Bernard was the BEST!!!!!! My friend rented a large kitchen space out for her birthday, and Bernard made a wonderful entrance in a banana costume. He was so energetic and enthusiastic, and everyone was completely enraptured by his performance. My friend is also a big fan of coconuts by kim petras, and Bernard did a whole little number for that. When you've got a sister as great as mine, sometimes "I love you" isn't enough and flowers just won't do. Sometimes, you've got to put a few calls in to have a grown man baby show up at her job to kick her birthday off right. Since I was not able to join my sister for her birthday this year, I knew I had to to bring it. A basket of vegan baked goods would be too obvious, my mother always sends flowers and all of the other options felt a bit too corporate for me. So I thought, "Damnit, I wish people still sent telegrams!" And well, apparently they do! Now, this will cost you 2x+ as much as flowers, but it will be worth every penny if you're sending it to someone that is fun, quirky and not easily embarrassed. I just sent an email query and they followed up the next day with a phone call for specifics. That's when I had a chance to ask more questions and confirm timing details. The man that I spoke with was very helpful and I felt super confident he understood the plan of action. Sure I had a little fear of spending that much for a few minutes of laughter and giggles, but it wasn't until I saw video that I realized just how worthwhile this was. To see my sister's expression, laughter, participation and just how hilarious the set was made it so worth it. He sang popular songs that mention "baby" in it as a medley, danced along and then read my message aloud to my sister and her coworkers. In all it wasn't much more than 5 mins of non-stop hilarity, but it's a once in a lifetime memory she will always have. We hired Big Apple Singing Telegrams to surprise our parents for their 50th anniversary. It was a HUGE success!!! Chris arrived at the restaurant in a red tuxedo and sang the top love song from 1969 (Sugar, Sugar) and Fly Me to the Moon. My parents were beaming and thoroughly enjoyed the special attention. Everyone in the restaurant, including the staff, loved it! (I got approval from the restaurant in advance and suggest that you do as well for whatever venue you'll be using.) They all clapped at the end and my parents continued to receive happy anniversary wishes from the staff and patrons throughout their time in the restaurant. Wow, just Wow! Sent my buddy a Hip Hop Twerking Pink Gorilla singing telegram today, and it was hands down the funniest and best $$ investment I've made in weeks. We ordered a singing telegram for our boss for his birthday. I'd done this once before for a boss years ago, and had such a great experience with that one, we thought it would be fun. Pluses: They booked the order and got someone out within 24 hours. They were super professional on the phone. They made an attempt to comply with our character request. Minuses: The "slutty cheerleader" we requested was not really in costume, she performed for two minutes, and obviously did not prepare any material ahead of time. Hello! Thank you so much Big Apple Singing Telegrams for three AWESOME performance we booked to a going away BBQ in my backyard in Astoria. The guests were a married couple moving away from NYC. We all pitched in and booked three performances in a row for a going away party and each one was incredibly unique. Jon (the founder) worked with me on how to escalate the fun with three performers, once every hour. We wanted to start from sweet and get to inappropriate and weird. I appreciate his flexibility and availability. This guy understands how to party! Lynn the Pink Gorilla was super sweet. She sang some Tina Turner songs and got our two guests of honor up to dance and sing. "Awwwws" and happy tears filled the air. Rated G for everyone An hour later Chris the man-baby came by and boy was he entertaining! Such confidence in his performance! I requested him to sing an Aerosmith song and he incorporated their names in the lyrics which was a nice touch. This was a brilliant 2nd act. Rated PG-13. And finally, oh boy... The Male Marilyn Monroe who was played by Luis. I'm not sure what word I can use. Insanely hilarious? You can tell this guy put a lot of thought into this. One of the most interesting acts I have ever seen. I have been to a few drag shows and I have never been so entertained. This was INSANE! The best part was him constantly and "accidentally" breaking the 4th wall pretending to be nervous. A genius, unique act. A tip for this one is don't introduce the act. Just let it happen. Rated M for Mature. Luis mentioned to me afterward that we were a very good and engaging audience and that's really important for these performers so if you decide to book a performer make sure a few of your friends are on in on it and PARTICIPATE! Don't be shy and give them permission to touch or sit on their guests because that's when the crying laughter comes out. I highly recommend! Consider the rules of 3 package! A group of us surprised our good friend with a singing old lady (Golden Girl) for her birthday. It was a bit challenging since we weren't exactly sure where/when our friend would be so we could tell the performer where to go, but Big Apple/New York Singing Telegrams was super accommodating and patient with us. The performer did a great job, totally surprising and embarrassing my friend (our intended goal). My friend also appreciated the card that the performer had printed out with our message. I needed a fun, embarrassing Valentine for my sweetheart and I got it. Bernard dressed up in a ballerina tutu costume and stripped out of a heart while singing to my boyfriend in front of his entire staff. He didn't sing too long so that people were "over it" and he was funny and appropriate, though still embarrassed my guy. After singing, he asked my boyfriend if he'd be my Valentine, which was a cute touch. He said yes even though I wasn't there. I loved watching the video others took for me!! Extremely happy with the valentine gorilla I sent to my fiancée. I called at 2pm and they had the gorilla at her office in full costume with balloons before 5. This was with them coming from Manhattan all the way to Long Island. They were extremely courteous on the phone and were able to schedule me, even after a Long Island company couldn't!!
