I've never had a bad experience with Big O Tires, but the people that run this location are very shady. They are highly unorganized and have terrible customer service. In September, I dropped my car off because my tire had a slow leak. It took 3 days to get my car back from them. Day 1: I get a call from Victor and he tells me the tire has a crack in it, that there was an issue with the axel (the issue was actually the a cracked rim but he didn't seem to know that at the time). He tells me will need to be kept overnight because a new part will need to be ordered. Day 2: The next day I don't hear back, so I call them. The guy I talk to tells me they didn't get the part yet, but he'll "check". He then tells me the part actually just barely came in and it will be ready tomorrow morning. Day 3: I get two voicemails. The first one is to inform me they are having trouble getting the tire on but apparantly they managed to figure it out because I get a second voicemail telling me my car is done. I go to pick it up and the geniuses that they are, tell me they hadn't started on it because they ordered the wrong part! It turns out it wasn't wrong, it just wouldn't match my other rims and they had ordered the correct rim but it would take another day or two to get it. You think being in the tire business they could get it right on the first try but this location hires very special people. I demanded they fix my damn car. The manager was very unprofessional. He tells me he got my rim used from a junkyard because he's such a nice guy and is trying to save me money. He did all this without consulting me or quoting me a price for a new rim compared to a used rim. His guys waste my time and he has the audacity to tell me that this isn't McDonald's and fixing cars takes time. They sure were able to fix my car in a timely manner, once the rim situation was handled. It took less than an hour! Then he charged me a $50.00 core fee to keep my own rim and threw it in the back seat of my car, because he didn't know how to open my trunk. This location must be doing some stuff on side to stay in business, because taking care of their customers is not a high priority. These guys will waste your time and then overcharge you. They are so rude my brother whom is a minor came out crying because the the rude manner they spoke to him I'll never go here again and hope my review hurts them enough so where they learn how to treat people especially minors we don't have a lot of money we can't just replace a car sorry we aren't rich like these jerks it's time they learn this as well read more

!!!UPDATE!!! 3/10/2024 from original 12/22/2023 Post You can read BIG O Tires customer representative's response to my exact review posted here on YELP going back to December 2023. The same review is on Google Reviews however BOT chooses not to leave a comment like here on Yelp Now for the karma. I was referred to Kwik Kar Complete Auto Care on Hill AFB, Utah from family. Monty (manager) and his team were simply the best. Empathetic to my story, in less than a hour they found many issues. First there were missing securing bolts on many parts of the under carriage of the engine area. Those that remained were stripped by drill recently and to top it all off a part of the power steering system, was sabotaged . Kwik Kar not only showed me all of this but went on the record that whoever signed off on this knew without a doubt the work done before. The sabotaged part was a high pressure hose for the power steering system. The new hose was the wrong size! Too big and made the problem of leaking fluid even worse by now falling through the engine, worsening and compromising other parts of the engine. Funny thing is the management at BOT mentioned that they would have to replace the hose after the problem was never fixed from 6 months ago when I took it to their shop. This I believe was the problem all along, a replacement hose, because the problem was never resolved nor improved with all the money I gave BOT. I left the car with Kwik Kar for the parts to arrive and after 2 hours of work the job was done. After over 2 months now my car is in perfect order. Kwik Kar replaced the bolts and cleaned up the fluid mess from BOT and confirmed that no other fluids were leaking. That was BOT defense, that i was the irresponsible owner and that the fluid leaking in question was oil. Funny that my car would go from one liquid to another the same day its supposedly repaired with the same fluid and amount leaking in the exact same spot. I'am most grateful for Kwik Kar. I had a nail in my tire and didn't know until it was after 5pm the day after Thanksgiving. I had an hour to get to from Ogden to Salt Lake for a dinner reservation and they had several cars in line. When they pulled the tire they showed me it had to be replaced and since I knew that tire had been replaced a year ago and barely driven I was unhappy about having to replace it again so soon. I agreed to replace both tires knowing the other side had never been replaced because it was a more unique tire, which I never ordered or got back in to try to replace it. What I DID NOT KNOW (or didn't remember) was that they rotated the tires on the back to the opposite side when I had the front ones replaced. The tire with the nail was actually NOT the new tire like I thought it was. Martin went to see which tires would be best to place where (I think expecting to put the new ones on the front and move the front ones backwards) to have the best wear on all the tires. He realized the opposite rear tire was very new and came in to tell me WE ONLY NEEDED TO REPLACE ONE TIRE. I was very grateful for the news. Many shops would have told me they replaced but didn't or would have taken the almost new tire and resold it and make a nice profit from it knowing I would never be the wiser. I deeply appreciate their honesty, that they quickly took care of us and we were back on the road much quicker than I expected. All of the employees were very friendly and polite. I was also very impressed by Ikea in the shop when he came to talk to me and determine what they needed to do to help me. I know where I will be going if I need tire service again. This is a follow up review. I brought my car in for tires and some routine fluid maintenance items including the engine oil, and gearbox fluids. I traveled a short distance from the store and my transmission went out. I had no previous problems so I naturally figured something was wrong with the service done on my transmission. I brought it back to the store and after some investigation they determined that they would have to replace my transmission. My last review was before my car was completed so I am going to acknowledge that they fixed my car and did a good job. They Even put spark plugs in at no charge to me as a way to make sure that they went as far as they could to make sure that I was happay with the outcome. This was a big problem for everyone involved but Steve and Melissa, in the end, made great strides to make sure that I was satisfied and I appreciate that they did go the extra mile. So even though it was a big problem for me originally, it was resolved and the business acted appropriately and as expected. So I wanted to make sure that I made this review. read more

