Great little hole in the wall barbecue place. Went in during dinner time, no wait and food was awesome! If you are in the commerce area, check out this place, it won't disappoint you!

Its billed as a bbq joint but its more. Menu has pork bbq, hamburger, ribs, wings, chicken, fries, mac n cheese, slaw, beans and chips. Its decent for a lunch spot. The inside is nicer than the outside would lead you to think. The waitress takes your order and best part is they leave a pitcher of tea on the table for self refills. They have the type of brunswick stew I like, thin not chunky. The food is fine, not ground breaking but good. I'd go back.

If you're looking for the BBQ dive style restaurant shack then this is your place. Walking up I…read morecould tell this was going to be a fun place but it also had amazing BBQ. There is so much space in the front with cornhole boards or just to hang out. When we walked In I could tell this was going to be amazing BBQ. Writing on the walls and chairs, menus board hanging on the wall and daily specials written on chalk boards. Or orders were quickly taken by a very efficient hostess the. We grabbed a seat. I ordered brisket and pork with collards and cobbler. My wife ordered the same with the grits and my son had the side of Mac and cheese with his brisket. The brisket slices were think and it was really well cooked. The pork was awesome but the sides were out of this world. Every single one of them was perfect. There were four BBQ sauces to choose from, Eastern NC style, hot, mild and mustard. I am not a huge fan of mustard BBQ (I'm from NC, IYKYK) but I'll say this was the best I had. The hot was my favorite and it had just the right amount of heat. For those that may be concerned about the description of the writing on the walls and divey spot don't be. The place was clean and very nice. The health rating was great and it was a really nice place.

Expect a little bit of a wait but they have outdoor cornhole games and putt-putt while you wait. I'm not the biggest fan of brisket when visiting BBQ restaurants but theirs is amazing and I highly recommend it! I learned the hard way on my first visit and my son allowed me to try some of his. The sides are very simple but they compliment the BBQ. Fried okra was fresh and cooked to perfection. The jalapeño cheese grits are unbelievable and a must try! Service was a group effort by several waitresses who took good care of us. If you ever near Clemson, I would definitely make this a stop.

We were driving down 441 last week and remembered the sign at 59 pointing toward Smitty's. We said,…read morewe should go. in my email box this week is my weekly Yelp suggestions and what is at the top? Smitty's! It is a "plate of shrimp" moment of off we go. Smitty's is about a mile up 51 from the biggest truck stop interchange on 85. The building complex is a very cool set of older buildings that look like a barbecue restaurant. There is a giant stack of wood outside so this looks promising. When you go in, seats yourself and someone will be there to serve you right away. The menu is typical barbecue fare with a couple other items too. I ordered the brisket plate, Megan had a chicken fried steak. The brisket was tender and smokey with a little salt and pepper in the seasoning. It was good and meaty. The fries were good as was the okra. The stew was flavorful with tomato and corn. Megan's chicken fried steak was very good. It was beefy and tender and cooked just right. Her potato came with big cups of butter, cheese, and sour cream. And she ate her whole salad. This was a special road trip for use because of the Yelp suggestion. But if we are back in the area again we will defiantly hit them up again.

Just a post (3/12/26) if you are looking for pulled pork or anything like that, call ahead. They only had hamburgers, fried fish type bbq joint food. They were out of anything smoked for a bit of time.
