Bernard was the BEST!!!!!! My friend rented a large kitchen space out for her birthday, and Bernard made a wonderful entrance in a banana costume. He was so energetic and enthusiastic, and everyone was completely enraptured by his performance. My friend is also a big fan of coconuts by kim petras, and Bernard did a whole little number for that. We will be laughing about this for a looooong time. Thank you Bernard for your wonderful show! Could not recommend more :) read more

Mitch was great to work with in booking our singing telegram and our performer, Bernard, went above and beyond. What a hit!!

When you've got a sister as great as mine, sometimes "I love you" isn't enough and flowers just won't do. Sometimes, you've got to put a few calls in to have a grown man baby show up at her job to kick her birthday off right. Since I was not able to join my sister for her birthday this year, I knew I had to to bring it. A basket of vegan baked goods would be too obvious, my mother always sends flowers and all of the other options felt a bit too corporate for me. So I thought, "Damnit, I wish people still sent telegrams!" And well, apparently they do! Now, this will cost you 2x+ as much as flowers, but it will be worth every penny if you're sending it to someone that is fun, quirky and not easily embarrassed. I just sent an email query and they followed up the next day with a phone call for specifics. That's when I had a chance to ask more questions and confirm timing details. The man that I spoke with was very helpful and I felt super confident he understood the plan of action. Sure I had a little fear of spending that much for a few minutes of laughter and giggles, but it wasn't until I saw video that I realized just how worthwhile this was. To see my sister's expression, laughter, participation and just how hilarious the set was made it so worth it. He sang popular songs that mention "baby" in it as a medley, danced along and then read my message aloud to my sister and her coworkers. In all it wasn't much more than 5 mins of non-stop hilarity, but it's a once in a lifetime memory she will always have. Couldn't give this a stronger recommendation if you've got someone special in your life that you'd like to surprise in the most random and upbeat was possible! read more

I live in Georgia, my son goes to school in NYC. He's a performer so booking a singing telegram for his birthday was a no brainer. However, it was his 21st birthday celebration so it had to be epic, and boy was it. We asked for Beyoncé and Bernard brought the house down! I spoke to my son and his friends after and they LOVED it! They said Bernard was so happy and entertaining! He even called the contact person before so they were able to record the whole thing and send it to me! I was so sad to not be able to spend such a monumental occasion with my son but Big Apple Singing Telegrams gave him the surprise of a lifetime! Thank you so, so much! read more

We hired Big Apple Singing Telegrams to surprise our parents for their 50th anniversary. It was a HUGE success!!! Chris arrived at the restaurant in a red tuxedo and sang the top love song from 1969 (Sugar, Sugar) and Fly Me to the Moon. My parents were beaming and thoroughly enjoyed the special attention. Everyone in the restaurant, including the staff, loved it! (I got approval from the restaurant in advance and suggest that you do as well for whatever venue you'll be using.) They all clapped at the end and my parents continued to receive happy anniversary wishes from the staff and patrons throughout their time in the restaurant. Chris has an amazing voice and delivered the message with style and grandeur! He exceeded all expectations. Thank you, Chris!!! Jon was so easy to work with and was incredibly patient as we pulled our plan together for time and location (my parents were not very cooperative about sharing their plans lol). Jon was also very helpful in talking through costume ideas and song choices. He also exceeded expectations in every way. Thank you, Jon!!! I highly recommend hiring Big Apple Singing Telegrams for your next special occasion. You will not be disappointed!!! read more

Brilliant!!! They were great! At least I am told it was amazing by those in the office. Called the day of for an old friend I wanted to surprise. Was afraid they wouldn't be able to get on the trading floor of his company. They worked it out no problem! Asked for a selection they hit perfectly!!! Best part though was when they asked if I would like the gent to dress in a sparkly tutu! 100% worth every penny. And it was reasonable for hiring a person to go somewhere and put on a small show! read more

I booked the Hip Hop Pink Gorilla for a 21st birthday in a corporate office. This was so much fun! Bernard can really bust a move and hype up the crowd in an appropriate way for the middle of the work day. Lol He showed up within the agreed window so make sure you time it out properly. Have your cameras ready because he walks in the door in character. John at Big Apple Is very responsive, pleasant, patient and professional. I will be using his service again. read more

Wow, just Wow! Sent my buddy a Hip Hop Twerking Pink Gorilla singing telegram today, and it was hands down the funniest and best $$ investment I've made in weeks. My friends and coworkers in the office where this went down, are still laughing hours after Bernard, our Hip Hop Twerking Pink Gorilla, just killed it with his performance. I've watched the video of this at least 10 times already. My friend/coworker I sent the telegram to, thought it was epic, and all of the people in our office were literally falling over laughing. I cannot thank Cody and Jon enough for making this happen in a few short hours today, and Bernard for his out of this planet personality and performance! I highly recommend these guys if you want to do something unique and fun for friends, family, or clients. #LaugterIsTheBestMedicine read more

‍ Unique service if interested in something different for a party.

