I don't know if you've experienced this in other salons but, some stylists will just mix the hair color then have their assistant apply the color. I was swept away by the service they deliver: They have comfortable seats, fast wifi and free flowing tea/coffee. The actual hair care experience was nothing short of superb! Luckily, Status Salon in Katipunan has really competent stylists who aren't afraid to rise to the challenge that is my long, curly hair. Growing out your hair is a totally difficult and awkward process and I needed help to style it so that people could finally stop telling me that I look like a freaking lesbian. Once I got there, I was immediately greeted by the friendly stylists. The girl who was staying at the counter told me that they have a promo for all Ateneo students. Students would get 50% (or 70%; I don't remember) discount on their hair cut. As I sat down the chair, the stylist asked me what style I wanted. He also gave suggestions to fix my hair issues. They did not disappoint me! After I got my hair cut, they also told me that they sell products like mousse and hair spray to maintain my hair's shape and volume.

To be honest, I worked with Ara before when I was still in the hair and beauty industry and I was always a fan of her work! Her hairstyles are dreamy and her makeup style is just flawless. I know there are makeup artists who want to show that they ca do edgy makeup to bridal. With Ara, her main goal is to make every woman's makeup fit her style and personality. During the makeup trial, since I don't wear a lot of makeup on a regular basis (actually, I do not wear makeup at all!), I relied on her to make the best decision for me. And because of that, she did not use heavy make up on me, which I appreciated a lot! She also listened to my husband's requests and adapted quickly (request for airbrushed makeup and hair style) and prepped my makeup and hair extensions to be ready for those changes. She was very easygoing and comfortable to work with, making the session fun and go by quickly! On the day of the Wedding day, while everyone was enjoying breakfast, Ara arrived so early! I was actually surprised at how early she was (2 hours before call time). But, it was so that she could set-up the makeup stations and so that my entourage could get their makeup done first. Ara and her team took care of my bridesmaids, my mom, my mother-in-law and I. We stayed on a good schedule (going over the scheduled time by just a few minutes) and had a lot of FUN! They were on time, worked efficiently, and no one felt rushed at all. After the ceremony, she and her team touched up all our makeup and she also changed my hair for the reception!
