Definitley one of our favorite hotels ever…read more First impression was very warm and inviting, the lobby is beautiful and the staff is ultra professional. Unfortuntely, we were not pleased with the room they gave us (right next to the noisy front desk, view of the parking lot), so I requested something better (it was our 30th anniversary, after all) and they obliged, which went a long way with us. And everything was a huge thumbs up from that point on! The room itself spoke strongly to our aesthetics - dark wood, cozy, cabin-like feel, but with all the amenities of an upscale apartment, including a comfortable bed with cushioned headboard, well-stocked kitchen, full-size refrigerator, pod coffee machine, WiFi, two large screen TVs. And we had a great view off the patio/deck. There was no run-down furniture or bad carpet or imperfections in the wood or curtains. Everything was pristine clean, including the outdoor chairs and table. And everything worked perfectly and intuitively - lights, plugs, fireplace, shower (with great water pressure!), stove, small kitchen appliances, and a refrigerator that was super cold when we arrived. It might seem like these are all obvious things. But we have stayed in so many hotels, some quite expensive, that had all sorts of little things that didn't work right, were dirty or worn, or were difficult to figure out. Those little annoyances added up to big disappointments. The fact that everything was functional, clean, and easy here was a fantastic relief. Side note on the room: our one complaint was the pillows. Standard "bulk buy" flat flat flat hotel pillows. This is such a ubiquitous thing (the one and only exception I've ever experienced in the US was the Lotte Towers in NYC) that I can't really let it affect my review, but I did find it a little disappointing that they don't spring for better pillows. Service was wonderful. They sent up sweets and drinks on two different nights, as anniversary gifts. The doorman happily brought up our load of luggage, with door to door service. Front desk was always helpful and friendly - the with directions and recommendations and they sent up slippers since we forgot to bring any kind of slip ons to go to the pool. In the lobby, coffee is available in the mornings, fruit and water in the afternoons, and dessert every night from 7:30 to 9:30. We spent one late afternoon at the indoor pool and jacuzzi at the spa, and then made our way up to the 4th floor hot tub with mountain views. So beautiful and relaxing. We also visited Spur, which we did not enjoy, but I reviewed them separately and do not feel that should carry over into the hotel review. No question we will come back here when we visit the Tetons again!

We liked the variety of trail rides customized to each family members riding ability, and enjoyed the private river float with truly exceptional guides. We do recommend a car to explore hikes or sights around the area and venture into Yellowstone. And yes, the weather can be somewhat unpredictable - we got rained, hailed and snowed on in July... - and mosquitoes are plentiful. Just remember you are in the natural habitat of all sorts of wildlife.

We had fried cookie dough for dessert, but by that point even the fact that I'm technically eating for two I could only handle a few bites. On our first full day at the lodge we saw a moose with her two calves. Later, two juvenile red-tailed hawks frequently rested on the rocks by the creek that runs next to the house. A fox and deer visited as well. The manager of the property, Meg, was very accessible, and tended to all our needs. She is a warm, friendly person, as is Chef Renee. Breakfasts were quite a treat, and the evening meals were akin to fine dining. We planned our vacation for over a year, as this was our first extended family trip in quite a while. We came from Washington, Oregon, Georgia, and North Carolina. Wyoming and The Wildflower Lodge did not disappoint. None of us were ready to leave when our week was up. An epic vacation!

The other two were a newly engaged couple and the guide catered to them for the majority of the ride. I was the caboose and felt lIke the third wheel. He talked to them for 3/4 of the ride and I learned their life story. I was referred to " lady in the back". About 3/4 into the ride he finally asked my name and started to chat with me. The ride was nice and I felt very safe and he knew the horses and guided us through with confidence. I just wish I was not made to feel like a third wheel.

Super disappointing…read more.. All three entrees were wrong. My son and I ordered shrimp wraps after the waitress told us they were her favorite. We were served chicken instead, and my son's had tomatoes after he specifically asked for none. When I pointed out that both wraps were wrong, the waitress crinkled her nose and asked, "Will that be okay?" She clearly knew the order was wrong and seemed more interested in not taking the food back than actually fixing it. My husband ordered chicken and was served shrimp. His meal was eventually corrected while we sat for about 20 minutes with food we never ordered. I didn't touch my wrap. The grand solution? They removed one beer from the bill. So after three incorrect entrees, only one being corrected, and one meal sitting completely untouched, our lunch for three was still over $100. Terrible service, poor handling of obvious mistakes, and absolutely not worth the price. We will not be back.
