The golf course may be relatively cheap, but don't let that fool you. They keep the greens immaculate and they are running about 10 The staff is incredibly friendly, and the place is very clean. After you're done with your round, the pub outback has a view of the golf course and it's really quite nice. They have a nice tap with a bunch of beers. I'm coming back real soon. I do golf a lot of places that are really nice and this one really ranks with one of the top places in the desert I gotta say. read more

We were asked to leave after just one drink. I hadn't even finished a quarter of mine, and all the manager could do was apologize, saying that other customers were uncomfortable. Our group of six had only ordered one beer each, celebrating a birthday. The hostess apparently felt uneasy about one of our guests, and when we asked for the actual manager, she wouldn't even address us directly. I expressed my extreme disappointment to another manager before leaving. This was our first visit, and unfortunately, it left us feeling discriminated against. The manager claimed we "seemed" like we had too much to drink, but in reality, we had just finished dinner at a sushi restaurant and came to enjoy live music. It felt like they completely misread our excitement for the weekend and being in Palm Springs. I won't be returning to this establishment. read more

Best burger has been found! I am extremely fussy about burgers!! The Pub Burger with onion bacon jam, garlic aioli, gouda cheese is nothing short of amazing! It's hefty, has a lovely char (medium rare perfection) and a bun that holds together. We also tried the garlic parmesan smoked wings - delightful! Bunch of guy out for night while their wives attend a club function. Absolutely perfect for the occasion. Big sports bar with a bunch of cheap chinese guitars signed by famous people. Hard Rock Cafe on a budget, and that's alright. Everyone here was friendly and attentive. Seated right away and beer order in minutes. Music was too loud (for my geezer tastes) and the wrong era, but we were able to chat above it, so that was alright too. Everyone liked their food, but I have to shout out to the Gluttony Burger. Right from the menu: "beef patty, shredded pork, smoked bacon, cheddar cheese, house bbq sauce, fried onion strings, brioche bun." It is as good as it sounds. read more

This is a great place to go when you want a casual meal but above the normal regular bar food! The party I was with started with fried pickle spears and charred edamame. The pickle spears were tasty. Nice batter on them. The charred edamame was also tasty. It had a nice spice to them. For me it wasn't too hot, some it was a little spicy but not overpowering. The pub burgers were excellent! It had a bacon jam on it that was flavorful. Overall a fantastic burger. And if you visit this place in the future and they add on bacon wrapped pickle spears.. I gave them that idea!! read more

Been to this establishment a few times. From Sunday football games to watching entertainment on a Friday with our dog. Very kind staff, often more supportive to the dog (ha). Came to the Big Rock, a pretty cool-looking place. I ordered a quesadilla; it was big, overcooked, and had very little chicken. It was okay, but I'm not sure if I will recommend it or if I will pay 20 bucks for it again. My husband ordered a chicken sandwich, and it was massively big; he enjoyed it. We had three cocktails, and they were okay. I felt that the food and drinks were overpriced, and it took a while for our server to check on us. They had a band playing, martini .... I would like big rock to say upfront to their guests (before seated) that they have a 6 beer limit "policy" per table. However, keep in mind it doesn't state that ANYWHERE in this establishment. Yesterday (8/29), my friend and I were sitting enjoying food/music while waiting on more of our party to arrive but before they arrived, we received the bill that we DIDN'T ask for, the waiters response was "sorry, I don't want to do this, but it's coming from the higher ups". When asked to speak to Tanya (the manager) her bogus response was that she is sorry, but it is at the discretion of the waiter/waitress to basically cut you off. So which is it? Coming from the higher ups or coming from the discretion of the waiters/waitresses? I am FIRM believer on what you put into this world, you receive back in full circle, good or bad. So prior to that, I had paid for an older gentleman's tab, fell on hard times. Which is understandable, most of us have been there before. Anyway, his tab was $11 and some change, so I give Tanya a $20 bill. Then she proceeds to say, next beer is on me secretly so nobody can hear her instead of giving me MY change back. Then comes back later when asked about MY change, to say I'm not receiving it back because of the "FREE" beer. "Is that okay?!" Keep in mind, the beer was already brought out to me. But that's not the issue I have, my issue is about principle. At least give me the option to decide how I want to spend MY hard earned money, that I work for. What was your intention with MY money that you already had thought of doing?? It's about PRINCIPLE PPL, PRINCIPLE! My friends and family WILL NOT be back, sadly it's going downhill and lose tons of business with their outrageous "policy", & we've been coming here since it opened. read more

