When I ordered the tires on.the phone, I was upsold to have insurance. The day I went to get the tires put on, I said that I could go with out the insurance and asked the counter clerk to not include the insurance and to make sure not to charge it. He said that would be ok. When I went to pay, insurance was charged. I spoke to the manager,, and he said it was impossible to remove the insurance. I checked Big O corporate policy, and the policy stated it was up to the manager. So truth is that he lied, he just didn't want to remove the charge. Next time I went back for a tire rotation, I didn't agree to another upsale. He lost it for a second and threw my keys on the counter and then regained composure and told me my warantee would be invalidated. I don't trust this location or its manager so I checked AI if the upsell service was needed, which it wasn't needed. I do not to trust AI all the time, but I trust this manager less. I do not recommend going to this shop. Perhaps a new more respectful management style that engedered trust would improve its rating.​ read more

I brought my vehicle into Big O Tires for a simple tire balance and alignment on my existing tires -- no new tires were purchased. After leaving, my tire pressure light immediately came on (which was not on before), and my car drove noticeably worse than when I arrived. Concerned, I took my vehicle to a trusted independent mechanic. They confirmed that my tires had not been properly balanced, requiring a full rebalance to fix the issues Big O Tires was paid to address. It's extremely disappointing to pay for a service and leave worse off than when I arrived. Not only did I waste my time and money, but I was also put at unnecessary risk driving on improperly serviced tires. I expected better quality and accountability. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this Big O Tires location. read more

I thought I could trust Ryan for the last 10 years but recently he did some work on my Audi A4 and he charged me $1600 to fix the fuel pump. I was in a bad spot because I needed to have my car towed to the shop and I trusted him and he ripped me off completely. I later than found out the OEM part for the car was only $300 brand new I could've had a buddy help me fix it over the weekend. Next story maybe to help another victim last summer I had my AC replaced with him and he charged me ridiculous amount. I asked last summer you fixed the AC but it's not working this summer? He said oh it'll be another $1,000 dollars!?! Nice try I went to AutoZone spent $70 and fixed it myself in the parking lot . And a couple years back I had oil leaking from my Audi and I took it to him and he said oh it's got to be the oil pan gasket and oh course charged me his ridiculous $150 diagnostic and $500 dollars later still continue leak around my engine was overheating.. I brought it back to him. He said oh it's actually the oil cooler well about $1,500 later they finally did the right job. It's just unbelievable. His whole excuse was I bought an expensive car so labor on it must be expensive to fix? Laughing that is so untrue, find a good honest mechanic that take care of you that won't be misleading or dishonest Ryan, your old motto that used to have above your station good work is not cheap and cheap work is not good. Well you do cheap work and you charge an arm and leg for it. I will never return to your shop and I'll be letting all my friends and family know how you mistreated me and stole my money and put me through hell to get my car fixed on all these different occasions used to be years ago really honest seem like and that you were trying to build your business , not anymore have let greed get the best of you. I hope that you sleep well at night ripping off loyal customers that have been with you for years and I hope new customers that are maybe thinking about coming to see you will go anywhere but your place because that's exactly what they're going to get is ripped off. read more

horrible customer service. i went in with a simple question about some new tires and asked if they could figure out what size my aftermarket rims were so i could get some tires on them. two of them seems very annoyed with my question and weren't being helpful. i continued to ask if they could find the size so i could get quoted for some tires. they replying with "well we probably could do that but i don't really want to right now" unbelievable. i've also taken other vehicles over there and they are always in a bad mood and never nice. prices are not cheap either. don't go here!!! read more

On my way home from work, I hit a construction pothole that destroyed my run flat tire. I pulled in to Big O minutes before they closed on a Friday, but they were very helpful and kind. They let me know that my tire had a gash in it that would require the tire to be replaced, but the remaining tires were still new enough that only the one tire would need replacing. They were able to place the order for my new tire, and made sure I had what I needed out of my car. First thing in the morning, I got a text informing me my car's tire had been replaced. They also checked the alignment and shocks because of the type of damage to my tire. Everything was fine, and the only charge was a new service warranty for my new tire. Thanks for a great experience. We'll definitely use this Big O location again. read more

