This Ollie's has a reasonable selection of books, and I noticed some books here that I hadn't seen at the other Ollie's. All the prices are a great value. My only gripe is that one of the books that I wanted was on a super high shelf, and it wasn't clear how I was supposed to get it, so I had to be creative with how I retrieved the book. I browsed the other aisles but didn't see anything in particular. I was mainly looking for books and excess tea; neither Ollie's had much of a tea selection. The employee that rang us up was nice and friendly, and there was basically no wait, although it might have been because they were closing soon. I definitely think a good value can be had here as long as you're not looking for anything super specific. I enjoy going to Ollie's for puzzle books and coloring books, of which there are many.

While it's mostly general merchandise they sell, one can also find a pretty decent variety of cleaning supplies, personal care products, clothing, bedding, toys, pet needs and even non-perishable foods! Plenty of bagged and boxed candy too. The store seems a good bit cleaner than the Odd Lots that once occupied this space. It's also better organized and has (somewhat) friendlier employees, albeit not all of 'em seem on board with that. Anyway, it dampens the "holiday spirit" of the store. Lots of holiday and seasonal goods for sale too. They got nothing on Robert's Christmas Wonderland on Gulf to Bay, but one of THOSE is probably one too many except in small doses. Meanwhile, Christmas music was playing in the store. Between every one or two songs was another Ollie's ad. Each one of 'em ends with the same phrase as though barked by a group of military recruits... "Ollies: good stuff CHEAP!!" That pretty well sums it up: hook, line and sinker. I'm sure if you looked hard enough you can find THEM too. I myself won't be doing so, but my dear Queen Bee loves the place. To me, it beats the be-jiggers outta Dollar Parlor, Greenback General or Goodwill. The first time I came here was last May, where I was shopping for clothing suitable (no pun intended) for my sister's wedding. They were patient, humorous, and very helpful to my family. The worker who helped me today, Anna, did a marvelous job in helping me...Especially since today was my first day shopping for formal clothing solo! She was very patient as well, made sure to take measurements, and was super accommodating and helpful when it came to selecting clothing that was both appropriate for the event I was attending and thy could fit me. She was also very knowledgeable in what clothing colors are appropriate for what occasion, and boy am I glad to have had her in my corner today. Thanks to her, I walked out a happy customer able to breathe a sigh of relief that I got what I needed! In general, I've come to find a lot of clothing to be of higher quality and variety than elsewhere in the mall. What really separates them from the rest is just how much the stores accommodates the bigger sizes, including me. Granted, they're rather pricey, but again it's not easy making clothing for people such as myself so I don't hold that against them. I been looking all over for this!!!! It's the little things in life that matter. Staying organized makes me happy & I cannot live without my little hanging basket in my laundry room. It even has a bow on the front that my other one didn't have, so adorable. It was the only one I could find or I would have gotten 2! I am an employee and was on vacation in FL and visited the Gulf to Bay store in Clearwater FL. The clerk said he couldnt give me the discount without my card so I pulled up our employee app to show I was truly an employee. He called the manager who said that wouldnt work because they needed the card to prove who I was..............would I really have access to the app if I wasnt an employee? Terrible customer service. If you are going to treat a fellow employee that way, how are you treating regular customers? I visited 2 other Ross Stores in the area (Largo and Country Side) and they did not have a problem using this method to verify. THINK.........and do what is right for the customer as well as the employees who are customers.
