This has the look and feel of your typical Southern bbq place, however, it leaves a lot to be desired. The ribs were over cooked, dry, lacked flavor, and extremely fatty. The chili tasted like it came out of a can. The bbq sauce was very thin and vinegary. That being said, there were some bright spots. The wings were decent and the onion rings were pretty tasty. Another table ordered a burger and it looked really good. Stay away from the actually bbq and maybe you will have a better experience that I did. read more

We evacuated from Florida to the Oxford area during Irma. We happened across a yelp review for Big Daddy's and decided to try it on our way back from Talladega. My boyfriend was in search of really good ribs and he got them at Big Daddy's!! I had a simple Chicken Fried Steak Sandwich and loved every bite! We got 3 deserts! We are both big into homemade sweets. We were so overwhelmed by how good everything was. (I did not care for the strawberry cake but that's just me) The place was clean, the server was as nice and attentive as could be, we only wished we had time to come back again! Some good and some not so good. I stopped here after being on the lake all day and was hungry! I ordered a half slab of ribs. The flavor was really good but the they were TOUGH! My friend also ordered ribs and his were tough too. They needed to be in the smoker another 2 hours. Sauce in on the side and it really complimented the ribs. The sides were really good. There were a lot of people there so the place is popular. I will give it another try but will send it back if the ribs are tough. COVID Notes: Laminated menus are left on the table and are not wiped down or cleaned in any way. IMO, it should be done as a routine. My daughter and I sat down, grabbed our dirty menus out of the dirty table buckets (ketchup, hot sauce,etc) to see what we were in the mood for. I was wanting some ribs. Great place to eat! I grew up in Munford and other than fast food this is it if you're passing through and want some good home cooked food and BBQ. Big Daddy which is also our mayor can usually be found there and the nicest guy you'll ever meet. He recently did some adding on and it has an awesome outdoor deck. read more

Thats a plus. Not sweet or sour. Fair taste. Needs a little pepper and salt. But it is good. Potato salad is a great balance of flavors. Nice chucks of potatoes, eggs, and onions. Great taste. Add a little black pepper on top and its the bomb. Great looking menu. Ribs, grilled and smoked chicken, wings, burgers, dogs, sandwiches and even breakfast. Beef brisket is coming soon. And I've been told the smoked bologna sandwich with slaw is to die for. Can wait to come back and try other items. If your in this area, try this place. Can't go wrong. Something for everyone. OMGosh! This place is super good. The BBQ sauce is vinegary but not overwhelming so it's perfect, the ribs and BBQ pork is so soft and with the perfect amiu t of smoky. The owner type dude is cool too. He walks around B.S.ing with everyone cause he knows em all cause its a small town! Ribs should stand alone, in my opinion. The rub, along with the right smokiness and technique should produce a flavorful rib where sauce is optional. Big Daddy's fails this test. Ordered a half slab. 1/3 of the ribs had meaty ends so overcooked jerky comes to mind. With bbq sauce, they were edible except for the jerky portion. The sides were nothing special. Dessert was good, peach cobbler with Blue Bell ice cream. My wife said it best; no pig should have to die for this. I suppose we should have known up front.