Don't recommend, apparently they're like doctors when it comes to an appointment, set one up for 11am for a 4 wheel alignment, thinking I'm giving myself enough time before my next appointment, and I had to ask them why my car was still sitting there a half hour later. The lady at the front said they had one on the rack before me, and they left about 10-15 minutes ago and that mine was up next. So when you make an appointment, expect to be there a lot longer because they tend not to get you in on time knowing you have an appointment and don't respect your time at all. I understand you want to help people but don't make someone wait that was scheduled to get someone in quick that didn't and then make them continue to wait even after the person leaves. Why only 2 stars for a 5 star company (according to their website...)?? I wrote a review a month ago after receiving the email they sent requesting I do so...I believe since it was a 3 star review on their site, they will not publish it...nor have I heard anything from the owner. So to know a business hides or disregards anything lower than a four star review, makes me wonder how many other reviews are hidden...just to keep a good rating. How about talking with the customer and figuring out a way to help them? Several reviews have been published since I wrote and submitted mine, and I have tried from different platforms; no way it hasn't gone through. Sketchy practice if you ask me. At least I know Google doesn't hide reviews. If you're still curious about my thoughts on the company and why I won't return...below is the 3 star review I have submitted many times that they are hiding: First off, thank you for the tire repair. But there were a few things I was not that happy about. I made my appointment online and in the comment section had information written down about my warranty, if needed, and I wanted to know if that covered a rotation and balance. My appointment was never found so the store had none of my information nor did they know I was coming in. The rotation and balance was never acknowledged. Thankfully they still took and fixed my tire. When I came back to pick up my jeep, the VERY first thing I noticed was a nail sticking into my spare tire (which was now mounted on the back of my jeep. So obvious!!! Absolutely shocked the guys doing the repair and swap missed it, or IF they saw it, never bothered to mention or fix it. I didn't have enough time to stay, but I think I'll be going elsewhere for my next repair or any tire needs. read more

I needed 2 tires . I didn't meet the manager until the following day. After they took 2 hours to put on the 2 tires I told the tire service person that I hated the tires and they looked nothing like I had, which he says are very comparable. I went back the next day and the manager was there who was happy to put my original 2 tires on for 75$ . I waited over an hour and paid . The computers were not working so I left trusting I'd receive the refund for the 2 tires . I did see it few days later whew. I have had great success at the north Ogden Big 0 . Had a blow out on the interstate and needed the tire fixed or replaced. Tires are Big O brand and maps indicated this location was the nearest one to where I was. It was in the evening and I arrived about 40 minutes before closing time. Guy behind the counter was on the phone when I arrived. He ended his call and stepped in the back for something and returned about 5-7 minutes later. It was 530pm and I noticed the crew was shutting the tire bays down. Told the guy on that had been in the phone my situation. He told me that I would have to come back another time because they were closing. He acted as if I was a nuisance for even coming in to the shop. Big O shops are usually top notch, but these guys did not seem to care if they had business or not. I realize it was almost closing, but there was more than enough time to check the tire and fix or replace it under the warranty. Avoid this place. read more

These guys are not honest. I took my car in for an alignment and asked for a brake inspection due to brake dust on the fender panels, and the mechanic said I needed new rotors and pads. He called me back to the shop to show me. I couldn't see so I asked him for a flashlight so I could inspect and he said he didn't have one. Then he said I probably needed shocks too (up sell). I told him the dealership measured 8mm of brake pad just 4 months ago so it was impossible for it to be metal on metal. I went up front for an estimate and he told the cashier to include an alignment and shocks. I told him no. I took pictures and send them to the dealership for their opinion and the service manager said I still had 7mm break pads left and the rotors where typical for my car. I've worked on cars for 40 years and know it's impossible for the brakes to be in the condition he claimed. If someone didn't know better this place would have soaked them with a $1500 bill. my mom has been coming here for years for her car maintenance and has never had any issues up until this month. My mom took her vehicle in for maintenance and was told that she needed a new transmission and stated that she should not ever drive her car because it could leave her on the road. The mechanic quoted her $4K for parts and labor. This left my mom uneasy and said that she would get a 2nd opinion prior to approving the work. My mom purchased a refurbished transmission elsewhere and took her car to a friend who is also a mechanic. At the end of the day, she never needed a new transmission; all she needed was new roaters and after replacing this, all she paid out of pocket was $100, including parts and labor. I am really disappointed for how Big O Tires lied to my mom and she was ready to pay this large amount when is really was not necessary!! Taking our business elsewhere!!!!!! read more

