car has been towed 3 times to this location and 2 of the 3 times they misquoted the total cost for the tow and it was literally almost a 70 dollar or more difference. First two times we only needed to have a title and picture ID and proof of insurance to get the vehicle from tow yard. This last time the rules changed and they needed a valid drivers license title and proof of insurance. We have not been able to register the vehicle as of yet because the local law enforcement continually tows the car illegally even though it has proof of insurance and moving permits as we have been in the process of fixing a check engine light on the sensors. With all the money and spent on towing costs over 1300.00 we could have had the car insured for another 6 months smogged and registered by now. BBB is going to have the complaint now. Hopefully all these fake 5 star reviews will start to diminish as their company certainly deserves to fail based on practices like this alone. read more

Most of us have seen the TV ad where a family mom says "Let's see where AAA can take us?" After her visions of the beach, mountain retreats, etc. the family is now outside viewing their car with a flat tire. She then says "But 1st let's get this fixed." With AAA the family would have waited hours and perhaps even missed their vacation. Ha-ha. Well I can only say good things about this tow company we accidentally got are boat trailer backed up over a 3ft. Cliff and are truck also got stuck! At willow beach on there off trail :/ they were honest with the price $175 an hour for heavy duty truck including travel they got there fast and Nathan helped us he ran the whole time and got it all done in 20mons so we only had to pay for two hours total for what he had to do we were super impressed we highly recommend them for any situation I feel like they actually know what there doing hopefully we won't need them again lol but if we do we will call Big Johns Towing ! read more

The car was impounded because my brother was driving drunk cry face cry face I just bought this car for him registered it and insured it so very disappointed. My brother sure learned his lesson I know he was a little bit depressed Like everyone else has been lately on this car is his only means to get into town to buy groceries and the things he needs to survive. Big John's seem to charge an exorbitant amount of money to retrieve the car. The cost of the car was $5000 And when my mom and I went to pick it up we really were debating on letting it go to the auction because we couldn't afford it we didn't know if it was really worth it. Imagine big John's house to Charge a fee that's stipulated by the city but this was a little bit much under the Circumstances and it seems like they made a bad situation worse it's never a good idea to take everything people have. read more

This place is complete RIPOFF When i was stuck at the mud at willow beach. I requested Tow truck to pull me out . they told me it was $175 an hour. this place is 24 miles from willow beach and it took driver 40-45 mins to get to where I was.(googled it. normal driving is 31min) Then He stuck on sand. what a joke right?? he tried to pull himself out of sand for about 1 hour and half but he Couldn't pull himself out. so He just decided to pull me out first so My truck can help him to Pull his Tow truck out. yes I don't have to help him but I did. So he used his winch line to pull me out. and It took less than 5 mins. now my Truck is free. so I was trying to pull his tow truck out for an Hour. but tow truck is too heavy My truck is getting pulled. any ways he asked me call the company to send another tow truck for him. before I go He asked me to pay for 3 hours of service (it was 6 :00PM now )which is $525. I request service at 4:00pm. I said Why is 3 hours He told me get to where I was took him 1 hour and going back 1 hour and even he spend 5 mins of towing he has to charge me with 1 hour rate. so i told him that it took him to get to where I was only 45 mins and going back is 45 mins and took him only 5 to 10 mins to pull me out so It's less than 2 hours so he should charge me for 2 hours. and This guy keep saying that It took him 1 hour to drive. I even show him the evidence . which is picture that he trying to pull himself out of sand at 4:50pm(picture has detail time). and told him it only takes 45 mins to get here or less (i even showed him that picture and time ). he just keep saying he doesn't care. 1 hour driving and charged us 3 hours. and told us to pay it or call the cop. I was keep trying to explain to him. that I am willing to pay 2 hours rate but not 3 hours. you do the MATH Big johns Towing. for example 10 mins driving = you charge 1 hour 10 mins job =you charge 1 hour 10 mins driving back you charge 1 hour is that how you guys charging people??? and trying to ripoff?? so in my case 45min driving = 1 hour charged 5 to10min job = 1 hour charged 45min driving back =1 hour charged I have evidence so stfu. It doesn't take you 1 hour to get there. about 100 mins of total charged $525 and the very at the end. he charged us and said "oh I didn't know you were veteran I should've give you discount but I don't know how to cancel the Transaction". I had my radiator split on the Hoover dam and called these guys, and am glad I did. I was towing a gooseneck and didn't want to leave it on the side of the freeway. They went to the parts store, bought a radiator and coolant and brought it to me in the time it took for me to pull out the old one. Probably 20 minutes. I was happy to pay $60 for them to do all that! Great experience, friendly people, highly recommend based on my experience. read more

My boyfriend and I were headed from Vegas (where we live) to visit family in Phoenix. We were hauling our boat with our truck, we hit a bump just outside of Boulder City and the boat came unhitched and slammed into the back of our truck. We were able by the grace of God to make it to the side of the road. We called multiple places and no one was willing to help us. We called Big Johns and Nathan called us back fast and left his lunch break to help us. Without his help we would have been completely lost. Stranded on desert highway. Called insurance they had two choices: wait 3 hours for an $800 tow or wait 30-45 minutes for a $250 tow from Big Johns. Nathan came and was extremely nice. Called asking how much it would cost to tow my car back to boulder city. Which was about 13 miles. The original estimate was $75 then moved up to $100 and I was ok with that. We waited over an hour and a half for the tow truck driver when the original estimate was 20 minutes. They just kept calling and adding more time. Then when the guy got there he said it would be $250 dollars! We were shocked and told him we couldn't afford that. After we said that he said he would be nice and not charge us the $50 call out fee. Overall a huge waste of time and hassle. They constantly change their price once out to you and take forever. I suggest you don't use them. read more

Big John's towing is a lifesaver! My wife and I broke down in a rental RV at 10pm just outside Boulder City. We spent hours talking to Geico, AAA and our rental service and nobody could help. The best they could do was send someone from 2 hrs away to tow us for $150/hr. We waited 5 hrs. Ridiculous! This place is amazing. The workers there went out of their way to make sure I get my car that same day. Not only did they stay after business hours, but one of the workers who just got off shift drove me to the police station and back to get a release form twice!! They spent almost an entire hour staying there and driving me around, just to get my car back! They had no reason to. They would have made more money from letting my car sit there longer. Wonderful service. I needed to get my car from my house to a mechanic. When I called, they said they would pick up my car in about a half hour. Twenty-five minutes later, the driver pulled up. He was friendly and quick. He got my car loaded within five minutes and dropped it off at the mechanic. There were no hassles, they picked up when they said they would, and it was much cheaper than I was expecting it to be. I will definitely use them again, should the occasion arise. read more
