever had here. Especially for almost $50... I hope that they make the proper changes in improving the products that they are putting out as I will always root for the 'Mom and Pop' shops over the chains. Good luck! read more

I placed the order for a pizza and lasagna at 11:30 on a Sunday, yes, the order doesn't start until 12. I was told the order would be ready at 12:25. Arrived at 12:25 to pick up order. He said lasagna wouldn't be ready for a few more minutes. It is now 1pm, we had to ask for the pizza at 12:40 as it had already been cooked. We ate in restaurant instead of taking home. Ordered a "14 meat lovers pizza and wings yesterday from DD. Pizza was excellent. It arrived really hot and I live about 3 miles away prob. The crust was crispy and chewy with that slight char you get on the outside from a seasoned oven. Sauce was light and a touch sweet. Good ratio of cheese and toppings. I've never eaten pizza in NY but I have a lot of experience eating pizza and I would bet this is about as authentic as your guna find in the Apex area. And split a 14" half cheese, half meat-lovers pie. It was more than enough food. Crust, sauce, cheese, and meats: pepperoni, sausage and meatball were delicious. Was very disappointed. I took an hour after I placed my order online. No one answered the phone when I tried to call. The confirmation said 20-25 mins. I waited 40 minutes in the store and no acknowledged the delay or offered an apology. The worst part is I hoped the pizza was as good as advertised. It was average at best. I'm a NY'er and know good pizza. Watching the cooks it was obvious there's no passion for the pizza they're making and the cooks didn't speak English. Not a good experience. Man, how the mighty have fallen. Before I get going on this review, let me say that we tried eating here many times after it started getting bad because we A. Didn't want to believe it And B. Wanted to give it a chance to redeem itself since we had loved it so much initially, and for quite a while. About 5 months back we called in an order for pickup, there was about 1.5 hours until closing (if you know me, you know I am not a fan of skirting in last minute when a place is closing, demanding food. I don't believe it's fair to the employees. With 1.5 hours left I felt fairly comfortable ordering a few dinner platters for my family. The young man (God saying that makes me feel ancient) who answered the phone was short and rude to me. I was pretty surprised at how curt he had been. When we picked up our chicken parm, the chicken was not cooked, it was grey and slimy and wet and awful. My husband kept breaking it apart in hopes of finding an edible piece, but there was none. My salad was mostly lettuce with 1 piece of tomato. Takes 2 and 3, we tried for the pizza. Both times the pizza was either dry or burnt and you truly had to search for the sauce and toppings. I'm pretty bummed because we loved it so much, our family from out of town loved it so much, and now it's just really disappointing over and over again.
