I am writing to share a strong recommendation for John Chapman and his company, Cal Western…read moreOverhead Doors. Our large family in Oxnard has a long history of working with John, and he has consistently proven to be honest, kind, and reliable. Recently, my 76-year-old mother noticed that her garage door was crooked and off its rails. Because her home is on a busy street with an alley-facing garage, she was uncomfortable leaving it partially open overnight when John was initially unavailable to come out until the following day. Unfortunately, she called an Los Angeles-based company from a local mailer that promised immediate service. Two technicians arrived, claimed she needed extensive repairs--including new springs, pulleys, cables, brackets, and rollers--and charged her $1,995.00 for an hour and a half of work. After realizing she had likely been overcharged, my mother reached out to John. He kindly came by to assess the situation, explained what had likely occurred, and provided a written estimate of what the service should have cost so we have documentation if we choose to pursue the matter further. John's integrity and willingness to help my mother during a stressful situation truly stand out. We highly recommend John Chapman and Cal Western Overhead Doors for any garage door needs.