When we bought our new truck we knew it had to get breaks and rotors replaced per our pre purchase inspections from multiple mechanics. We received some quotes and shopped around for some prices and found Big O to have a good deal. After we took the truck in, they called us back and said their original estimate was wrong and weren't going to work on the truck until we had the opportunity to discuss the new price. We found a better quote elsewhere and we're going to take it to them until Big O price matched which was awesome. After that was done, Jake let us know about the bad lug nuts on the truck. The next day the brakes were making some noise so I too it back in and they were able to confirm that it was just the normal dust between the new pads and rotors. They also had a great deal on new lug nuts which they took care of as well. Since then, we've done a drive to California with no issues read more

For the past two visits this location has refused to replace my break light every time I ask. Their excuse EVERY time?! "Sorry we're busy" No you're not, that's not an excuse when this has happened multiple times. On top of this last experience BIG O BROKE MY GLOVE BOX. I enter my car after they're finished and everything in my glove box was spilled all into the floor and the glove box unhinged from the car itself. They are very unreliable, legitimately this location needs to be run out of business. Cancel them. read more

Your employee, Chase, made time to fill my tires for free, even though I came in on a Friday night at closing. Chase gave great customer service- he let me know what the air pressure was on all my tires before he filled them. Chase definitely deserves a raise! I plan to return here in the future. read more

Running errands with my wife when my warning light comes on. I quickly pull into a tire shop to see if they can patch my quickly flattened tire. My tire were shot so they couldn't patch it. While at the tire shop I called the American Fork Big O to compare prices and got Ryan. He quoted me a better price for a better tire so I put on my spare and drove to American Fork. It was worth the drive! They had me on the road quickly and I saved money with a better tire and tire warranty. Best customer service and peeps I know I can trust. read more

I came in for a quote on fixing a grinding noise on my car. Ryan quoted me over a grand for things that weren't even the issue. He told me it was an upper and lower control arm and a ty rod. Turns out, that's not the problem at all. IF I would have believed him and went with the work, I would have had to come back later and pay more money to fix the actual problem. He is way too eager to rip people off for his benefit instead of helping people and being honest. He was wearing a CTR ring. Kind of comical. Be honest, do better. read more

Looking for a shop that will upsell you on things you don't really need? Then this is your place! I am very observant when it comes to my vehicles. I pay attention to all unusual sites, sounds, smells and vibrations. I've repaired several things on vehicles throughout my life, so I do know my way around a vehicle. I went in for for a safety and inspection to renew my registration. They told me I needed a full brake job on the front and failed my inspection. I knew my brakes were ok, so I declined their upsell and opted to take it in to a different shop for a second opinion. Sure enough, my brakes were adequate, and weren't metal on metal like these guys claimed. They gladly passed it without question! To the shop: This could have been opportunity for a return customer and positive review, but instead another review to bring your ratings down. Don't take for granted the power of social media, this could have gone a totally different way. read more

We are RVers, and as we all know, loss of time on vacation is no good. Found a nail in my tire, and accidentally found this place (we are from Florida). They took me very quickly, pulled the nail (and yes it leaked air), and while they told me they don't "plug" these kind of leaks, they would fix it with a patch inside the tire. This will cost a lot more, I thought, but it will be a safer repair. Work completed within a half hour of starting, I was on my way. NO CHARGE!! That is the company policy. Next time I buy tires I'm looking for the Big O. Hats off to Kim Howard and the crew! read more

I have been a customer of this shop for 20 years, but no more. It has changed ownership a few times and the latest change appears very dishonest. Multiple times now I have been told I needed $400-$1,000 in work (shocks, struts, brakes, etc.). The last two times I have taken the truck to a different shop only to be told that none of the prescribed work was needed. The manager Ryan comes off as too slick and eager. It's gotten so I haven't gotten tires rotated as I should because every time I go in they tell me I need major work done. Most recently I went for a rtire rotation and was told my rear brakes were down to 1 cm and the rotors needed to be replaced. I pressed about how how bad the rotors were and the tech finally admitted that he hadn't actually looked at them. I just took the truck to another shop and they swear that the rear brake pads have half their life and that the rotors are perfectly fine. Too bad. I used to feel like I could always get the straight skinny at this shop. The good news is that I have found some other places that have multiple times sent me out the door with no charge even though I went in thinking I had to have work done. read more

