D&D Smokes & More - Amazing spices, made in Cedar City. I want them all!

I've been driving past this place for the past year wondering what it was? A friend wanted a pipe,…read moreso I said I'd go with. It's a small convenience store with lots of random items. A section of it is a smoke shop. You have to show ID to go into that part. Great selection of just about anything you could want as far as a smoke shop goes. Also a little adult section, which I found pretty entertaining! The rest of the store has a little bit of everything: food, drinks (including beer), snacks, gloves for construction, fishing and camping items, lots of misc stuff. But what caught my eye were the spices. A vet in Cedar City makes them, and oh my gosh, they are amazing. Bold, fresh, unique flavor combinations. I'm a chef, I'm picky. I was so happy. I bought a few but will go back to get more. The staff was super friendly, helpful. The store well laid out and organized, clean. My overall experience was great. So then I thought, why the 1.5 stars on Yelp? Then I looked. 20 of the 31 reviews were from different people, dated 4/23-24/2018 talking about racists bumper stickers. I didn't even notice bumper stickers, if they did had them? And it drives me nuts when one person is offended or bothered by a business then tells all their friends, who have never been there, some who have not even ever written a Yelp review, to write a bad review. Wrong. This isn't what Yelp is for!! I will be back! I am glad to have a little market near by, with friendly faces ringing me up behind the register!

BUYER BEWARE!!!…read more They deserve negative stars. Went in yesterday & asked for a very specific product. I also asked a lot of questions. The sales girl seemed half awake and very confused. It took her 3 times to count my change correctly. She said it was too early in the morning for counting. It was 11:15 AM. The product was in a glass case, she grabbed it, I paid for it and I walked out. I never even touched the product until after I was given my change. It was in very similar packaging to what I asked for so I had no reason to "research" the product in between the sales girl removing it from the glass case & my purchase before I paid for it (which was the "managers" rationalization) Got in my car to realize it was nothing at all what I asked for. What I was sold is in completely different category than what I asked for. When, actually, THEY DONT EVEN CARRY OR SELL the product I asked for and was sold, hence my request of a refund. I even offered to settle for some type of exchange, which was a met with a laugh. That's "against policy" as well. I go back to calmly explain and was immediately met with blame, hostility and unbelievable rudeness. It was shocking, really. There were 4 employees talking over the "manager", all telling me I was wrong. The "manager" had NO IDEA about the products her store sells. She made extremely conflicting statements & had to ask 3 different employees if they even sell it. And she had a horrible attitude. She was never kind, compassionate or sympathetic. she said the thing about researching your purchases & that it was an honest human error, oh well. This was a $110 error, not on my part. Yes, mistakes happen, but there are also exceptions to the rules. If your employee makes a $110 mistake and admits to it, it is not up to the customer to eat that money. You either return my money and take it as a loss or work it out w/ the employee that has no clue what she's selling, can barely keep her eyes open & cannot count out money. I asked to speak to the general manager and was told that it was her day off and that I could come in tomorrow. I've called twice, the reply is the general manager isn't in, she'll call you back... Nothing. in addition to the store taking advantage of me - they stole from me, lied to me and then made fun of me. I was so frustrated & upset in the aftermath, that I was sitting in my car crying and one of the clerks (long blonde ponytail) came out and waved and laughed!! WHY?! At this point, I know that I'm not going receive a refund or really anything from this review. But, I want the owner to know how their employees treat their customers. Shameful & an embarrassment to the term customer service. it is NOT OKAY for anyone to be treated the way I was.

Antiques, Etc. may be St. George's most underrated and underhyped store when it comes to not only…read moreantiques & collectibles, but also to consignment-type furniture. Maybe that it's relatively new status, with an April 2018 ribbon-cutting. I'm a post card collector, so I'll start there: A excellent, well-organized, and high-quality selection, especially for U.S. places. Usually a disorganized afterthought, it's great to see well-kept and beautiful post cards. IMHO, Antiques, Etc.'s greatest selling point is its wood furniture: Tall-boys, dropleaf tables, desks, chairs, buffets, China cabinets... to name a few. Is there an overall theme to the stuff? I'd say it has a very Midwestern, early 1900s vibe. It's easy to tell this is a well-curated collection. I do have a small recommend: Simplify the discounts by putting the percentage off right on the tag. The place is a little random in nature, but it's fun to find random stuff like quilting materials and patterns, tobacco canisters, a Band Director's uniform, and my personal fave, the 1940s GE L-916 floor console radio. Co-owner Mick is very friendly and easy to work with. He's been in the antique business for 30 years, and is a welcome addition the St. George antique community!
