Very happy to find this Big Daddy's Bagels a bit closer to the casa. Had many a baker's dozen from Big Daddy's and loved every one. On this last vist, I went for the lid and bagel, New York style. Whose Big Daddy? I'd say... the Jalapeno Bagel w/ regular cream cheese smear is the Big Daddy of Daddies here. It's chewy, it's flavorful, it's classic with an edge of heat! It's absolutely the way to be :D I can't speak much on the service or ambiance, as I was in the car with my lil' peep squeak of a pup, but my husband was in and out with the goods in less than 5 minutes. We got a half dozen (Plain, Garlic, Onion, Jalapeno, Jalapeno Cheddar and Everything) for a fair price then brought them home to toast and smear ourselves. It made for a very delicious at home breakfast for the next two mornings. I'd highly recommend trying them for a quick breakfast option. read more

Ahhh, bagel breakfast sandwiches. How I miss you so! In a bit of a rush and came in here to grab an Omelette Sandwich breakfast sammy. Growing up in Northern Jersey, I've been spoiled with the best bagels in the country, but for Colorado, Big Daddy was pretty good! The sandwich was a nice size crammed with ingredients. This made me happy. Only thing that was a little weird tasting was the added hash brown. For some reason it tasted like fish. It was strange. This is a great place for those in the run looking for a quick bit, order ahead if you are in a real rush. Families would do well here and anyway really looking for a casual bagel sandwich. I'm a big fan of this location and usually catch them EARLY. They're friendly, fast and worth the meandering parking lot. They're well worth the stop and the bagels are tasty. The Golden location is usually a little punch drunk from the skier/runner/cyclist traffic by the time I've arrived. Great place to get your bagel fix, I recommend the 4 corners with bacon and the big daddy burrito. I'd give it a better rating but if not for the great bagels the customer service seems irritated if you're taking too long to decide. Go Daddy Yup. Let's go somewhere else, big daddy! There are two Yelp listings for this same bagel joint, so I decided to add my review in the one that had the real phone number. ANYWAY, I was intrigued to write my review on Big Daddy Bagels immediately after purchasing my families breakfast here. I don't know why but I felt like I needed to even if I have a million other reviews in my queue. I entered and the set up was very relaxed with patrons lounging. My kids quickly spotted the kids table as I proceeded to the ordering area. The lady I encountered was fairly kind but throughout my stay she became a tad flustered since a cute little rush followed me. There was also a gentlemen that was chit chatting with a patron/friend which I don't particularly mind since there were three staff members handy. Overall, being new to the area and to this establishment, I felt kind of tossed around. I wasn't the fastest "orderer" and, maybe I'm wrong, I probably didn't follow standard ordering protocol. I ordered a veggie bagel and 2 juice boxes with the main lady, then while she was getting to work on my order another lady took my pizza bagel order. I then proceed to tell the initial lady which veggies I wanted on my bagel. All the while the other staff members got busy with my other order and the patrons behind me. When it came time to pay I grabbed a day old muffin since I felt that asking "which flavor do you recommend" would be pestering at this point because of the line that grew behind me. No worries, it was faster since the "new" muffins require them to pack it for me and it also saved me a dollar. I also decided to order a Sunrise Smoothie. SMH, for shame I add another item to my bill when she asked, "will that be all." LOL, oh well. The total came to a little under $18. Tasty? EH! It was average. My veggie bagel was good and nothing out of this world. I did ask for a toasted bagel but it didn't seem to have come out as such. As for the pizza bagel, it wasn't all that. They spread your choice of bagel with marinara and melt cheese over it. A sprinkle of of oregano or italian seasoning would have made it a ton better. My smoothie was okay. I would have much rather grabbed a Jamba Juice or whatever the local smoothie rage is in the area. This place just didn't tickle my fancy. read more

I have been here for breakfast a few tumes. Overall it is pretty good food. Sometimes heavy on the cream cheese. Has an interesting breakfast burrito. The place doesn't seem clean and the seating isnt comfortable or friendly to more than 4 but it appears to be centered around takeout anyway. So that's why you're getting 1 Star in your review. I'm sorry but are you kidding me. This is supposed to be a sandwich that we paid about 10 bucks for and you're giving me one slice of ham. That's awful service honestly, subway gives out 3x that amount of meat for half the price on a FOOTLONG SUB. So sad, The employees are so surly and obviously miserable. I have to think there's no management and it's hard to tip when my order becomes a major meltdown for the service help. The stoner guy who is usually there even asked meltdown if he could take over, but she declined and THREW her first attempt in the trash 3 ft away. Thought I'd try Big Daddy's for a morning stop, and had a decent experience. The counter gal was friendly and recommended her favorite muffin - raspberry! Always a good idea, except here it means a plain-ish multigrain muffin with a small dollop of berries on the very top. The latté wasn't bad - it's hard being this far east of Ozo. I would have appreciated a louder shout-out when it was ready, rather than being notified a few minutes later that it was waiting on the counter. We stopped in for lunch - bagel sammies. My husband got a Reuben on a rye bagel which was actually pretty good. I got the Gobbler on a jalapeno bagel which was drenched in ranch - quite heavy, really. It was just okay. We got a couple bagels to go. I'm no bagel connoisseur. Theirs are very chewy, a couple even verging on tough. Perhaps this is a desirable trait in a bagel, I'm just not sure. Probably not my favorite though. We came here in a pinch - a holiday weekend when previous choices were unavailable. Wouldn't mind returning in the future. Perhaps a breakfast bagel sammie would be better. read more

BigDaddy's Bagels doesn't show up in the Yelp's Lafayette search and Yelp won't let you Check-In here, saying "you're too far away". If you click on 'Directions to Business' you're directed to a location that is two miles away from the actual store. So taking all of this into account, I ate a bagel and coffee this morning in a place that doesn't exist, that doesn't accept check-ins but does accept cash. I'll try again another morning on another dimension and with my cloaking device deactivated. read more

I just love this place! The staff is always so friendly and the food is delicious. It's so nice to have bagel shop that's not a big corporation that doesn't at all care about customers or getting orders right. In fact, I drive 12 mins out of my way to come here as opposed to the corporate bagel shop much closer to me. I always get a slightly complicated bagel sandwich with a bunch of stuff on it. Each time the staff takes their time to get it just right. It's wonderful that they take the time and commit to make sure it is perfect. The bagels are always fresh as are the veggies and cream cheese. I've never had a disappointing experience and will continue to come back again and agin! read more
