My 94 year old client has been a customer for many many years. I called for her this morning due to an issue with her keypad that I wasn't familiar with, so I called the number on the sticker placed on the main piece...well the older sounding man that answered the call was absolutely rude. Assumed I was gonna ask for a free service call and the first words that came out of his mouth in a very condescending tone was " With gas at 7 dollars a gallon I don't come out for free" I never once mentioned or expected him or anyone of the service techs to come out for free, I myself or my client would have gladly payed the fee. I did let him know that I would rather figure it out myself than to support that nasty attitude... And it took me a while but I did eventually figure it out read more

Years ago we got a new insulated door installed and it has worked well. Started to get a little harder to roll up, AND we decided to install a lift. Rod came the day we called (lives down the street!) slipped our call in between others that day. Quick adjustment got the door back to easy opening, and in about a half hour we had an opener!! We called JM Door service based on the great reviews, and could not be more pleased and impressed with their service. Rod the service rep showed up right on time, was able to repair our garage door quickly and efficiently. He also got our wall remote to work despite being told by a warranty service company rep that it no longer worked.. After the Camarillo fires, I looked for a company that could fix the damaged window panels on our Clopay garage doors. I found JM online on Yelp and Clopay's site, good reviews. I contacted them and sent them the door information. I was given a quote and was told they'll order the parts. That was December 2024. Over the next several months I kept emailing to find out what's going on? I'd get back a quick email "I'll check on the order" or "the order probably got lost" and "I'll get back to you which never happened." Finally today I emailed my frustration to them and told them I had contacted Clopay myself who told me the parts were available through them or order through Home Depot. I received this response verbatim: "I dont know what is going on I can barely keep up with work and Family Issues Try Home Depot see if they can help ??? Sorry" This after waiting SIX MONTHS!! I have seen a few Garage Door guys in my day, but these guys are the best!!! I was having some issues with my garage door closing so I had someone out to look into it. The first company I had out didn't even look at it, just said it's old and you need to replace everything. Which bothered me, they didn't even look at it, so I called JM Overhead for a second opinion. Rod came out, and looked things over, within 5 minutes he knew what was going on. An incorrect lubricant had been used in the past and was gumming up the system. He quickly got everything working for just a service charge!! My retro (read: olive green) garage door opener finally bit the dust. Called Rod at JM Overhead Door and he quickly emailed me a couple of options. I didn't really understand the difference so he talked me through it. He installed it at my convenience and then set up the connections to my car and smartphone. If I had known garage door openers were this fancy, I wouldn't have waited so long to get a new one! The only drawback is that the cat gets spooked because the door opener is so quiet that she can't hear me coming home anymore. read more

The first time I've used this company, and by far it was the most stress free experience. I was running late for work and when I went to put my garage door down it came off the track and almost hit me in the head. I couldn't get it back on so I left it. My whole drive to work was stressful all i could think about was who do I call how much is it going to cost? I immediately searched for garage door companies and the first company I contacted wanted to charge me a $99 fee plus the cost of the repair and mileage. And she couldn't even guarantee me someone could come out. While I waited for a call back I decided to contact another company. Rod not only gave me a fair price, but he accommodated me by doing my job on his way to another one. He was efficient and professional. He did what he said and said what he did. Great job!! My overhead garage door motor bearings were worn out and the door was not functioning. I contacted Rod and he got back to me quickly with two options both of which were exceptional. The best people, the best products and a very professional, friendly staff; timely, clean, skilled and fairly priced operation. What prompted me to write this review was that this weekend, hours before we were scheduled for an open house, we broke the cable on our garage door rendering our garage door inoperable. I called them at 8AM, AND they came and fixed it minutes later with an already fully scheduled day of work. AND they did it for the regular price of a service call. They put in a rollup garage door for me about six years ago but I kept my old Genie screw drive opener. They did a great job for a reasonable price. I finally got tired of waiting for my Genie to die so I ordered that Liftmaster 8550. They came out, installed the opener, serviced the door, showed me how to work everything and they were gone. Everything works great now. I never realized how quietly those openers and doors could be. And it turned out that they knew a lot of people that I knew so we got to talk about 45 years of "old times" in Ventura while they were working.
