Now, Eat doesn't escape any of these flaws. It doesn't feel like part of Brighton, and it doesn't feel interesting or special. The items sold in Eat can be purchased almost anywhere. That said, the items sold in Eat happen to be quite good. Sandwiches are freshly made here, aren't too expensive, and are available in a range of different flavours. The drinks selection is ok, and features some nice choices, such as shandies and fruit juices. The service is friendly, and there are many cakes and snack choices, such as crisps, available for your consumption. Thus, consequently I am forced to admit that, whilst Eat is sadly yet another rampaging chain, hellbent on sucking the independence out of quaint little towns everywhere, what it does, it does well. I'd personally recommend the Brie + Tomato + Basil Roll - £2.60 -, a Shandy - £1.05, and a Cheese Straw - £1.55. All three were very tasty.

Have been in a few times on the way to dance class and did once again yesterday evening. The coffee is lovely, I ordered a latte with a double shot. Sometimes at other coffee places getting double shot can make a latte bitter which is a shame because I enjoy the intensity of a double shot in my coffee. Here at cafe coho the coffee is lovely and smooth and no hint of bitterness. I thoroughly enjoy it and can see myself regularly getting off the bus a couple of stops early in order to grab a coffee here and walk a little bit further to get to class. The staff are always very friendly also. Yesterday they had an oreo brownie which looked amazing which I refrained from buying given that I was on my way to dance class, but if they have it again next time I'm wandering around shopping I will definitely try it!

We left feeling hungry as we didn't eat the salad or the fish, and very disappointed after paying the bill, we didn't want to spend more money on our lunch. Ever the bargain hunter, I generally visit here during the week when you can enjoy a 2 course meal for £12.50, although at the weekends it is only an additional £4. For the quality of dishes they offer this is a remarkable price I might add. Inventive dishes like Skate Wing and Chorizo Salad or Duck Confit (on a bed of lentils and pancetta) are presented with flair and precision and the waiters sweep dishes and fill glasses with minimal disturbance. The owner Elina hails from the Oseta region of south Russia and has brought some of the local cooking knowledge with her to breezy Brighton, and you can tell. I recommend the Oseta's House, a delightful dish of scrambled egg with halloumi, tomato, and spinach... it really is to die for! Coffee is good (to this writer's taste buds anyway, but I'm no coffee aficionado) and there are plenty of other choices on the drinks menu. On this occasion I went for the full menu - Morrocan spiced lamb pie with cumin carrots and raita for main course, and a Baileys bread and butter pudding with chocolate and cranberry ice cream for pud - both were delicious.
