I always come out with more than my list when I shop here! I found my facial wipes in different varieties. (aloe, green tea, unscented) They had so many choices for my Maltipoo in sweaters, treats and toys! That's where my budget went out the window! $6.99-12.99 Going down the aisles, it's hard not to keep throwing things into the cart. The staff were helpful and professional. The bathrooms were clean. So if you go way out past Pavilion, NY there is a pork farm. And each animal has its own little pen, which are known as "lots". Those farms are known in the industry as "Pig Lots." This place used to be one of those, back when Transit Rd was just farm country. I remember when all this was farms, as far as the eye could see. Old man Peabody owned all of this. He had this crazy idea about breeding pine trees. To put it simply, Big Lots is awesome. It's a "junk store" but you can find a lot of great deals and cool things here. Like, the bed I sleep on, is from here, and super cheap it was too. Love it! And my winter gloves, also from here. Super cheap! I dunno why more people don't go here. It's like Walmart but without the evil MNC shadow hanging over you, with slightly better prices on some stuff, with way less selection, and with no Trailer Parks camped in the middle of the store. It's also a lot friendlier and more helpful. WAY friendlier. Like the Polar Opposite of Friendly. And if you're trying to reach Australia, and all you have is a shovel. This review is based on our recent order pick up. I placed an online order for five bookshelves. I've never picked up an order before at Big Lots, so wasn't sure what to expect. When I arrived at this store, there were several signs that said pick up at any register. Seemed easy enough. I got in line, and when I reached the cashier, he said I had to go to the furniture register to pick up shelves. Alrighty. I went to the furniture desk, and waited, and waited, and waited. Nobody came. I went back to the cashier, waited in line and he said he'd send someone over. Waited more. Finally someone came, but told me she was helping someone else and I'd have to wait. So I waited more. Finally we were helped at the register. Then we were told to wait out front for the stock person to bring out the shelves. And guess what? More waiting. All in all, it took over an hour to pick up a simple pre-paid order. The bookshelves themselves worked out great, and the price was the best we could find them for, but the poor communication, misleading signage, and endless waiting was frustrating and disappointing. read more

Big Lots recently did a remodel about a year ago and the store is nicely set up. The employees are helpful and they have a wide range of products that they sell, from snacks, household cleaners and furniture. I usually just get odds and ends when I am in there. Typically, I really dislike stores like Big Lots but I've gotta say, I found some good stuff here recently! I found the Love & Toast brand lotion and shower creme here for $2 per bottle. It's typically more than $10 per bottle if you buy it at Target. That's a great find! I also found Pacific Foods Organic Broth here for $2/carton, typically close to $4/carton at Wegman's. Another great find! Coppertone Sport SPF 30, 3 pack of spray bottles for $12 ($4 a bottle), when it's normally $7-8 per bottle at other stores! I would recommend checking expiration dates though. All of the dates on the stuff I bought goes out at least 1 year. By then, I'm sure all of my stuff will be gone. Some items here are not cheaper than elsewhere, but if you're willing to look around you can certainly find some good loot! read more

Big Lots has been a favorite of mine for years. This location has been recently revamped and is very nice. The staff is always very friendly and helpful and the store is laid out well for easy shopping. They carry just about everything you need -but know your prices as some items can be a bit higher than other stores - but overall their prices are very good and competitive. They carry a lot of brand name food items pretty reasonable. I always enjoy browsing around the store to see what goodies I can find. Will definitely be coming back. read more

Junk store shopping at its best! This chain is typically the type of place where you can find that special "junk" for stockingstuffers and it also is a great place to find items you just don't normally think of. However, aside from the snowman who looked like he was having some personal fun - there just wasn't much here. One of the better locations with well stocked shelves and lots of great items available. A hit of a drive for me but we'll worth it. Bug Lots has rarely been the store that I have on top of my itinerary, but when I do go it never disappoints. I just had the worst experience ever with the furniture department. Avoid at all costs! Sit on the floor before you shop there! The staff are totally incompetent and after wasting hours of my time they can't even ring up a large sale correctly causing the credit company to demand I reapply even after I was approved an hour earlier. I went into this store a few days ago just mozying around for a snack and some other miscellaneous things, and I couldn't help but notice the mess.I know its just after Christmas time and things are hectic with returns,I work in retail I know the struggle.but it looked like an abomination of just unorganized crap. My job is very clean and organized at all times so for me to see this was shocking. Things were out of place on the shelves and boxes were everywhere.I also noticed a tall woman who seemed like a manager screaming at her employees.
