Let me start by saying that I haven't tried much Honduran food, so I don't have too much to compare…read moreto. I've seen this red stand sitting idly in the closest gas station to my house, but it was never open or anything. But just a few weeks ago, I saw a grand opening sign, and now they're open! I stopped by... because it's right near my house and it's not fast food, so how could I not?! As the name suggests, they have baleadas, but they also have pupusas, flautas, and more. I have had a baleada once before, but I had to try a new one. It's... hard for me to describe... maybe like a breakfast quesadilla? But even so, it's still different. But I got that and it was flavorful and yummy! I also got the zambos preparados because I was not familiar with them. It's a brand of plantain chips from Honduras, and they basically turn them into nachos! And they even keep them in their original bag... that was fantastic! I might've enjoyed them more than the baleadas. I went back to try their pupusas, which were also good -- not as great as others I've had. I need to try their drinks next time. It's great having a unique food stand that's so easily accessible in the gas station. I wish them the best and, I'm not sure if it's the owners I've interacted with, but they're quite gracious.

I wish that Yelp would allow for 1/2 because they were a solid 3.5, and while I feel bad giving…read morethem a 3, I can't justify a 5. This was my first time tasting Honduran food, and I enjoyed it. Since it was my first time, I had the namesake --- Carne asada baleada. I appreciated that if it was made to order, down to the tortilla. The portion size was generous, and it was flavorful. I also enjoyed my tamarind drink. Since the truck is in an overcrowded gas station, parking was a challenge. It was also difficult to order because the cashier/cook did not speak any English. She asked a gentleman who was waiting for his food to translate for me. . Pro Tip: Park by CVS and walk over.

They're usually closed the days that I'm in the Upper Marlboro area, but not this time! It's in the same Plaza as the Amish market, so there's plenty of parking. I stepped inside and there were a couple of chairs for waiting along the window. Otherwise, it's a small open space and there are desserts on display, I'm in you to read, and very polite staff behind the counter. I decided to get the blackened salmon and shrimp entree with collard greens and mac and cheese. I got their salts at caramel banana pudding for dessert. I decided to use my insulated bag and wait until I got to my friend's house to eat. I love the shrimp and the salmon. They were seasoned well, but not to a point of tasting too salty, which can happen at a lot of soul food restaurants for me. Unfortunately, despite the good flavor, this was the case with the collard greens, whew. Also, there is turkey in there, so don't get it as a vegetarian option! The mac and cheese was good... Not sure where I would put it in my rankings, but I enjoyed it. That banana pudding.... Whoa. It was the perfect dessert, and I would happily get it again. The salted caramel and banana balance surprisingly well. Their top rankings are well deserved, and I am looking forward to trying their wings and other items next time!

The fish was seasoned very well...my fried shrimp were tooooo salty...the mashed sweet potatoes were ok...greens bland, Mac & cheese-eehhh & the potato salad disgusting. Smh...this place has definitely fallen off since I remember...WHAT HAPPENED?! lol Isn't the saying: "things get better with time" ??? Not in this case... Oh & my hush puppies were ok...& that caramel banana pudding was tooooo freaking sweet for me... I was disappointed... was rooting for this spot! I remember when the owners were first beginning... not too many good local soul food spots that have good potato around here... & the customer service needs help! Happy Yelping!

Cajun fries were good but for the price, they for SURE need to double the quantity. Crazy how few fries they gave. Cookie Butter Milkshake was really good! Very sweet but a solid shake.

I appreciate the packaging and presentation of their burgers which is always professional consistent. The Bacon Double (beef bacon) is excellent accompanied by the Akh Sauce. The Cajun Fries are delicious, however, the cook is too inconsistent. At times, the fries are over fried. Crinkle cut fries are unforgiving, so even a few extra seconds in the fryer and you're dealing with more crunch than crisp. For the price and that reason, I simply stay away from the fries. The flavor is excellent, but the execution is too much of a risk. The milkshakes are also delicious, however, these aren't your conventional ice cream shakes. They are more on the creamy and airy side. I've tried a few and although delicious, the ingredient ratios seem off and the creamy texture and whipped cream leans too close to a frothy mix. The mocktail mojitos are delicious and refreshing. The customer service is OK. RECOMMENDATION: Order ahead at least 20 minutes in advance and especially on Fridays and Saturdays when they are busier. There were times when they were understaffed and ordering in-person was over a 40 minutes wait.