Bought new tires and explained that I was going to go on a vacation to Alaska and carry a 1500 pound popup camper in the back. I think he misunderstood or something. Recommended tires that are are not going to work. Their advice was to have air bags installed. The issue is the tires are bulging. I called and he kept asking what my towing capacity was. I kept explaining that I am not towing, I'm hauling. Now I'm out 1000 dollars and going to need to buy a new set of tires to safely drive with the camper. read more

Awful service. This place has caused me way more of a headache than it's worth. I went in to get my tires aligned and literally a week and a half later, my back tire blew out. When I took it in, they told me it was because the tires were misaligned. After explaining I had just come in, they refused to give me a refund and tried to make me pay to have my tires aligned again. When I said I wouldn't pay them again, the guy told me that he would sell me the difference to have to unlimited alignments for a year. He told me he was giving me a deal because his boss "would give him a lot of crap for it." Seeming that it was my only option, I payed the $60. After fighting it, I finally got the $60 refunded but still ended up paying for the terrible alignment job and two new tires. Fast forward six months, the same tire has popped because it's completely worn on one side. After taking it in and explaining my previous situation, they were shocked and told me they had never seen tires worn like that before. They took it back to check things out and couldn't find anything wrong. Before even checking the alignment to see if it was some mistake on their part, they told me they would only give me one free tire and would have to charge me for the other back one and I would have to pay for the alignment AGAIN. Different guy this time, but he said the EXACT same thing- that giving me his "deal" would cause him to get in trouble with his boss. Never mind the fact that their tires should have a 40,000 mile warranty and I've only driven 9,000 since the last episode. The fact that it is this hard to try and get these people to be honest is ridiculous. I will NEVER come here again. read more

Dishonest! The manger Ryan lied to me and my daughter in-law. My son is at training with the National Guard, she was in a minor accident in the snow and we towed the car to their shop. What a mistake!!! The manager Ryan told us both (in person) that he would take care of it. The insurance paid their shop for the work, but Big O Tires did not fix it correctly as the dashboard warning lights kept coming back on. Their shop said just keep bringing it in to reset it, that there was nothing wrong with their work. I have the documentation from Larry H Miller collision that it was not fixed correctly and would have done significant damage had my daughter in-law kept driving as usual. Unfortunately when we took her car to the shop I also wanted my daughter in-law to get snow tires. Ryan promised me he would give us a great deal, that it was buy three get one tire free. And I asked if they could store her current tires, and he said they didn't have storage for that but he would put them in the back of her car. When she went to pick the car up they had thrown away her good all season tires!!!!! And they had charged her for four tires claiming that it wasn't the snow tires on sale. Ryan also charged her for an alignment which was covered by the insurance. I have tried to work with them to make it right and they will do nothing. I hope this will save someone else from the same heart ache and huge money loss. I want justice!!! read more

Made an appointment online specifically for a tire rotation on a Wednesday. They said they had no spots available when I arrived and that they don't do reservations for tire rotations. Waited 1.5 hours. Car was sitting out front for a while before I had to ask for my keys. Took them a minute to find them. Joke of a business. read more

If I could put zero stars I would. Came in and got an oil change, tire rotation, and alignment. Got in the car to drive away and my steering wheel wasn't straight. Took it back in and they got my car back on the lift. Got in the car again and while pulling out of their shop for the second time that day, noticed my car sounded different. Turned around, took it back in and asked why my car sounded terrible. They informed me that some of my exhaust had been damaged when they put it on the lift the second time. They did not bother to tell me that before I left, and told me I could pay them to weld the exhaust that they damaged. Welding was not a full fix, but a temporary solution. Went and got a second, third, and fourth opinion on the damage. The damage they caused will cost me 1k. Extremely disappointing as I've had multiple problems with this location. Wouldn't be as bothered if they had been upfront with me, or offered to fix the damages. Would not recommend. read more

