He toured the shop with us, answering our questions about bike maintenance. The other gentleman helped one of our group to find a new helmet-he was awesome when he said that your brain doesn't care what kind of helmet it is being protected by (only that it fit & you wear it). They did do an installation of a new stem immediately on one of the bikes that one of our group rode in on. Gateway Cycle offers a free demonstration class every Saturday morning 9:30-10:30. They will show you how to change a flat, proper lube practices & minor adjustments. Questions regarding maintaining your bike are welcome but it is a not a repair-your-bike-in-the-shop class. I liked the e-bike selection that they offered (especially when they do a maintenance check on the purchased bike annually).

Next? Oh, I forgot that I'm in Wisconsin. There's always a next in Wisconsin. Where I'm from, you usually plant yourself in one location and hope that they find your curled up self in a corner before they close. Such as it is, let's do this. As we made our way to the backside of the Garage, we find ourselves part of a scattered group of revelers who were all imbibing of the product. That product being, of course, beer. The equal of humanity. The handshake of nations. The reason for our visit. And for good reason, the purpose was to indulge, and that we did. My buddy suggested that we get a jump on the season and have an Oktoberfest. I had to remind him that it being the waning days of September, we were already in the midst. Oktoberfest was well under way. "Semantics, he said, let's just get a damn beer!" Good idea, John, good idea. We both chose an Oktoberfest. Ice cold it arrived to the bar mat, and ice cold it went down. The day was unusually warm for this time of year, so the cold beverage was a treat as we lounged in the Adirondack chairs under the tarp. This was the life. Not a care in the world. Relaxing and watching as the world passed by. Which included a string of pearls who were on parade. Each flaunting their late summer attire. An unexpected pleasure? Or is this the norm for The Garage Bikes and Brew. I'd say that it's worth a repeat visit. Wouldn't you? Quick Tip: There's a stage under the big top. Music can be had if you time it right. Seems our timing is never right. Such was the case on this occasion. The band was packing up when we settled in. We didn't pack it in though. We stayed and enjoyed the beer, and the scenery.

Another Woodbury bike shop had quoted me several weeks of wait time for a repair. As soon as I brought it into the shop, a friendly gentleman behind the counter asked me what I needed fixed. He immediately took my bike back to the repair area, fixed my gear in minutes, and didn't even charge me for service! I will be coming back here for all my future bike repairs!

He simply bent down and begin to fix it for me as he told me it wasn't as big of an issue and he could probably fix it right there! He is a cashier it seemed but was willing to simply fix my problem without making me go through all of the red tape. He fixed it but noticed one of the pieces was bent. Then another gentleman by the name of Mike said from behind him that brake looks a little bent and he could fix it for only $20 if you want me to do it? I was so thrilled by the care and the concern that was given to me to see me get my bike fixed and back on the road! They said they would try to get to it today... And they did it within a few hours and called me and told me it was ready!
