I've stayed at many RV Parks and this one is one at the top of my list…read more First thing, the sites are massive, plenty long for your biggest rig plus a few trucks or cars. Each site has a fire pit and picnic table. All sites are full hook up with 20/30/50 amp power. Their are 50 sites I believe that are spread out around a 1/2 mile loop so there is plenty of room and inverter the rows are a few large grassy areas great for hanging out or walking you dogs. They also have a small cabin and tent as well as tent camping sites for any passing through with no RV needing some dry camping. The amenities include a small bath house with 2 washers 2 dryers and a men's and women's restroom. They have firewood and ice for sale at the office. The park is mostly quiet, there is a little road noice on occasion when some big rigs pass by but for being as close to the road as it is it's not that bad. There are some great views of the lower section of the Wind River range also. They keep the park very clean and very well kept. They do offer weekly and monthly discounts (they will add on power for those stays) and if you are interested in staying through winter, have a few sites for those brave enough. Overall a great park with very reasonable pricing for the area with great grounds and nice staff!

Sinks Canyon is so named because of a rushing river that flows out of the mountains and through the canyon. Halfway down, the river turns (sinks) into a cavern and runs underground for 1/4 mile where it emerges in a pool called "The Rise". In the Rise there are Rainbow and Brown trout; the larger ones may weigh up to 12 lbs, but NO FISHING! For a quarter you can buy fish food to feed the fish, which is fun for everyone. A must-do if you are in the area! Also check out the Visitor Center. It is small, but is one of the best I've seen, and I've seen many. The wildlife is well displayed; and I loved the wildflower displays. The geologic rocks outside the visitor center are also A+. Well done, absolutely 5 stars.

I stayed at Rim Station in their RV area for 10 days and it wasn't long enough…read more I highly recommend it here for many reasons.... 1) The location is superb!! you are 30 Min from Pinedale and Hoback and under an hour from Jackson. At night it is dead silent and pitch black and amazing!! 2) There are so many amazing places nearby to be outdoors. Whatever you enjoy....hiking/backpacking, fishing, kayaking, off-roading, horse riding and more. 3) The store (what i think would be called a mercantile) itself of Rim Station has some amazing local items. Local beer, wine and spirits, locally produced clothing, jam and other foods and misc goods. They are such and amazing supporter of local businesses. 4) From an RV perspective, the sites are level, the water is clean and if your up for staying in western Wyoming in the winter they are open year round. its nice with only 12 sites it stays nice and quiet. 5) They have occasional awesome events here. While i was here they had a night of sprit taste testing, live music and amazing home made chips and salsa. It was such an amazing evening meeting with a few fellow RVr's, Local citizens, people passing through and the staff. 6) And the most important part, the staff here!!! I cannot stress enough how amazing the team that manage the facility, grounds and store are!! Every single one of them are absolutely amazing, so personal and so in love with this beautiful area they live and work in. Of everything that make this place special they are the heart of it all! This is not the staff from years past!! so if you were here pre 2019 (i think that is around the time they took over) please, please, please come back and you will be amazed at the transformation here. We had passed Twin Pines while traveling so we went back to see if they had availability. The office was closed so we decided to take an empty site for the night. In the morning the campground manager and owner were amazing. Super friendly and accommodating. She even gave us some breakfast, a fridge magnet and a sticker. Such great people. We had reservations for 2 nights starting Aug 12, 2026. We drove up late in the afternoon to find…read morea 'Closed' sign on the Lodge and no other paying guests staying there. A staff person met us outside the Lodge and directed us to our cabin and the washroom and said dinner would be signaled by a bell around 6:30pm. The cabin was very rustic and there were gaps around the door and in the walls that worried us about rodent problems with our food. When I went to the washroom building there were used towels and personal items in the shower area. Strange for a place with no other guests. When I went to use the toilet I found it full of excrement that appeared to be several days old. When called for dinner, the Lodge was still dark and we made our way to a long table with only 2 places set (no greeting by staff or anyone for that matter). We followed several other people (staff? workers? people living in the area?) in line for a buffet that consisted of ground hamburger stew and bagged iceberg lettuce. Our choice of drink was from pitchers of water or lemonade. The Lodge gets rave reviews for their burgers and cold drinks (beer, etc.) that are offered to day users coming off the hiking trails. This would have been a great improvement over the 'family style' dinner provided to us. After dinner we concluded that the service was nowhere near what was advertised and paid for and that the Lodge was surely closed (as the sign clearly stated and the lack of other paying guests indicated) and decided to drive the long, rough road out of there without staying the night. Definitely not worth the $791.78 that was charged for 2 people for 2 nights.

In other words, this creek is gorgeous--you must see it. I came to Jackson for a retreat over the weekend with Junior League CARE Fair directors and chairpersons. Every time we left and returned to our cabin, we got to enjoy this view. We even had the opportunity to walk alongside the creek. It was very easy and the view will vanish every worry you have. There are several well made bridges that you can walk/drive over as well. Area is very clean with crisp blue water. It didn't look too deep, but it was so perfect that to even dip my feet in the water seemed offensive to mother nature. Not to say I wasn't tempted. Overall, I probably wouldn't drive 5 hours just for this one creek, but the surrounding contains so many scenic opportunities that you have to hit up this place if you're in the area. Situated deep within the Gros Ventre Mountains east of Jackson and Hoback Junction, Granite Creek -…read morethe campground, the waterfall, and the hot springs - are pure Wyoming outdoors magic. Sure, the mountains here don't captivate you with their granite-tipped titillation, and there aren't the glacial lakes that you'll be mesmerized by in Grand Teton National Park, nor will you mistake this area for the magnificent Wind River Mountains, the Bighorns, or the Snowy Range, but my oh my, Granite Creek is one pretty, pretty piece of nature. The USFS campground is one of the best I've found in the northern Rockies, with great sites overlooking the creek and sheltered by pines and awash in wildflowers from mid-June to August. The Granite Creek Falls are powerful to behold: not ethereal like Yosemite or awesome like Niagra or Multnomah, but what they lack in vertical elevation and volume they make up for in up-close-and-personal intimacy. You can literally dip your toes in the raging white torrents that fall from above into a creek that is so pure and clean that moose, elk, bear, and cranes simply love to stay here. You'll also find a superb CCC hot springs up the road, where you and your friends/family can soak in bliss while enjoying easy access to the Gros Ventre wilderness a mere mile or so up the main trail that follows the creek to its source. If you are in the Jackson Hole area, a side trip to Granite Creek - on dirt and gravel roads well maintained by the Forest Service - offers you another glance at Wyoming's wild lands that you won't find at Grand Teton. The falls are a great side trip, as are the hot springs, and the campground is well suited for car campers and RVers alike. All in all, this is a part of the Cowboy State that I never tire of seeing, season in, season out. Who needs to stay in Jackson for hundreds of bucks when affordable, adorable places like this are so close and enticing?
