Normally really pleased with this place. But actually. Really not up for coming here again now. I ordered a chai latte. It arrived. Looked AMAZING- see pictures for visual reference... And it was cold. Let me be honest, hands up I admit I'm normally one to exaggerate. But trust me, this drink was cold. I asked my friend if theirs was the same and they agreed. I didn't want to complain because I get embarrassed. But my friend was like, nah this isn't good. So we managed to get another one.... And the one we received was SLIGHTLY warmer. I was just like. You know what, allow this. You've pretty much given me a -3 centigrade drink, and now replaced it with a -1 centigrade drink. If I do go here again. I'll ask for extra hot!

When we walked in the morning after a very long Bonfire night in Lewes we immediately felt we were in for a treat. Time for a great brunch near the hotel pre check out. The atmosphere was relaxed, the coffees and smoothies came quickly and the menu looked amazing with lots of interesting looking twists on regular brunch dishes. The coffees particularly had beautiful deep taste though the cafe is a little too cool for school calling a regular espresso a 'short black'; it feels like bad business for your customers to have to ask what something is and feel like fools when in reality it's just a very standard item. We eventually settled on the amazing sounding harissa eggs benedict with guacamole and an avocado crush with poached eggs and salmon. As we waited for the food first our drinks finished then our hotel check out time time approached. As I took out the Yelp app 20-30 mins after ordering the food arrived. Whist the large order of avocado crush was indeed very large and very fresh the eggs benedict missed something. The guacamole felt under-spiced and the hollandaise lacked the richness of many other places. Overall if we were just having coffee or smoothies I think I'd give 4 or even 5 stars but the food service, whilst having so much potential, was really a damp squib. The slightly high price of brunch, £35 for two dishes (one very average), two coffees and a smoothie sealed the three star deal.

The second Cafe Coho in Brighton, this - much like it's other half on Ship Street- is a great little cafe! They serve the same delicious range of food and drinks and the wifi is strong and reliable, which makes this place a great working spot. The location of this cafe is really handy - a stones throw from the station and just minutes from the centre of town. The staff, too, are exceptionally friendly and seem happy enough for you to sit and work, so long as you buy the occasional something. The ambience of the place is great and it's definitely a spot I'd reccommend to anyone who wants a place to work away from home or the office.

    Decent looking latte here!

Today I've been at Cafe Coho and met up with one of my fellow Yelpers! I'd previously been told that the coffee is great and it has a nice atmosphere, so it made sense to go here. I arrived a little early so ordered a soya latte. The girls at the counter were nice and friendly and told me they would bring my drink over to me. Unfortunately the latte was incredibly weak, even though I had ordered a double shot - I don't like to cause a fuss, but I am very particular about my drinks so I asked one of the girls if she could put an extra shot in there, which she was more than happy to do so. She even offered to make the drink again for me from scratch but I told her she didn't need to. I think the particular brand of coffee they use must be a weak one, as I have since had a soya flat white which also doesn't taste very much like coffee! I haven't sent it back this time, the staff might start to hate me! I have also got a carrot and orange cake which tastes absolutely gorgeous. I would give Coho 5 stars but I've had to knock one off because of the weak coffee. I'll definitely come here again as its a really nice place, and you never know, today might have been a blip!

Excellent food served quickly and with kind baristas and servers! I ordered the avo & smoked salmon…read moresmash, and was served my flat white within 5 minutes with the food arriving about 5 more minutes after that. The price point of 12.75 for the food + 3 for the flat white felt reasonable, although I am still acclimating to using pounds (first day here!). Music playing was soft and pleasant, and the seating was plentiful and clean. Definitely recommend this as a quick breakfast stop!

Then when I…read morestumbled in this one in Ship Street I decided to try it, for my first meal in this city because had read the good review that Kerry G. made about it. The place was really busy but I managed to find a free table outside and spent several minutes looking at the menu and I couldn't decide what to eat as everything sounded so appealing. After making up my mind I chose the falafel, olives and feta on flat bread and an orange juice. The staff seemed really friendly, because you order at the counter but they bring it to your table. My lunch was yummy. Not a super meal, more like a quick bite for lunch but was quite good and the falafel wasn't too crunchy and hard as I experienced before. I decided to not stay for coffee as I wanted to try some other cafés but overall the place was a really good choice for lunch. Nice decor with a few tables to have a seat outside in the sun, pleasant staff, free wifi and a good spot for people-watching (my favourite sport!!).

This is a humble independent cafe selling decent coffee and excellent home cooked food. The owner Elina hails from the Oseta region of south Russia and has brought some of the local cooking knowledge with her to breezy Brighton, and you can tell. The food is exquisite, cooked to perfection and the menu is packed with inventive recipes. Specials change regularly and there is plenty of choice on the regular menu. I recommend the Oseta's House, a delightful dish of scrambled egg with halloumi, tomato, and spinach... it really is to die for! Coffee is good (to this writer's taste buds anyway, but I'm no coffee aficionado) and there are plenty of other choices on the drinks menu. Honestly, if you haven't been here you need to get down immediately. Right now. Drop what you're doing this instant. You won't regret it.

I had the avocado and smoked salmon on sourdough the first time and the fennel sausage and lentil stew the second time. I also had a brilliant fresh lemon and ginger tea and the staff were brilliant - really chatty and friendly, but not invasive. It was the right balance between informal and professional and I really appreciated it. I even left with a slice of Guinness cake (which was to die for). I really love this little spot, and certainly will be back to try the meat and cheese dishes.
