I have thick, wavy, bushy hair. In Filipino, we have a single word for all these adjectives -…read morebuhaghag. It could be nice and manageable, but Manila weather and humidity is unforgiving to anyone without sleek, rod-straight hair. I grew up in buns and ponytails. But once I got old enough to dump harmful products on my hair, I started rebonding it. There were disasters, of course. They left my hair brittle and damaged. And then, there was Bang's Tony and Jackey. PROS: I've been having my hair done there for three years now and I am satisfied by the way my hair stays manageable but not oddly flat. They have this "volume rebond" thing where you can have straight hair with volume and body. It doesn't damage my hair too since they include this keratin treatment on the package; They give you loads of magazines, drinks of your choice, and a good head and shoulder massage; Watch out for sales and vouchers, which can give you discounts of up to 50%. CONS: It sets you back at least P5,000.00. That would be whatever length your hair is, using the L'Oreal products. They have the cheaper brands too and that could've been just P3,000.00 at most, but the hairdresser *who actually works there* vehemently discourages it. Why do they even offer it then?; Why do they have to dress their attendants in Lolita schoolgirl outfits? TL;DR: Bang's Tony and Jackey provides quality products and services, but you better get ready to pay up.

Korean-themed fashion-oriented establishments have been attracting a significant portion of the Filipino market. One of which is the salon industry.Korean salons are popping up all over the metro, and we're not complaining! We can now have the same hairstyle as your idols in your favorite koreanovelas when you visit Tony and Jackey. I totally loving the oh-so-gorgeous do's I get as a result from their new techniques and cool gadgets they have.Tony and Jackey (derived from the salon's pioneer Korean hairstylists) these days, is almost synonymous to celebrity hairstyles. This Korean Salon specializes in Asian hairstyles and uses products purposely made for Asians thereby ensuring the best results for Asian clients. Apart from that, Tony and Jackey also utilize top-of-the-line equipment-- from digital perming to the scissors the stylists use. To ensure quality services, every hairstylist at Tony and Jackey attends beauty schools and is intensively trained. One step into the salon and you can feel being transported to Korea -- from the services Tony and Jackey offers to the accommodation in gives. Their modern salons have touch screen mirrors that turn into a screen where clients can see their services and even a hair simulator where clients can see what they will look like after their chosen treatment. They also have style books which contains different types of haircuts. If you're looking to add some texture to your hair, you should try the Korean Digital Perm (P3000). This treatment will definitely add some sex appeal to your strands. Once they apply the solution and rollers, they hook you up to an octopus-like machine to start the perming process. The results: soft, flirty, waves that usually last longer than the traditional perm. Tip: If you are concerned about dryness or damage, tell your stylist so he or she can adjust the heat settings on the machine.

I have some thick hair so going to the hair salon takes forever. The hairdressers are nice and listen to what you want. The assistants who dry my hair do the hard work. They must have strong arms especially when drying my hair. It's like a 30 minute arm workout just drying it. Definitely try to make an appointment. If you do a walk in it might be a while. I love my hair colouring from here. I've gone to other salons but my hair colour never really changed until I went to Bench. I have gotten lots of compliments with my hair colour so it must be good. Also once you start going here a lot make sure to remember the name of the hairdresser you like. So that you can have them do your hair. I'll be coming back soon to get another hair colouring! I'm excited!!

The cut for men is an extremely reasonable 250 pesos, including shampoos before and after your cut, along with a super relaxing scalp massage at the end, along with styling. Highly recommend Mr. Donald! Very receptive and accommodating. Sometimes they know better than you do for what would look good on your head and what would make you look like a fool. I've never been disappointed with his work. I've been to a couple of the pricier men's salons in BGC and Makati, and honestly sans the beer and the hipster atmosphere, the cut here is just as good for a lower price.
