It has all the modern conveniences you could dream of, and yet still maintains the charm and integrity of being an antique home. I can't get over the wallpaper in the bathroom, the leather chairs and bed, and everything else. Not to mention the kitchen and the open areas for sitting are perfection as well. Terry- the owner, is a wonderful host that isn't intrusive but adds his own charm to the place. With his eye for detail, and his passion for Abilene history, you can see it throughout the house. He gives you a brief overview, and it will make you appreciate the home that much more. Also the breakfast he makes are pretty divine. We had breakfast souffle's and they were addictive. To be honest- the home made us so happy to be there and relax it was hard to leave- both during the stay and when we had to head home. I just wish there was a Sayles Landmark everywhere I traveled.

Do NOT recommend! Manager is very unprofessional and has stated that owner doesn't care what…read morerenters think. Treats tenants horribly, and is very disrespectful. She has laughed about how she talks to people. Customer service is not the Managers strong suit. Every time it rains, get a boat. Or at least waders. The amenities are at the managers discretion, meaning, if she doesn't like you or you are of the darker variety, she will look for every excuse not give the codes , and she changes them at will. The water is not good, we have screens on our hoses and 2 filters. The water shouldn't come out with dirt in it. Or blow the filter. Found rocks on our hose screen. Manager laughed about it. Manager us also known to kick people out for any reason. Dogs are supposed to be on leashes (I have been known not to put mine on a leash at times, I don't leave him unattended, ever), hers is not only never on a leash, but I have almost hit her twice. Manager was not even watching said dog either time.
