Love the vibe of this spot. Took awhile for staff to take my order. Oat latte was great. Avocado toast was nothing to write home about.

As well as selling specialist teas and coffee, and…read morevarious tea making accessories, they have a lovely coffee shop selling all of their own brand drinks plus a good selection of cakes and hot food. Remarkably, this is all sold at a sensible price! I paid £3 for a pot of Earl Grey tea and a slice of raspberry and coconut cake - there are not many places you can get such a bargain in Brighton and Hove these days. The cafe is quite spacious, with both indoor and outdoor seating. They also cater really well for children with highchairs and a selection of toys to keep the little ones busy. The staff are very friendly and helpful, bringing my drink and cake over to the table for me, saving me from the usual balancing act with pushchair and hot drink! Overall, a great place to come for a quick refreshment break when shopping at the local businesses on the delightful Richardson Road.

I had scone with cream and jam..I was a little disappointed that the cream had been kept in the freezer and had clearly been microwaved to be defrosted as was a bit more like melted Ice-cream but the rest of it tasted nice. Looked like a wide range of savoury options so will be coming back again to try those. Would have been 4 stars but the cream let it down slightly for me this time. Free parking outside..bonus!

I…read morealways say I'm happy with an instant coffee and, to be honest, can never really taste the difference, but after my trip to Coffee @ 33 I feel like that's all about to change... The coffee I had was strong and flavoured like none I had ever had before - sharp, but not too bitter. Sweet, but not sickly. Perfection in a cute little white mug (with a tiny little handle). This place is cool, but still comfortable, with only a few seats dotted around the tiny interior. It's simple, but effective and very much has a modern and sophisticated feel about the place. The staff we lovely and friendly - just as I like em - and were happy for my friend and I to sit leisurely with our coffees and chat, which is nice considering their lack of seating (they could be in a hurry for a quick turnover, but they were not pushy at all!). The food looked to die for, but sadly I did not get a chance to sample any of it this time around. I'll be back to try it, and to grab myself another one of their fantastic coffees. Check it out everyone! It's worth it.

There's only room to seat about 10-15 people at the same time but it's worth making a special trip for the great service, friendly atmosphere and excellent coffee. The beans are ground fresh on site and both the normal and decaf coffee are from the London independent - Monmouth Coffee Co. Coffee. So far, I've tried the espresso, the cappucino, latte and americano and they were all sublime. For those feeling peckish, there's also a small but mouth-watering selection of home-made brownies, muffins, shortcakes, carrot cake and toasties. If only more coffee shops were like this, I'd hop, skip and jump down the street....

BETTER THAN A STANDARD CAFE…read more I've been here a few times with friends to study (and get lunch/drinks). It's quite nice. You can sit inside, outside on the street or upstairs on the rooftop terrace. Staff are usually very friendly. This place has a gluten-free cake on offer and a good menu with choice for vegetarians for a change. The iced coffee is amazing as is the home-made veggie burger. They also have good breakfasts that are served until 12. Yum.

Reasonably priced and serving food throughout the day, Lala's is a great choice for those looking for a quick coffee, leisurely meal with friends or even a full blown party (although I haven't seen it for myself I hear there is a roof terrace upstairs, plus ample seating on the street for sunnier days). Having made three visits in three weekends, I can highly recommend the sandwiches, salad plates and pancakes. All freshly prepared, the servings are exceedingly generous - I've never left hungry!

On this trip, in mid June 2025, we'd promised our American daughter a proper British "Cream Tea"…read more.. Somehow, we didn't expect to find it in Brighton, but this was the perfect place for it! After a long walk from Brighton Marina to the Pier, and a lot of shopping in The Lanes, we were ready for an Afternoon Tea! This Tea Shop is in the heart of "The Lanes", a picturesque location amidst brightly coloured shops, cafes and restaurants, in narrow, winding alleyways that make for a unique shopping area. It was lucky we went in at 4.30pm... They close at 5pm, but we were welcomed in as one of the last guests before they announced they were closed. It also meant we not only got a table, but the place started clearing out before we'd finished, so we ended up being the last customers, which was nice. It's a cute, cozy little tea shop, pretty on the outside and inside, with pictures of Brighton on the walls and an eclectic mixture of teapots, milk jugs and cups. It had been many years since I'd last had a "cream tea" and this didn't disappoint. We ordered some fruit scones and some plain scones (both were yummy but I recommend the fruit ones - the raisins & sultanas are really plump and juicy!). We also tried our scones both ways - cream then jam (the Devon way), and jam then cream (the Cornish way)... I'd been brought up the Devon way, but discovered the Cornish way is actually more to my liking! Both were yummy! We didn't buy any cakes, but the cakes (as well as the scones) are made fresh daily and looked delicious. And I must say, the tea itself was fresh and superior quality - loose leaf English breakfast, rather than bagged, really makes a difference. Our server was very sweet and friendly, and then, at the end, since we were the last customers, the shop owner came out to talk to us, and was super friendly and welcoming... She asked where we were from (always fun, as I'm British, but my husband and daughter are American). Despite it being the end of her day, she didn't rush us out at all, and enjoyed chatting with us. The whole thing was a delightful experience.
