I also had the chance to try their reuben. Man! Flavors make you wanna hum. Customer service is very much "Detroit". You get what you get. When you come be respectful, be patient, and mind your business. The place looks like a regular deli with plenty of seating inside and parking outside. Open late as well so it's good for a late night craving. Definitely recommend to come through if you're in the area.

The wall of plastic you order through is a bit off putting. I wanted to get the pastrami but I had no idea that was build your own pick. I should have gotten the corned beef. The pastrami was delicious I just don't think I chose the right toppings. Served with crispy deli pickles. I also ordered the deviled eggs but was sad to see them tossed in the bag upside down; very messy and hard to eat they had a nice sweet flavor. The main problem is the cleanliness or lack thereof. It could use a deep deep cleaning. Also there are people hustling to get your dollars. A guy was selling one stick of incense for $5. Not sure if I will go back but I might want to try the corned beef egg rolls.

I loved the customer service. Menu was a nice variety of bread-less options. I went with the namesake sandwich What The Dill that included corned beef and turkey. It didn't disappoint. The pickle tasted fresh and it wasn't too tangy or sweet. It complimented the meat, cheese, veggies and flavors with a nice crunch. I should have ordered more than one sandwich because I liked it so much. I thought it was cool that the included gloves with the sandwich. Parking was available around the building and on an adjacent street. Order was made fresh and there wasn't a long wait. I plan to go back and try some other menu options.

You have Breadless, you have the Shake Shack lettuce burger (which isn't bad as long as you get a double), Jimmy John's unwich, and What's the Dill. Breadless and What's the Dill are, by far, the best the city has to offer in this department. I got the Big Dill Delight from here and it was tremendous. The quality of the lunch meat was apparent immediately. This was fresh lunch meat with a natural texture and flavor. This was not rubber textured, processed lunch meat that you see far too often. The variety of the lunch meat was tremendous. You had Corned Beef, Turkey, and Ham and then Italian favorites like Pepperoni and Salami. They also included Bacon for no extra cost. The final hurdle was the preparation of a sandwich that has a pickle bun. It's a culinary feat to make this sandwich in an organized fashion without having the bread to fall back on. They did it with flying colors. When I saw the sandwich, I was thoroughly impressed with how they engineered it. I was able to eat it as a sandwich and not just have it fall apart. I like exploring spots north of West Grand Boulevard, and this is one of the gems. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful and extremely competent, given the difficulty of the sandwiches they are making. It's a carry up restaurant with plenty of parking. This and Breadless take the cake as the best breadless options in the area!

They have an extensive menu to include vegetarian options which was nice to see. They also have many local brands to include chips, sodas, and other small local business products (caramelized nuts, baked goods, etc.)! On the topic of local businesses, they also had a board which allowed local owners to post business cards and event alerts, fantastic for drawing the community together. Now, I ordered a Reuben as a lover of corned beef and sauerkraut. It was delicious and sizeable, a fair portion size for the money as well. The chips were also delicious having gone for the salt, pepper, and onion variety. A solid crunch and bursting with flavor. Among the positives I have two negatives, both of which are not adequate enough to lower their star ranking. Firstly, it took around 20-25 minutes to get our food after ordering. I rarely hold timing against a restaurant as having worked in food, I know lunch rush exists and things happen. To mitigate this (for those in the area) I believe they have an online ordering system, which I would recommend utilizing! Secondly, they do not have indoor seating, so it is a very grab and go type establishment. This is counteracted by the multitude of benches around Royal Oak, though it would be nice to have some amount of seating, especially for those with accessibility needs and those waiting on their food. Overall, Oak House Deli is solid and delicious and I will definitely stop by again when I am in the area!

It has perfect density, is well-seasoned, and is easily 15% better than a Five Guys patty. The Toppings: The lack of customization is frustrating. No extra options or toppings are allowed. It comes with American cheese, shredded iceberg lettuce (not a fan), and way too much sauce. The sauce itself is okay, but the burger was drowning in it. The Fries: Good firmness, they definitely hold their shape better than Five Guys but Five Guys' Cajun fries still win on flavor. The Value: I paid about $20 for a burger, fries, and a tip. It feels expensive, but with Five Guys at $18 and a McDonald's Big Arch meal at $14 these days, the price is fairly standard for the current market.

Ordered a single, a double, two drinks and fries. Totally was 34$. Very expensive I feel. Food was good though. I did enjoy the burger. The single was enough. They don't have any toppings for the burger besides cheese, lettuce and their ghost sauce (basically mayo, pickles and maybe tomatoes). They do have packets of ketchup and mustard if you ask. Fries were fresh and you can tell. This was my favorite thing. They were actually very good. I didn't care for the fancy sauce too much though. But the size of the fries are shareable I feel. Overall I would come here again and try other food. But, with the lack of toppings for the price, it would steer me away.
