I called yesterday afternoon at 3:00 PM and spoke with Rod about my garage door. It would not close all the way. He was at my house at 8:45 this morning and had it fixed in 30 minutes. Excellent service, I was actually able to speak to someone and not leave a message and Rod explained that my springs might be an issue in the future and what do expect and look for. Very informative. I would highly recommend JM Overhead. Support local business. read more

My 94 year old client has been a customer for many many years. I called for her this morning due to an issue with her keypad that I wasn't familiar with, so I called the number on the sticker placed on the main piece...well the older sounding man that answered the call was absolutely rude. Assumed I was gonna ask for a free service call and the first words that came out of his mouth in a very condescending tone was " With gas at 7 dollars a gallon I don't come out for free" I never once mentioned or expected him or anyone of the service techs to come out for free, I myself or my client would have gladly payed the fee. I did let him know that I would rather figure it out myself than to support that nasty attitude... And it took me a while but I did eventually figure it out read more

Easy to work with, customized for my needs. High quality products. I love to support local businesses!

Great response time. Excellent service. Very reasonable prices. Rod was thorough and professional.

Years ago we got a new insulated door installed and it has worked well. Started to get a little harder to roll up, AND we decided to install a lift. Rod came the day we called (lives down the street!) slipped our call in between others that day. Quick adjustment got the door back to easy opening, and in about a half hour we had an opener!! Highly recommend!! read more

We called JM Door service based on the great reviews, and could not be more pleased and impressed with their service. Rod the service rep showed up right on time, was able to repair our garage door quickly and efficiently. He also got our wall remote to work despite being told by a warranty service company rep that it no longer worked.. Rod's experience was evident and he did not try to sell us more than we needed, like often happens. We will certainly use them again and recommend them 100%. The fee was also reasonable. read more

After the Camarillo fires, I looked for a company that could fix the damaged window panels on our Clopay garage doors. I found JM online on Yelp and Clopay's site, good reviews. I contacted them and sent them the door information. I was given a quote and was told they'll order the parts. That was December 2024. Over the next several months I kept emailing to find out what's going on? I'd get back a quick email "I'll check on the order" or "the order probably got lost" and "I'll get back to you which never happened." Finally today I emailed my frustration to them and told them I had contacted Clopay myself who told me the parts were available through them or order through Home Depot. I received this response verbatim: "I dont know what is going on I can barely keep up with work and Family Issues Try Home Depot see if they can help ??? Sorry" This after waiting SIX MONTHS!! Completely unprofessional and unreliable. Do not count on this company. I have also shared this review with Clopay. read more

I have seen a few Garage Door guys in my day, but these guys are the best!!! I was having some issues with my garage door closing so I had someone out to look into it. The first company I had out didn't even look at it, just said it's old and you need to replace everything. Which bothered me, they didn't even look at it, so I called JM Overhead for a second opinion. Rod came out, and looked things over, within 5 minutes he knew what was going on. An incorrect lubricant had been used in the past and was gumming up the system. He quickly got everything working for just a service charge!! Professional, knowledgeful, efficient, these are the guys to go to!!!! read more

What an amazing company to work with! The spring on our roll up door broke and we were unable to lift the door to allow our crews to get in to our shop. Rod was so helpful in explaining what had happened and what we needed to do to get us up and running again. We were very fortunate that the part needed was in his shop and he was able to professionally install it and even make a few improvements. He will be our door guy from now on. His honesty and knowledge was key to us feeling confident in our decision to work with them. read more

We couldn't get any of our doors to work and called JM, who had installed them 15 years ago. Rod came out right away, solved our problem and serviced all the doors. Efficient, personable and cost-effective. You couldn't ask for better service. read more

My retro (read: olive green) garage door opener finally bit the dust. Called Rod at JM Overhead Door and he quickly emailed me a couple of options. I didn't really understand the difference so he talked me through it. He installed it at my convenience and then set up the connections to my car and smartphone. If I had known garage door openers were this fancy, I wouldn't have waited so long to get a new one! The only drawback is that the cat gets spooked because the door opener is so quiet that she can't hear me coming home anymore. read more

We just moved into a home with a crooked door. The owner Rod did a drive by , took a picture and texted an estimate. We agreed on a time and he kept me posted on changes. He completed the job the next day. He did a fantastic job on a repair which I hoped would work but wasn't sure. The fact that he would help me get it done within 24 hrs was a bonus. Having owned many business's, I would say that he is the most professional business owner I have met since coming to Ventura. I lived in area where I knew who to use and who not to! J&M is at the top of my list for any Overhead door, Even after he was finished, he rechecked and decided to adjust a little more. He is reasonably priced and worth every penny! Thanks. Rod... Glad I called you! read more

I can always depend on JM Overhead Door. I don't call anyone else. On time, professional work done and at reasonable prices.

The first time I've used this company, and by far it was the most stress free experience. I was running late for work and when I went to put my garage door down it came off the track and almost hit me in the head. I couldn't get it back on so I left it. My whole drive to work was stressful all i could think about was who do I call how much is it going to cost? I immediately searched for garage door companies and the first company I contacted wanted to charge me a $99 fee plus the cost of the repair and mileage. And she couldn't even guarantee me someone could come out. While I waited for a call back I decided to contact another company. Rod not only gave me a fair price, but he accommodated me by doing my job on his way to another one. He was efficient and professional. He did what he said and said what he did. Great job!! I'll definately be using them when it's time to replace the whole door:) read more

My overhead garage door motor bearings were worn out and the door was not functioning. I contacted Rod and he got back to me quickly with two options both of which were exceptional. Jim and Rod completed the replacement in about an hour and my door is back in operation. The new door opener has many new safety advances from the previous 20 year old model. I am thrilled with the operation of the new overhead door motor and associated equipment. Rod and Jim are a great team - honest, efficient, and service oriented. read more

JM Overhead Door company installed our garage door 20 years ago..since then they have only had to repair and replace the springs (which we broke). The best people, the best products and a very professional, friendly staff; timely, clean, skilled and fairly priced operation. What prompted me to write this review was that this weekend, hours before we were scheduled for an open house, we broke the cable on our garage door rendering our garage door inoperable. I called them at 8AM, AND they came and fixed it minutes later with an already fully scheduled day of work. AND they did it for the regular price of a service call. We were up and running in less than 15 minutes, in time for the open house. I can't say enough positive things about this company. AWESOME!!!! read more

Rod has serviced my door several times. He seems to know everything there is to know about garage doors and he's a pleasure to work with. Today he came out because the door had developed a slight jerkiness when lowering. He diagnosed the problem and solved it (a new bolt) in about 10 minutes and charged me nothing! It doesn't get any better than that. read more

They put in a rollup garage door for me about six years ago but I kept my old Genie screw drive opener. They did a great job for a reasonable price. I finally got tired of waiting for my Genie to die so I ordered that Liftmaster 8550. They came out, installed the opener, serviced the door, showed me how to work everything and they were gone. Everything works great now. I never realized how quietly those openers and doors could be. And it turned out that they knew a lot of people that I knew so we got to talk about 45 years of "old times" in Ventura while they were working. I would sure highly recommend them for doors or openers. read more