We just finished playing golf and the guy who checked us in at the shop was very flustered and told us we had to hurry and tee off (even though we were 15 min early) because they booked a tournament right after us. We hurried to the 1st tee and found that the guys who had the tee time before us hadn't even started yet, and we were all supposed to start so there would have been 5 of us. We split apart, relaxed, and all went fine. When we were finished, we went into the pub, and waited about 15 min before we finally gave up and got our own menus. When my husband went to the bar to get our order in, a server finally came over and scolded us that we hadn't checked in at the front (because we came through the golf shop) and we weren't allowed to order from the bartender if we were going to sit at a table (in the bar area). Then, when we finally got to order, I ordered the lunch special (which has no time limitations on the menu) and was told that I was too late. No apologies. Complete bad attitude. Too bad - we live close and was hoping to like the place and come more often. FOLLOW UP: While still at the restaurant, the manager, Tanya, came over and sincerely apologized for our experience. She listened to our complaints and took them serious. We were able to tell her about those employees, like Wilbur, who went out of their way to help out. Our food was good and we appreciated that the manager truly seemed to care. While we didn't ask, she comped our meal and let us know she would use our experience as a training moment. read more

First timer here! I'm shocked at how much I loved this place after initially walking in.... It has an old "hard rock" 90's vibe and odd entrance with real estate ads.... But once we were seated the service was great, the $6 appetizers were fabulous and our food was AWESOME for our mixed group of families and ages of kids. This place was a hit- everyone was SO HAPPY with the taste and quality of food! The golf course is gorgeous at sunset, and the bar was fun with TV's for the sports games, LOTS of guitars, autographs and memorabilia to look at. The bathrooms were some of the most unique we've ever been in, with guitars inside the top of the sink counters, and fun lighting. Our waitress/staff was SO patient and awesome with our large party and worked hard to accommodate all our needs! Drinks: great & unique cocktails- we loved the spicy jalapeno watermelon one, the pomegranate margarita was awesome too! Food Appetizers : deviled eggs, garlic knots, pork rinds and fried pickles were all loved by all the adults! We even went for a second round. The batter for the fried pickles/fish and chips was one of the best around.... Burgers are awesome, the bacon relish sliders yum, sandwiches were great and kids were all happy! In the evening there are different live bands. I can't forget to mention the outdoor Ambience, the seating is spectacular with great views of the skyline mountains and the golf course. SERVICE!!! by far we had the worst server we've ever had. Her name was YVETTE. She would be gone and we'd have to wait. 510 minutes to find her. She barely smiled. She acted like we were bothering her. None of your server smiled. The only employee that was nice was a bus boy and the hostess. They were three servers hardly anyone inside a few people outside they walked past you'd be waving your hands trying to get their attention so you could get your server to come over and they wouldn't look at you. They're rude. They're not happy and that false on management. You've only got a couple servers that are good. You have a guy, but I don't know his name, unfortunately and a couple ladies, but the ones you had tonight April 19 from 5:30 to 11:30. We're all horrible!!! We spent $145. We left $146 and we wrote on the bottom of the ticket. Worst service. We won't be back. read more

