Excellent service! Despite my calling them late (Sunday night I couldn't close my garage door). Since they only had one resource on duty, they asked to come by the next day and this follow through was appreciated. Next day, they again called me to update me with their service man's expected ETA. Mat arrived on time. He was thorough in checking the garage door and recommended a full replacement of the motor and spring. He went to their nearby warehouse to secure the replacements and was back at my home within 30 minutes. He worked on the garage diligently, and finished after about 2 hours. I appreciated that he gave me a thorough run-down on operating the garage door opener, and how to manually operate it in case of power outage. The product is well made, has a warranty and service repair guarantee. Mat was very efficient and courteous too. A young man doing a good job. I will gladly recommend them to others! Review of GDI Garage Doors I recently contacted several garage door companies, including GDI, to evaluate our old garage door and provide bids for repair or replacement. The technician who came out, I believe his name was Andrew, left us with a very negative impression. From the start, he was extremely pushy. After going over his recommendations, I told him I would review everything with my wife before making a decision. His response was, "You can't make a decision without her." I ignored the comment, but it felt inappropriate and dismissive. I reiterated that this is simply how we handle decisions in our household, yet he continued pressing. He then offered to oil the springs and make adjustments, saying he would deduct it from a future bill. I explained again that we weren't ready to move forward, but he didn't seem to respect that. Instead, he told me that because he had driven an hour to get here, I essentially "owed him some work." The entire interaction felt more like a high-pressure timeshare pitch than a professional service call. To make matters worse, before leaving he said he needed to "check with his boss" first, as if he wasn't allowed to leave without permission. That was unnecessary and uncomfortable. A technician should never make a homeowner feel trapped on their own property. We've been renovating our home and have dealt with many contractors and service providers. This was by far the worst experience we've had. Based on how I was treated, I can't imagine how he might treat a woman in the same situation. Respect, professionalism, and listening to the customer should be the baseline in this industry, and unfortunately, this visit fell short. read more

I completely understand no two garage doors or repairs can be the same... but my parents have a garage door that your company installed less than a year ago... something was not working correctly, so they called for a service request... service rep came and pressed the reset button, and the door works again. My gripe with you people is how I don't understand how you can charge an elderly couple $125 just to press a button to reset their garage door?! Oscar was great. He came promptly after hours, was nice, explained what was needed, and showed me how I can better maintain the moving parts of my garage door. At the reasonable price of $89, he fixed a bolt that had broken out of its roller, and he showed me a future problem that I will eventually have to deal with -- it has just one spring across the cables, and when it breaks, it should be replaced with two so the 300 pound door will still be able to move manually. read more

Normally, I submit a project on Yelp and get several companies that I would be happy to use. Unfortunately, for this project, we had three companies respond and we didn't trust the quotes on any of them. One company barely took 20 seconds to diagnose the problem and said we needed all new systems - springs, bars, and opener. Another company looked at one door and said it's a complete overhaul and didn't even look at the second door (which was a minor fix). The last one didn't seem like they were going to stand behind their work and weren't sure what to do. Then we came across GDI. Jonathan showed up right when he said he would. Really took his time to figure out what the problem was, and the best solution. He gave us several options and explained why he would or would not personally do each option. Now that's integrity. He waited around while I called the landlord and got approval. Then he went right to work. He said it would take about an hour, but he finished in about 45mins. Then he proceeded to clean up the area and the door itself. He even looked at our second door and said it just needed a quick maintenance, and even did that! Apparently GDI bought out all the competition so they can price gouge everyone. Stay clear as they over charge and don't stand by their products. I called this garage door/opener company to replace the remote keypad outside my garage. 7 times they made an appointment with a 3 hour window. All 7 times, they never showed or called to let me know they couldn't make the appt. On the 8th time, someone arrived and made an arrangement with me to return the following Wed. and I was going to have them replace my entire system since it was very old. He gave me a quote on what that service would cost. On that Wed (today) that employee never showed or called to arrange a better time. Several hours after the time window, a different employee showed up. He did all of the work promised and was a great guy However, after the installation, he told me it would be about $150.00 more then the agreed upon price. I called his office on speakerphone so the worker could hear my conversation. I asked to speak to the company's owner. An unknown man identified himself as the owner and I asked for his name. He immediately hung up on me. I later called and spoke to a "Mikey" who said he was a manager, and that the owner wasn't available. When I told him his techs had no called, no showed me 7 times, his response was that sometimes calls go over the estimated time and that causes techs to be late. I told him that long before 7 times, they should have given me some kind of expedited service. He said "Well, you still got a great price for what we gave you" I explained that I have no idea what the range of services and equipment cost, that I only expected the cost to be what was quoted to me. His answer was "Show me your written estimate" I'm sure he said that knowing I was never given a written estimate. I asked if he could simply talk to the tech who gave me the quote. His response, "sure I'll ask him for his written estimate" I knew I was wasting my time and asked him to have the owner call me, I doubt that will ever happen. Original complaint: diagnose the unhealthy, grinding, & shuttering noises coming from my older garage door opening. Reliable and did the work correctly. Our garage door took a little hit from a car and both the door and guide rails were pushed in quite a bit. Brandon fixed it so it would work and provided a fair estimate to replace two damaged aluminum and glass panels of the door, that is half of the total door. Price was right. Do not to business with these folks. They used to be know as Anytime Garage Doors and closed down, presumably because the many yelp complaints they received. Please search Anytime Garage Doors to see a plethora of bad reviews. Now my two cents. Their customer service department is terrible. I called for a minor repair to my garage door and I set up a late morning appointment (between 11:00am and 2:00pm). They guaranteed some would show. I then get a call at about 2:05pm that they were running late and that they would have to push my appointment between 3:00pm and 5:00pm or get and appointment the next morning. I chose the late afternoon (cancelled plans to do so) so long that the could guarantee they could fix my door. They promised it would be no problem. I then get a phone call at 4:00pm that they could not send somebody out after all and said the could reschedule the appointment for following week. I spoke the customer service folks who sounded that they could care less about their broken promises. Seeing that I was not going to get anywhere, I hung up and called another company. If I could not give any stars, I would have submitted my review that way. Terrible company. read more

I have continued to be harassed by telephone, text and now a demand for payment on the services on the contract they actually returned to me in person (after I cancelled with 3 hours). AWFUL!!! I had a service tech come out and give me a quote. He was supposed to come back and install the motors and parts a few days later. He never showed up and I never received a phone call. Finally after almost an hour on hold (after calling 3 times) a different tech showed up. The quote he gave me was a lot more expensive. He explained why there was a difference, and we decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. After a couple of weeks we noticed one of the doors was crooked and made an appointment for the tech to come back out and fix it. I waited the entire day, and made 3 calls to the company and was ASSURED the tech would be out today. Since it was a repair and not something they would make money on, they don't give a *****! I was told their warranty and service was second to none, but it is B.S. I wish I hadn't wasted my money because I sure have wasted a lot of time. read more
