Nice Harley store with lots of parking, bikes, and apparel. It was nice to go in and not be harassed about buying anything and just allowed to peruse the store however long we wanted. My dad is a longtime Harley owner and I buy him shirts from each state and country I visit. We were driving through from Texas to MN, so this was a great place to take a break. They had a huge selection of shirts and their store logo is pretty cool with the barn and silos. They had a several items on clearance, and being a Harley store, you know apparel will be a bit pricey. If in the area, and into Harley's, I recommend it! read more

My fiancé and I got pre-approved for up to $20,000 loan and we want a Harley Glide,So I go there to look at some since this would be my first Harley,As soon as we walked in,It was like we were the elephant in the room,We walked and looked at least 5 bikes,NO ONE came over to us and Said can I help you,Or did they say Be with you in a moment,NO ONE talked to us at all as we walked around looking at bikes for 10-15 or so,One worker girl dark hair and piercings in her nose,Looked at us while finishing up her sunflower seeds as we walked out and still said nothing,First impressions are everything,And that place left a bad taste in my mouth,I'm taking my money and buying from a private owner!! Damn title clerk there is rude and slow as all get out. i purchased a bike and paid in full that day but they refused to let me do the tax title and license myself. this was a saturday, remember bike was paid for in full, now 10 days later after numerous calls they still have not sent the electronic release of the title to my county. excuse is we have to verify funds well i paid in full in cash, then its we have been busy like they cant hit a damn button on the computer, then after i talk to the lady and says she is processing right now it still hasnt been sent electronicly 4 hours later and i call again and she says still processing it. bulls--t. dont buy here they suck read more

In my opinion, they don't even deserve the one star I have to give to leave this review. I wouldn't let these guys work on my kids rollerskates. I purchased a 22 RGS from out of state with 1400 miles on it brought it to them to do an inspection and they informed me that they would not honor the warranty on the 131 kit and would rebuild it to a 114 if anything were to happen to it, even though it was done with 9 miles on it by the dealer prior to being sold the first time. Every time I have taken the bike in there, I have left angry at the experience save yourself the headache by manual and work on it yourself because big barn and route 65 are both owned by the same guy. read more

Don't buy a Harley here with a warranty because they won't honor it. Bought my Harley with 7k miles and have serviced it religiously. I now have 19081 miles. My head gasket it puking oil and they say it's not covered. What a joke. Biggest scam ever. Spend over 30k on a bike that has a manufacturer failure and the manufacturer won't stand behind it. I'll stick with Yamaha. Two thumbs way down. They are telling me that a head gasket is a wearable item. Well, where I'm from a head gasket is considered a major failure not a wearable item. Tires, brakes, clutches Etc are wearable items. That head gasket is NOT and should not be considered wearable item but at big barn they do. How is it wearable? Something else could have failed causing it to leak oil from the head gasket. I am a fully certified technician A1-A9 certification With an L1 Certification-advance engine specialist. Incompetence is the only word you can use to describe this place. 2 Months and still can't fix a bike. Never ONE time have they called me to tell me that they messed up and ordered the wrong parts, never once did they ever try to make things right. Donny from Sales tried to work with me for a week on why the Apex system is garbage and doesn't work but then CRICKETS! I have no idea how a place that has ZERO customer service skills is able to operate. Try calling and talking to the General Manager or owner and they are never there. I would highly recommend that you never step foot in this place unless you like throwing money away. read more