Went in for emissions and inspections. J.T. the assistant manager who helped me was awesome! Super fast and really helpful. I failed the inspection due to a cracked windshield, got it fixed and they got me right back in the next day free of charge. I went to the Big O 1893 N Washington Blvd., Ogden, 2/9/17. I was immediately greeted while getting out of my car, and informed Matt that I had a flat tire on my month old, Ford Escape. He informed me it was the side wall and unfixable, and made an excellent offer on new tires. I called my husband, who informed me that we had purchased extensive road hazard coverage when he purchased the car in January. I had also been recently rear ended in my new car, and so his staff had to crawl in the back door to reach the spare tire, and put it on for me, and wrapped up the damaged tire and placed it in the car. (the lift gate could not open). I then drove to the dealer and received a new tire. I felt Matt took really good care of me, and also spoke to my husband about the damage on the phone! Several months ago I went there for tire repair, and when my car was finished, the young man working held open the doors for me-the one to the building and the one to my car!! I thought that was outstanding! I will always return to this Big O, I receive the best care, for years. read more

0 stars for this location! Do not go there! They are dishonest! My 87 year old mom took her car in to have it checked out for winter and after looking it over was told everything looked great. The next morning it was leaking oil! She took it back and was told it needed a $400 repair. I called JT and he was immediately on the defense stating how honest he was and that people make mistakes. He would not listen to my concerns or even consider having another mechanic look at it. His honesty had not been questioned. I just wanted some consideration as it seemed a little suspicious that all of a sudden she has an oil leak after leaving her car with them. My brother ended up taking it to his trusted mechanic and he tightened a cap and she has had no further problems. You have to be pretty low to try to take advantage of an elderly widow! read more

First off, I have always had good experiences with Big O Tires. I have been a customer for over 10 years. Today I went into the 4th Street store and waited for over 10 minutes for the gentleman in the sales area to finish a personal phone call and was not welcome to the store or even acknowledged as he chatted away. I was one of 2 customers waiting for help. When he finally got off the phone he just looked at me and waited for me to state what I needed. I asked how long the wait would be to get the emissions done on my vehicle. He glanced out into the maintenance bays where several of the techs were texting/playing on their phones and said "probably an hour." Of course it will, no one was even working. I said never mind as I had a toddler in tow and went down a block to the Jiffy Lube on 12th street. I was welcomed, and was in and out in under 20 minutes. So disappointed in this location of Big O Tires. I will not return. read more

I am huge into customer service, as my husband and I both work in the field. To see the level of caring that this location gives to its customers is astounding!!! I was there with my 1 1/2 year old, and never once did they look down on me when my little one ran into the back where he clearly didn't belong. Also, I witnessed one of the workers get cookies out of his own lunch box to give to another little boy who has having a hard time waiting for his car to be done. But the best was when an elderly women came in worried about her car because her tire was making a ticking noise. It was a busy Monday morning when they were swamped. I knew, as I am sure the workers knew, that it was probably a most likely a rock in the tread, but these men took the time to put the car on a lift and check it out to make sure it wasn't a flat. They then took it for a drive to make sure they didn't see or hear anything else before she went on her long drive to Salt Lake City. Absolutely impressive!!! I will keep coming here with my SUV, Truck, camping trailer, and 4-wheeler. read more

JT was super nice. And that's where the good service ends. I went in to have a flat fixed, it was not fixable. They said I needed 4 new tires since my car is AWD. Priced me out for that and I came in the next day to get the new tires and an alignment. It took 4 hours, yes-4!, to have my tires changed because they were "short handed" and I had low profile tires. I get they have to say something as an excuse but they failed to communicate that to me until 2 1/2 hours in. They said it wouldn't be much longer. I finally lost my patience and very politely told them it was ridiculous that it took so long. I was the only customer there for about 2 hours. I've had tires on this same car changed before and it took LESS THAN AN HOUR. All I got when I spoke up was "I apologize-there's really no reason it should've taken this long". JT wanted to give me a free oil change; I politely declined. I will NOT be back. I feel taken advantage of and $750 later I feel like the fool. Plenty of other places you can go to for tires. They don't care about their customer service. Only about selling you a new set of tires. Which, I might add, I saw another female customer had a "non-repairable tire" so they priced her out for a new set. Kudos to her she didn't take the bait. read more

About 3 months ago I went in for a full tire replacement and alignment for my wife's car and they were very helpful and courteous. All of the work was completed and the alignment before and after results were clearly explained. I appreciated this a great deal. Fast forward 3 months, I had taken the car into the dealership to have a complete inspection done of the suspension and I was surprised when they told me how badly one tire was worn and even more surprised when I saw it. I took the car back to this Big-O where they started a review of it and then when the warranty review was done a few days later they said to bring it back in. I left it with them and later when I returned and we did the paperwork I found that along with doing and verifying another alignment they didn't just replace the one badly worn tire but they did all four! When I asked why Jarrod told me that they wanted to make sure there were never any questions about the tires or the work. The tires all needed the same wear levels and they wanted to make sure everything was correct. This was far more than expected yet greatly appreciated. Thank you all! I'll go back again. read more
