I was skeptical but my friend has a pretty good eye for picking quality restaurants so I trusted…read morehis gut. Plus, I really love mango sticky rice and hoped that they'd have it on the menu. Sadly, they did not but I understood the explanation. We ordered corn fritters, vegetable tempura, hand fried spring rolls, green curry with tofu, pad Thai, and a Tiger beer. It was good. I'm glad it was so good because it is not fast. Which means someone is actually cooking the food. Which we need to appreciate more. So go there when you're with someone whose company you enjoy and you aren't in a hurry. Sit. Have a beer or two and wait. It's coming and it'll be good. It's also good because it isn't TOO anything. My friend wanted more seasoning and asked if it would be rude to ask for salt or something. I decided that it would. This is a family spot. "You go tell him his wife's food isn't to your liking", I joked while savoring my dish. This man wanted to ask for salt or (gasp) soy sauce(!) and he had eaten the decorative vegetables on the plate. It was good solid Thai food. The server was kind and celebrated my sloppy attempts at speaking Thai. The spot is not what you'd expect, it's homey, the ceiling and walls covered in standard cultural decor but it gave speakeasy. Like a place the mob would frequent. Quiet, comfortable, private, and low traffic. This should he a neighborhood favorite.

I just wanted to add my vote to this great Thai restaurant. The food is very good, and the prices…read moreare very reasonable for London. It does have a cozy and friendly atmosphere. I just wanted to clarify a few points that were raised above but not fully discussed: 1) This restaurant does NOT serve any alcohol at all. Consequently, they do allow you to bring your own wine (which is great for saving money). So be sure to stop into one of the local shops on your way there and buy a bottle of wine. 2) Space is VERY limited. The restaurant is basically the dining room of an old house that's been converted into a restaurant. So it can get very crowded. Be sure to call first and make a reservation. I've seen people waiting outside this place for 30-40 minutes to get a table otherwise, and the first thing the waiter asks to in-coming customers is "Do you have a reservation?" And it can get crowded on week-days as well as weekends.

Take out is also a great option as the restaurant works pretty quickly, you just have to make sure you have cash as the restaurant is not registered on just eat or hungry house. The dishes are great value for money. My all time favourites are the massaman and yellow curry with coconut rice. Pad thai and pad see eew are amongst the best I've had in London. A diverse menu that would please a big group. They also have a selection of delectable starters and tasty salads that will make sure you don't leave hungry. They also allow bring your own so it's a great cheap and cheerful night out catching up wih friends.

I feel like an absolute fucking bellend tbh, spending all my time in fucking yumyums (which has the world's stupidest name and is only fun coz they have those tables that sink into the floor but half the time they don't let you sit in them anyway) when this absolute solid gold TREASURE is one minute round the corner. Anyway, the window seat is right next to some cute fairy lights and flowers and shit. As per usual I embarrassed my dining partner - 2015 Elite Yelper, Luke Y - by announcing that if this was a tinder date he would definitely be getting laid. BE WARNED THOUGH - romantic as it is, that table is draughty as fuck whenever anyone goes out for a cigarette. The food is the most authentic Thai I've had outside of actual Thailand. We ordered like the fat fucks that we are, and had fish cakes, chicken satay, squid and some kind of stir fried pork. I also rate their masaman curry and kanom jeeb dumplings more highly than I can express in words, and their homemade ice creams are fleek af too plus they do cool flavours like coconut and pandan. Your whole experience here is going to be heightened immeasurably by the cuteness of the tiny Thai grandma that serves the food. I just want to kiss her all over her jolly little face. She brings you these little spearmint chewy sweets with your bill that instantly take on the exact texture of pre-chewed chewing gum when you eat them. Maybe they are chewing gum? Either way, I swallow, but that's enough about my personal life LOL. All in all, it's an A+ experience every time. Big up Thai Cafe, I love you.

I had their spicy ground beef larb with coconut rice and was impressed, it WAS spicy and hot. Most Thai places play down the spice factor but they sure don't here. It doesn't look like much from the outside and I was here on a Saturday night and the place was empty. Nonetheless the girl here was really friendly the food was perfectly fine and the prices are beyond reasonable. I love finding places off the tourist radar.

I LOVE Thai food and when I saw a 4.5* spot just round the corner called Thailand, it just had to be investigated! We arrived and straight away noticed the great offer of a 3 course meal and a glass of wine for just £12.95 served throughout the week. Impressive! We were feeling flush and decided to choose off the a la carte menu but I'd definitely return to give the offer a whirl. We chose to share the mixed starter, and the crispy duck and pancakes to start, and then chicken penang, prawn pad thai and sticky rice for mains. Service throughout was polite and well timed, our waitress was in fact the owners daughter and shared some stories about her father and the two restaurants they own. She was wonderful! Now to the food - the mixed starter was a bit of a disappointment, there was just way too much deep fried vegetables rather than the good quality products like chicken satay and prawn toast. We actually had to leave the majority which was a shame. Now to the duck... NOM. Perfectly cooked and crispy, plenty of pancakes to share, plum sauce think a flavoursome and when put together with cucumber and spring onion, just perfection! Now to the best part - their Thai food is authentic, packed with a punch and truly delicious! The pad Thai had lots of large and juicy king prawns, the Penang was in a thick and creamy sauce - the best I'd ever had! All I will say is we would have like a little more veg (in both dishes) but this didn't take away from flavours of food, really great quality food! We really did enjoy the evening and we'll definitely be back for another girlie night soon! Highly recommended if in the area and a lover of Thai!