I bought a used 883l from them-Paid in full, tag and title out the door. What a piece of junk, if their service looked at it their blind. Parts missing, torqued bolts undone and missing-they didnt even know they had a PC5 on it, another piece of aftermarket junk. I wouldn't buy a bolt from them, and thank the gods nick is gone-save your money, do the work yourself-most HD parts are overseas parts-buy a shop manual ,but stay away from the stealer-Big Barn. I was in for my 4th bike purchase I had applied online and received and emailed from ESB saying they could not help me at this time. But the Internet Salesman was calling, emailing and texting me to come in everything looked good on his end. As soon as I got there I informed the guy I wasn't going to waste his time if I couldn't walk out with 2 used bike that I saw online. Black Iron 883 Sportster and a Black Denim Night Train. No problem but he had me come back the following day because his day was booked??? When I arrived I expected to see the bikes outside ready to pick up, well I knew I should have left right them. Salesman said they must be detailing them, nope he said they both got sold without his knowledge. So I told him I wasn't wasting anymore time. But he got me to stay and convinced me he had a newer bike coming in the following day just like the 883 and after that we would figure out the second bike. Closing time signed my name was told not to date anything because I wouldn't be picking up till tomorrow night. Bad sign, I just should've known better. Closing time again and he insists I have to pick it up because he had no way to get back into the building. He handed me 3 documents and pulled away, I followed pulling over at the state patrol office made 3 attempts to call. Texted him and told him he needed to come back because this isn't the bike I was told I was purchasing and I wasn't keeping it. He disagreed with the statement and said to call him in the morning. 5 denial letters later I was now approved by ESB in the middle of the 2nd month having it. They refused to take the bike back but decided to put the parts on that should have been on in the beginning and already having to look at the Breaks and a little work on them. 3 weeks later my uncle was kill on a bike that I should have not even had the bike due to the denials or even the right one at that. Fraudulent/Misrepresentation/ Deception / YoYo Sales Tactics. Iowa State Code 714.16- 715A.8 A notice to cure for $211 + late fee paid and asked for 2 deferments due to financial hardship was granted I thought. But I was wrong an Unlawful Repossession and Breach of Peace and was not aware the bike had even been taken from my gated back yard and a secured garage without anyone authorizing them to enter. No letters offering me my rights to regain possession, or place, date, time of the reasonable sale of my bike. The state of lowa's Repossession law says the Creditor can not legally collect the deficiency if the Repossession was illegal. I have all documents needed to proceed to end this, as they provided false statements and documents to the Attorney General's office. I won't even go into the 3rd party payment system Billmatrix, what a joke. Big Barn will be responsible for repairing my credit history and rating. Big Barn Harley Davidson is a large, well stocked and organized store. I was visiting from Pennsylvania, and my son and I rented two Harley's so we could have some fun. I do not write reviews but felt compelled to write because Rick Zimney, in the rental department at Big Barn, was so very kind and helpful. He went above and beyond; he not only made sure we were satisfied with the bikes we were renting, but it was very obvious that he cared about our safety as well as our being happy with the bikes. Worst experience ever.... I take my Ultra Classic in for a 15k service.... My Ultra is crashed by the service tech during a test ride. This was a single vehicle accident no one else was involved.... I work with them and allow them to make the necessary repairs. As it turns out this was a huge mistake. When I finally get the bike back.. There are more scratches on than when I left it with them to begin with... They still charge me the $400 for the 15k service. The rear brakes don't work when I ride it home. I pull over to find out why and I discover the rear master cylinder is empty. I was promised that the bike would be fully detailed. This also wasn't done. There is oil and dust smeared all over the bike. I will also be left with doing a full detail on the bike. read more

I went over to Big Barn to look at a used Iron 883, and I ended up with a great deal on a new one! They were friendly, helpful, but not pushy from the moment I walked in. I got a very fair deal on my trade-in (a Suzuki sport bike, so not at all up their alley). They took the time to walk me around the store and service area to give me a sense for what's where. Bottom line: this is a terrific Harley dealer. I've stopped in since and every time they're helpful, conversational, and aren't just trying to sell me a bike or impress me with their Harley-ness. Applied for credit through ESB was told I would be contacted shortly and that I was good to go, nothing the rest of the day. I go in the next day and see several sales people standing around not doing anything but can't get the time of day so leave for a bit assuming they are busy. When I get back exact same thing so I go down to route 65 and don't walk out with a bike (that parts on me) but was told they would follow in a couple days and hear nothing for two weeks (but do finally hear back from original salesperson after a week) I was Looking at big barns website after that two weeks and they got a really nice bike so message to see if it's still there and the guy says yeah and then I don't hear anything for a couple hours, he wants to put me in touch with the guy that waited a week to message me at first so explain the situation on why I would rather not wait explaining everything I have dealt with at this point he apologized and basically nothing else. Talked with my wife about everything that night and she suggested message and ask if they are willing to do anything to make it right and try and step up so against my better judgment I do reach out. Same guy said he was out for the day for personal reasons so I let it be for the rest of the week. I guess he didn't want bother passing info off or if he did no one cares to follow or or keep anyone in the loop. Terrible place terrible experience terrible communication. Avoid Harley like a disease folks. read more

Staff in apparel sales have always been friendly. The prices are insane though. Staff in repair have been pretty straight forward and accommodating. Large private lot. They offer 2nd Avenue Bike night as well as a motorcycle driving course if you want to drop way more than DMACC charges. If I never stepped foot in another Harley shop I would be good with it. Told them when I financed my new roadglide that I didn't have any extra cash and then they continued to not charge me sales tax so when I went to register then the state wants their $1800 dollars. Then not even 600 miles on a brand new bike and there's a chip the size of a dime in the paint completely rusted underneath and they won't stand by their product.