The service was awful. Our server made her busser serve us the entire time. And then after over $200 she had us cut off. Mind you, we were not drunk or obnoxious. We were nothing but nice, and had designated drivers. We also brought them more business and our DDs also ordered food. One of the supervisors came over, after we asked for the manager multiple times and she threw a fit for the whole outdoor patio to see. We were still being nice and cordial, just letting them know we were planning on coming back as regulars, but the service was bad as soon as we walked in. We were screamed at about where we wanted to sit, from across the patio. And at that point we should've left, but we stayed hoping the energy would change. It did for a moment, but again our server was barely present and we were served by the bus boy the entire time. He was pleasant, but unfortunately we will not go back. The experience was not great. Not to mention they were trying to sell $82 tickets to some cover band show. I could go to a nicer venue and see the actual artists for the same price and be treated better. Won't be back. Big Rock Pub is a fun golf course restaurant with a rich collection of signed "Rock N Roll" guitars and other paraphernalia. Gayle, Erin, Jim, and I recently stopped by for Lunch after walking through the nearby College of the Desert Street Fair. Big Rock Pub has a nicely varied menu, but overall we found the food to be just OK. 2 of the adults temporarily broke their diet by splitting a huge order of nachos with chicken (with a tortilla underneath). Even then, there was a to-go box, which was hand devoured shortly after our return home. I had a "small" BBQ chicken pizza, while another adult had a Poke Bowl. 2 Beers and 2 Bloody Mary's rounded out the meal, and one that some of us felt a little belly heavy. Our wait guy, was friendly, engaging, and did a great job selling the menu. I though he had a passing resemblance to an adult Manny on Modern Family. And of course, half the fun of this place was admiring all the "Rock N Roll" stuff, talking about the associated artists, and playing a little trivia. 3 of us are here for lunch for the first time today. As you walk in it's kind of cool, like a smaller "Hard Rock" with the records and guitars hanging all over the place. There are plenty of TVs to watch whatever sports you like. We sat at the bar and ordered some beers then moved to a table to eat lunch. We all said the food was OK, nothing special. I had the Chicken Cesar and it was underdressed but the chicken was really good. There was a Thai chicken salad and chicken strips ordered also and as I stated, all were OK. Great atmosphere and Decor. The server was an amazing man but I can't recall his name. He knew the menu and took our order by memory. We had the fried pickles with a think it was a peppered ranch and omg yum. My husband order the chicken sandwich which was delicious and we got a pizza for my little one. I wasn't a big fan or the red sauce but I'm not a big red sauces fan anyways. I got the carnitas tacos and those are the best I've ever had I mean I'm % going back for those and a beer. I do wish they came with one more since it's just tacos and no sides. The tv placement was great throughout the place so I didn't miss a play even in the restroom. At the end the manager brought my little one one heck of a dessert. She was in heaven!! Good place for family kids will love the guitars hanging but I think next time it will be a date night dinner spot. read more

Hadn't been here for awhile so dropped in for Happy Hour. Drinks & service were fine, but it ended there. I was served a chicken Caesar Salad that had absolutely no dressing on it. When I asked for some, I got about a teaspoon of dressing. Not near enough. Lisa ordered Ahi Poke Nachos that came drenched in marinade that made the chips soggy and unappetizing, the tuna was full of gristle making it tough to chew. She also ordered a fish taco but said it was fine. Doubt we'll return here, there are just too many great places in the valley that you can depend on for a great meal. This isn't one of them. In all honestly top 5 restaurants I've been in the world. I've traveled all over and can't believe I'm just now finding this. Food 10/10. Drinks 10/10. Service 10/10. To start when you enter the piano in the ground is unbelievable. The restaurant has so much memorabilia of rock stars. The food has so many options and the cocktails are so tasty. We brought a big group with kids and the servers were so kind. Everything is great value and super tasty. Wait till you have the ice cream with fruity pebble bowl!! Unreal. Side note. The bathrooms were better than Vegas. You could literally just hang out in there and be happy. So incredibly satisfied with everything about this place. Thank you for having us!!
