The prices are affordable but if you check the ounces of the food you will see that the contents have been reduced to get a lower price. So I am not sure if you are saving much. If you are single then the sizes are just right but if you are looking for family sizes then perhaps you should shop elsewhere. The best part is that the Stores are all located close to the people in residential areas. This means you can walk and not have to drive all over town to purchase something quickly. I once read that the average American spends $8,500 a year on their car, car insurance, car maintenance etc. So if you can walk to the Dollar Store and avoid a car then you're saving a bunch. With the closing of the IGA on mainstreet then the Dollar Store is a good replacement. Glad we have something downtown and recommend it to all that need a quick item on the way home from work.

The book section was my favorite! I found 2 cookbooks that I think I will get good use of ($2.99 each). I kind of wish Ollie's had makeup. They have shampoo and toothpaste and such. But no lipsticks, mascara, nail polish, eyeshadow, etc. Ollie's is very similar to a Big Lots but I think Ollies is a bit better quality stuff.

The store itself is usually fairly clean, but the isles are a bit tight and compact. The staff here seem friendly, but don't talk to much at all to the shoppers that stay into shop. I have only bought light bulbs and disinfectant here the few times I have stopped in. This store like other Dollar General Stores they carry a wide variety of items from clothing items, lawn/garden, can goods, dairy, just to name a few. The mt sterling Walmart has no drive through window for pharmacy pickup…read more The powered carts are not charged . No pharmacy technician can carry medication to the grocery pickup area . When I do find a disabled parking site, I can use a cane to the store. But I hurt and am too weak to stand in line at the pharmacy window in a long line. And there is no other way to pick up medication. I asked them to transfer the prescription to the Stanton Walmart where there is a drive through window but they refused to do so.
