Excellent convenient store located directly on the highway. I stopped in to get some juice and bottled water. HUGE AF selection of beer! Also cool local Coffee K-cups in case you wish to try something new and aren't in the mood to purchase the entire bag of coffee. Parking is easy in and out and the ready made sandwiches looked fresh. Your veggie subs are a disgrace and I can't remember having a worse sandwich. And the price is the same as meat sub, so you'd assume it would be packed with veggies. Nope. I literally had to bring back the sub and ask them to add more veggies because it was awful. The pickles were so bitter, and not sour but bitter. The entire experience was bad. And the cost of a slice of cheese, and THAT homely slice of cheese, is also tragic. All out of whack and a cash grab for tourists driving by. read more

If you are at Spofford Lake this is your best (and only) option nearby. Thank goodness they have everything you need for your quick trip to the lake! We had the Aloha Chicken Pizza and we very much enjoyed it. I had a slice of Veg. at some point - also good. The convenience store has a lot of snacks and pre-made take aways, and a giant beer fridge. They have both an indoor seating area and a deck that you can eat your food at if you are not taking it to go. It's definitely an asset to the area. read more

Came upon this place randomly driving home from hiking Mount Monadnock. I did not try their pizza, but instead had my go-to sandwich of seafood salad. As a connoisseur of seafood salad from gas stations and delis, I was caught off guard by this place. It was fantastic with huge chunks of imitation crab meet and small pieces of celery. My grinder was massive and filled to the brim with seafood salad. It was made fresh and quickly by the attentive staff. This place also has a huge selection of alcohol and is sort of like a small grocery store. I am writing this review to remind myself of this place for future hikes of Monadnock. read more

The mister and I have not had much luck in the pizza department up here. Turns out neither of us is a fan of Greek-style pizza, which is pretty much the norm--hard crackery crusts, often too much dried oregano, which reminds me of basically every restaurant ever growing up in the Chicago suburbs. When the best pizza to date is from a local supermarket, you may consider the bar sufficiently low. With that caveat in mind, Spofford Pizza has been a revelation. I've been filling up at this gas station for awhile as it's cheap and conveniently located, but I didn't go inside for a long time, and was shocked, SHOCKED I tell you to find an entire pizza parlor/sandwich shop inside (not to mention the surprisingly large beer store!). One day I decided to take a pie home to the mister and see if it was as good as it looked on the crowd of lunching workmen's plates. Spofford Pizza is hands down the best, non-Greek-style, cheesy, savory, crusty pie I have ever had from a gas station. Oh, and it's pretty good against all the pizza parlors in the area too. Is it as good as the supermarket pizza? Surprisingly...no. Market Basket still wins, especially when the price is considered. But Spofford Pizza is much closer, and the folks running it have a much better attitude too. I've gotten whole pies to go a couple times and always had it hot and fresh and presented with smiles. The pizza itself has enough cheese, though it appears to be part-skim, and the sauce is not too sweet or herby, the banes of my pizza love's existence. The mister and I are split on the sausage. I say it's a decent fresh italian sausage crumbled on top; he says it's on the frozen "sausage niblet" side. Either way it's not bad, nice fennel flavor. Seems to be a popular lunch spot, the deal is something like 2 slices (quarter of a pie) and a soda for $5. Decent seating, crayons for the kiddos while you wait. I found myself in a Sahara Desert where nothing could be found while dying of thirst and hunger AND suddenly this place THE BIG DEAL convy store, pizza and gas station showsup. I go in and realize that finally I saw HEAVEN.... They have stuffed the store with everything almost anything and the owner himself was great and the ladies in the counters and restaurant were very polite and mostly THEY WERE PRETTY MUCH BEAUTIFUL..... Local, convenient and priced well. Friendly people get friendly service, not something hard to figure out. The food is good, pizza, breakfast and lunch for a quick pick up to the lake, or the I forgot's on the way home. Beer and wine a plus. Can't go wrong. read more