I generally really like the Big O tires experience. They've taken care of me in the past. This Big O Tires in American fork feels like they are really trying squeeze money from you at every turn. For example, I went in to buy windshield wipers and was told a price. When I went to check out they were $10 more. The tech who originally quoted the price to me seemed a little shocked, but they guy who rang me up told me it was for $10 for installation. I looked out the window at my car and they were finishing installing them. I rolled my eyes and paid the extra $10, which isn't a lot but still seemed crooked because it's just installing wind shield wipers. I will not be returning to this location for any services ever. read more

In the window of this store is posted a sign stating "Free brake check." I brought my car in and asked them to check my brakes. Needed new pads and rotors, but I found a better price elsewhere, so I asked them to just put my car back together so I could take it to the other shop. Ryan (sales guy) said that he would have to charge me a "diagnostic fee" for checking the brakes. I said that it clearly states on their website that they do free brake checks. He said, "well, that's only if you have a coupon." I had to print out the statement from their website and show it it to him, also pointing out the sign hanging right there in the window behind me. I refused to pay, and he eventually let me have my keys, but I'll never return to this Big O. Lost a customer today. read more

I spent over an hour for a flat repair and rotation. While the red coats stood around and watched the other technicians do all the work, waiting for them. There were 14 people in the waiting room and 2 of them ended up leaving because of the wait. read more

**UPDATE** I was very impressed, the manager of the store called me personally and resolved my problem. He was great to work with and showed that customer service was a priority for him and his store. I went in to get a routine oil change and tire rotation. After waiting over an hour, my car is finally ready, but the cashier tells me I need to get two of my fluids flushed because "they are the worst I've ever seen!" During which, he decides to show the color of my fluids around to the other workers nearby as if to prove to me that I need to change them immediately. It would have been fine for him to explain that they looked pretty bad and he would recommend changing them. By that point I was just tired of waiting so I paid and left. As I began to drive home, my car was acting up pretty badly - it was completely normal when I went in the first time. I was really frustrated and turned around to have them check on it. They took it for a drive and could tell something was up, but weren't sure what, at first. I told them it was running perfectly when I arrived, and when I left, it wasn't so it had to be something they did. They claimed they only changed the oil so it couldn't possibly have been them. Once they took it back in and looked at it, they found zero transmission fluid in it. I have not noticed a leak in my car, the mechanic said he didn't find any leaks, and yet it was completely dry. I am convinced that they unintentionally, or intentionally, drained my fluid. They then made me pay to fill up the transmission fluid even though it shouldn't have been on me. I also noticed that they didn't top off my windshield fluid - supposedly part of the oil change. When I mentioned it, they did top it off, but I shouldn't have to check. Then, as I go to pay for the transmission fluid, the same cashier goes on about how I need to flush those other fluids and how Big O always alerts their customers about needed maintenance (I went to get an oil change at a different Big O in November and they didn't mention anything). He then questioned me multiple times on where I got my oil changed and said how disappointed he was that they hadn't mentioned anything. He then told me maybe I just didn't want to get the flushes because of the price and went on about how I wasn't doing the correct maintenance on my car. After making me feel stupid for about ten minutes, I finally told him that I wasn't stupid and I regularly take my car in for maintenance (which I can prove) and I do get all the services necessary to keep my car running well. When I asked how much the flushes would cost, he told me $130 for the coolant and $120 for the power steering. I left (almost two hours after I first arrived), extremely frustrated and upset, and checked around for prices. Jiffy Lube charges $90 for coolant and $60 for power steering. The Orem Big O charges $80 for each. This American Fork Store did not treat me respectfully and charges extremely high prices. read more

I have been going to big o for years. I had wheel bearing replaced for second time in 2 years. When I questioned why the failure I got the dunno speech. They told me only one year warranty. I tried to use a Michelin rebate card and that's when the guy got frustrated with me an said I will cover it you don't owe anything just don't come back here. As I was leaving the same guy came out to rip on me some more and I told him I will pay the four hundred dollars. He said no please leave. I went to leave and heard screaming I stopped and he was on the ground. He gets back up claiming I ran over him. It got real heated, some passerby came up an told me to leave. If the paying customer is not allowed to question the work them maybe someone else should do it. By the way the Michelin rebate card came from tires I bought at that store. I have emailed corporate but obviously they don't care and that's fine. There are lots of tire stores. read more
