I saw a nail in my tire yesterday and decided to get it taken care of right away even though the tire was not flat. We had used Big O before for tire trouble and tires. Luckily, they were open and took walk-ins. There was a wait but I didn't mind. They updated their waiting room, and they had WiFi. You can also sit outside. They plugged the tire without charging. I asked him about oil changes and may use them next time.

Service is not great and they just ignore you. Of course that is the norm these days. One person finally helped and hope to got tire fixed. lol, first thing they say is can't honor the warranty because it purchased at other Big-O and they cannot see purchase paperwork. Yup usual scam. But I kept the paperwork, so that negates their scam. Let's see what the next thing is. I usually use the Rio Rancho Big -O as they treat you better there. So the service rep is saying someone got tires and they going to find him and pop the tires. Hmmmm.. what kind of place is this? Now they dealing with family issues and making customers wait. Hmmm.. Also the they say if you order tires you have to leave your rim here? WTF? Really. Hmmm... Never been to a big O that did that before. Maybe they have issues with people not picking up their order? Just wonder?

This review is based on one visit for an oil change…read more I would rate the actual oil change as GOOD: - I received a detailed checklist with notes - appreciated it - I verified the oil was full (dipstick was dry before the visit) - I verified washer fluid etc. were filled I would rate my customer experience as MEDICORE: - Wait time - I got in quickly; waited about an hour and 15 minutes (a bit long) - Accuracy in taking my information - terrible (see detailed notes) - Attempt to upsell me on items - Yes they did attempt (see detailed notes) Detailed notes: My mechanic could not get me for only an oil change so I saw a sign at Midas for a $49 synthetic oil change. I made an appointment in person with the manager who took my information (incorrectly). I showed up two days later on time for my appointment. I explained again that I was there for the $49 synthetic oil change - plus I wanted an estimate on changing 1 headlight bulb (an easy change). As I sat and patiently waited by reading a book, I started getting antsy after an hour and stood and asked the non-manager person at the desk for the time. He asked my name and said that he tried to call me but I did not answer. He never looked in the seating area to see if I was actually there. So he said I needed a new air filter - showed it to me and it was barely dirty since it was changed less than 5 thousand miles ago. I refused a new one. He then quoted me about $65 to change 2 light bulbs and gave me a price for a package of bulbs. Again, I said NO. My bill would have been about $190 for the oil change and 2 bulbs / replaced with labor. ONCE I REVIEWED MY BILL I NOTICED MY NAME WAS SPELLED WRONG, MY STREET ADDRESS WAS SPELLED WRONG, AND MY PHONE NUMBER WAS INCORRECTLY ENTERED. THIS LEFT ME FEELING INSECURE ABOUT THE CREDIBILITY OF THE WORK BEING DONE BECAUSE OF THE LACK OF ATTENTION TO DETAIL. My total bill for the oil change was about $58. I paid and left then I made an appointment with my mechanic to verify the results of the findings on the Midas checklist for the oil change. Midas showed some fluids were low and they recommended differential service. My mechanic found fluids were fine all the way around and said to wait on the differential service if I wanted to do it at some future point. BTW - he charged me about the same as Midas quoted for the 2 headlight changes. Getting my mechanic to verify that the work was done and that my fluids were filled and the oil was at the correct level was important to my peace of mind. I honestly feel a bit bad leaving this review, but I can't help that the customer service was so lacking that I did not trust their integrity. I hope that the manager takes this feedback to heart. I realize auto repair is a difficult business, but customer loyalty should be something for them to strive for.

It took 2 hours for a simple oil change! I bought off of Groupon and then they charged me $30 on…read moretop of that! I also heard one of their employees tell a customer that rotors wear out the same time as break pads and they all have to be changed at the same time which is a flat out lie! Rotors last through 2-3 sets of break pads. Do not go here they will try to scam you!

Hector at Brake Masters is fantastic…read more Last week I went to Jiffy Lube for a brake inspection and they gave me a laundry list of services my car needed to total more than $600. After speaking to Brake Masters I brought my car in for a second opinion. Vince got me checked in and was kind enough to explain a few things to me. In thirty minutes Hector advised me that actually the services that I came in for were not needed. If it wasn't for Hector I would have spent $600 at Jiffy Lube for work that I didn't even need. Thank you Hector and Vince - you guys made my month. I will definitely be recommending you to family and friends!

1 Star - Deceptive Practices and Unnecessary Repairs…read more I'm writing this review to warn others about what appears to be a pattern of deceptive behavior at this location. Both a friend of mine and I have had nearly identical experiences that suggest intentional manipulation. A Friend's Experience: My friend brought car in for a routine oil change. The car was NOT leaking oil beforehand. After the service, the service advisor claimed the car had a leaky oil pan gasket, and sure enough, the car was suddenly leaking oil. Suspicious of this convenient timing, my friend took the car to Advantage Automotive for a second opinion. Their mechanic discovered that a plug/screw was simply loose--that was the entire problem. The oil pan gasket was in perfectly good condition. My friend spent hundreds of dollars just to discover that the mechanic misled about needing an expensive repair. My Experience (December 9, 2025): I came in for an oil change. My car had NO oil leaks prior to service. Immediately after the oil change was finished, the service advisor told me I had a leaky oil pan gasket--the exact same claim made to my mother. And just like with her car, I found fresh oil stains in my garage that hadn't been there before. The service advisor also claimed I needed a new battery, despite my battery being under 5 years old, functioning perfectly, and showing no physical signs of damage or corrosion. *Update* I had the battery's condition verified by an AutoZone employee - the battery is fine (hadn't been giving me issues at all also). Secondly, engine's oil level is just above the hot end and, after a few days, is not leaking any oil. I think my oil pan was just overfilled. The Pattern is Clear: When the same shop makes the same dubious diagnosis to two people after services where the problem didn't exist beforehand, it's not coincidence--it's a business model. It appears this location may be deliberately creating or misrepresenting problems to generate unnecessary repair business. I cannot recommend this shop to anyone. If you do go here, get a second opinion before authorizing any work beyond what you originally requested. Better yet, find an honest mechanic who won't manufacture problems that don't exist.
