My wife and I flew into Oahu with no plans but to enjoy our honeymoon, when we arrived we quickly found every activity was booked due to covid in a panic we searched for hours and hours almost to the point of feeling defeated. Then we found big John!! Local island treasure !! He took my wife and I on a "half day tour" which was beyond what we could of asked for. He took us all around the town giving fun stories pointing out local spots that aren't on the radar, showed us the best sight seeing spots, knew to get out early enough to get ahead of the big rig tour busses stopped and got us the beat musubi we had on our trip took us to Leonard's Portuguese pastries but knew which one to stop at so we weren't in line forever, took us snorkeling on the north shore and made sure we found the best food trucks available. Completely made our trip. Our half day trip turned into a full day of fun. Ohhh and did I mention he was taking candid photos of my wife and I enjoying ourselves and sent em to me for that extra touch Thank you big John!!! read more

We had our tour with Big John day 3 of our trip. I'm glad we did it earlier on the trip because he showed us some amazing places that we would have never learned about if it was not for him. Later in the week we went back to some of those places to spend the entire day there. The places we loved the most were Eternity Beach and Waimea Bay rock jump. He also helped us book a sailing charter where we caught a fish, went swimming in the ocean. Thank you for showing us a great time Big John. read more

First time trying Big John and it was the right choice! He texted and said would be early but no rush. Did tell us about Aloha Friday Traffic so we should leave 15 minutes earlier and this time helped us at the airport. Because it was crazy on a Friday nice , clean large Toyota van with lots of space Coming home he texted the about confirming pick up and that we was watching the flight . Very attentive. His made sure we got safely home . His price is reasonable and we will be sharing with neighbors and friends about his service from Hawaii Kai Mahalo! read more

Contacted John on short notice. He took us on a full day island tour. Extremelyknowledgeable and professional. Showed us things we would not see on a "canned" tour. Expansive knowledge of everything going on on Oahu Very flexible and efficient. One of the best private tours we have had. Took our large group to the airport the next day. Arranged for a second car since our group and it's luggage wouldn't fit. Would definitely recommend for a tour or airport transportation. read more

Big John did an excellent job and we are very happy to have met him by chance. When nothing seemed available, he scheduled us for a truly excellent hike and a beautiful sunset boat ride for my mother's birthday. He is really friendly and knows the area exceptionally well. read more

Big John was friendly and courteous. He kept updating me on the status of where he was and how long he'd be until he'd arrive to pick me up. He quoted me a price that was less than what it actually was though. Either way, I got from where I was to where I needed to go. read more

Big John taxi service was recommended to use by Coral Crater zip lining and we ended using him for the entire trip. Big John helped us directly and he was so much fun. Had great conversation on the rides. Recommended a ton of stuff for us to do and had great stories to tell us. John had great communication and texted me directly. John always showed up 15 min early and had competitive pricing. I give him 5 stars and will definitely do a tour with him the next time we visit. read more

We used John's services twice during our five day stay in Oahu! Highly recommend the full circle island tour. The best part was swimming in Waimea falls the secluded beach he took us too where we met some local kids. Also the yummy shrimp! The day of our flight (3 pm) we wanted to visit sea life park and he let us accomplish that. We went to sea life park, saw the animals, had a dolphin encounter, changed, purchased pictures and then headed back to the airport. Even tho it was out of the way, we made it very much on time (early even). He has so much knowledge and is a kind soul. Very affordable and professional. I will certainly use his services again when visiting Oahu and have already recommended to family and friends! read more

On time on time ON TIME!!!! Clean, courteous, comfortable! We had a 7a flight and John talked to me the night before and morning of, we were so paranoid because we missed our flight the day before so to have someone respond and be professional was HUGE! He picked us up at 445a and we are so grateful. Thanks John!!! read more

We used several other taxi services before finding Big John's Taxicab. Wish we would have found him earlier in our trip to Oahu. John was prompt, informative, funny, and most importantly...he was a very safe driver. Thank you Big John! read more

John rocks! I needed a lift from the VPC to the airport and had 3 HUGE bags I was bringing with me. Called John for a lift and he was actually already at the VPC, offered to come around back to help me with my bags and once he and another gentleman from the VPC got my bags in the car, we were off! Made it right to the airport in a great amount of time, the conversation was great as he was personable and professional, and he was just an all around great guy! Clean cab, great fares, outstanding customer service. Aloha and God bless! read more

I was going through a tough time and needed a ride to work at 4:30am for a week minimum. John readily offered to help me out and at a very affordable rate. He was so dependable, showing up promptly every morning, and with a friendly smile, as well. We had great conversations and he never complained about anything. He offered a listening ear and was so kind and solicitous. He will always be my go to guy when I need a ride. I HIGHLY recommend his company. Very dependable and nice!! read more

John is always very attentive and helpful. Has come early in the am . I trust him for a safe ride!

What an awesome cab driver. Just like all the other reviewers said, John was very courteous and the definition of professional. Timely, comfortable ride. I get car sick very easily and didn't have a moment of queasiness. John was also very easy to talk to. He's led quite an interesting life, and had great tips for the rest of our stay! I grabbed a business card in case we need another taxi. He will definitely be the first guy I call. read more

A lot of unnecessary drama. An initially good private tour was soured by gratuitous information about how jealous this driver's girlfriend was that he was taking a female out on a tour. The driver (John) stated a drive to the airport was included in the tour price, but then reneged, but not without giving me the runaround first so I wasn't sure whether I could count on him for a ride or not. He finally admitted that his girlfriends jealousy was the issue and promised a discount off of the original tour, which he never honored. Bit too much drama and too little professionalism for my taste. read more

Big john is so professional and a really nice guy. Picked me up at the time he said he would and I walked right outside. Thank you big john!

Recently used this taxi to airport. The service was great. John arrived 10 minutes early and was ready for us at our requested pickup time. He was very professional, efficient and gracious in helping with our luggage. We will certainly use this service again and we highly recommend it. read more

John is efficient: calling to confirm, also a day ahead, and when he has arrived. Stated a fixed rate to the airport so we knew up front. Got his name as a referral from a relative who also uses him. Would highly recommend Big John! read more

Great guy! Great pricing! Not even on time but EARLY! Picked us up at the crack of dawn on the opposite side of the island from where he operates from and couldn't be more grateful for the ride! Thank you so much! read more

What can I say this man is a walking tourism advert for Hawaii and customer service. We connected with john on a short cab ride one evening and the next day we were taking his all day tour of the island what a fantastic day he took us to some great food, views and shared his stories which made the day wonderful, money invested with great return!!! Would highly recommended in that no worries driving and sight seeing plus he knows where to go! Next day he took us to Pearl Harbor explained what we had to do and picked us up on way back and yes more sight seeing no extra charge!! Overall great person, service and good for your soul!! We have more experiences later this week read more

Big John's taxicab really helped us out. We were in a terrible bind being on the North Shore and booking an adventure on the complete opposite side of the island extremely early in the morning to a point where other taxi's, Lyfts and Ubers were not in service yet. Thankfully they came to the rescue. We would have missed a huge part of our trip had it not been for this service. We appreciate their help so much and would recommend their service to anyone. Big John himself was our driver and was very friendly and professional. He even told us important tidbits about the areas we were traveling through like he was giving us a tour. Support your local business and use this service. You will not regret it. read more
