We were not really impressed it was very messy , you couldn't find anything as lots of shelves had things thrown all over, plus opened and unopened boxes in the aisles. They may need more help to organize. The only ppl I saw working were at the register , we couldn't find anyone on the floor. No one said Hi when we came in. I saw lots of books but didn't go over there. The prices seemed like Walmart prices nothing stood out as a great deal to us but that depends on what u are looking for I guess. The store is nicely stocked with a little bit of the bookstore vibe of years past with categories of all kinds. They do have a big selection of children's books that include a rack of picture books and puzzles as well a section for young adults. There's not a lot of reference, DIY or self-help books but they've done pretty well with making a nice assortment of different genres available. They have a nice selection of discounted hard and paperback books, some audio books and assorted gifts. There's no coffee shop or couches to lounge in, no magazine or newspaper racks here, it's just books and that's okay with me. We bought a couple books and had a pleasant conversation with the very nice lady who was running the place all by herself. I'm a sucker for a good bookstore, and it's independently owned and operated, so what's not to like? Bottom line: it's clean, well organized and maintained with good prices. Recommended;

One is a gator and two are Dolphins, which my toddlers love to ride. There is also a candy and ice cream store In the back "yabba's". Which is fabulous. The ice cream is yummy, the staff is always super friendly and fun. The candy store has tons of options... Alphabet Gummies and all kinds of candy. The candied pecans are fabulous. There is a kid only area in the back by the candy store part. We always enjoy this. It has the typical beach items... Not quite as many beach toys, but always seems way less crowded and crazy than the shark store. Now the selection here while similar to Souvenir City does have some different things so you might want to just take the time to look in both stores to ensure you don't miss something really cool on sale that you never would have dreamed you needed or wanted. Some of the items here also seem to be of less quality than some other places. Overall since Souvenir City and Purple Octopus are so close to each other you might as well check out both.