I ordered the singing panda. The actor/performer was amazing. I loved it. My sister retired from the post office after 33 years last Wednesday. The panda did a outstanding job of singing and dancing. Super fantastic! My family was so surprised and my sister will NEVER forget her last day at the post office. I believe the panda's name is Bernard. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I can't wait to use you guys again. read more

I chose the mariachi chicken to surprise my sister in NYC on her birthday. Five stars for amazing customer service and great entertainment. We ordered a singing telegram for our boss for his birthday. I'd done this once before for a boss years ago, and had such a great experience with that one, we thought it would be fun. Pluses: They booked the order and got someone out within 24 hours. They were super professional on the phone. They made an attempt to comply with our character request. Minuses: The "slutty cheerleader" we requested was not really in costume, she performed for two minutes, and obviously did not prepare any material ahead of time. She attempted to tongue kiss my boss. He was not really into it. All in all, kind of a weird experience. Maybe I'm confused about what singing telegrams are. read more

I wanted to get my best friend something special for his first birthday in New York. We don't get singing telegrams in Australia. I searched and picked Big Apple Singing telegrams. Because of the time difference between Sydney and NY I had to order via email. Cody answered my emails so promptly and courteously. We organized payment over the phone and it was safe and efficient. Bernard turned up at my besties house and totally entertained him and the entire street. He really made this a birthday to remember ! Bernard is a great personality with a gorgeous voice. Thank you Bernard for getting the Neighbours to film it!! You are brilliant!! Will definitely use this service again!! read more

Michael Jackson just left the office! LOL! We got back at a co-worker who always orders the embarrasing singing telegrams for everyone in the office. I placed a call at 6:30 this morning, panicked because the guys decided to do this at the last minute. Leslie was super awesome she was professional and kind and picked up or promptly returned all 9000 of my calls. She was patient when we couldn't decide on a chicken or Michael J. Glad we picked Michael J. Bernard aka Michael was awesome he made it in the nick of time after taking a cab to go home to get his costume and coming back down to midtown. Even in our flustry panic mode he remained bright, calm and full of energy. We were elated when he started singing and could actually carry a note - he was over the top. Thanks for making our co-workers day AWESOME! read more

Thinking of the perfect surprise for my little sister who lives on the other side of the world from me (well it feels like that)...I was stumped. I can always do the go-to gift, gift card, edible arrangement, gift basket...But I wanted to pull something off that she will always remember. And wow, did Big Apple Singing Telegrams do the trick. I had no idea they even still did singing telegrams anymore. I was so happy I found them (Thank you Yelp!). John (owner) was great with the process from beginning to end. When I first called he was so helpful and so detailed on the service. He made it an easy decision to book. I went with Bernard, the Hip Hop Twerking Pink Gorilla and my only complaint was that I couldn't be there in person to experience with my sister! She absolutely LOVED it! Bernard is perfect for this, he really outdid himself. Hearing from her and seeing the video just reassured me that this was the right choice for her Birthday. Thank you Big Apple Singing Telegrams! You guys are fantastic, keep doing what you do!!!!! :) read more

I can't express my gratitude for the energy, commitment and enthusiasm that Bernard, dressed as a chicken in a tutu, exhibited while surprising my girlfriend in the Financial District in her office. I live in LA and ordered it from Cali. He was right on time and even had her participate. He went out of his way to personalize it even more than I had hoped. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! She felt how loved she is and it was because of your performance!!! http://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=youtu.be&v=4dnq7mwUUew&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3D4dnq7mwUUew%26feature%3Dyoutu.be read more

Big apple singing telegrams made it easy to book a Cher for a 50th birthday celebration. The Cher impersonator was on time, professional and made it an experience to remember! I hired Chris, the pink gorilla dressed as a tutu, to surprise a friend at a birthday dinner I could not attend. The videos people sent me far exceeded my expectations! The outfit was amazing, he was actually a really great singer, and most important (to me atleast) was that he made a fool out of my friend. "He stayed an uncomfortably long time," is how a friend described it. Exactly what I was hoping for. read more

Hello! Thank you so much Big Apple Singing Telegrams for three AWESOME performance we booked to a going away BBQ in my backyard in Astoria. The guests were a married couple moving away from NYC. We all pitched in and booked three performances in a row for a going away party and each one was incredibly unique. Jon (the founder) worked with me on how to escalate the fun with three performers, once every hour. We wanted to start from sweet and get to inappropriate and weird. I appreciate his flexibility and availability. This guy understands how to party! Lynn the Pink Gorilla was super sweet. She sang some Tina Turner songs and got our two guests of honor up to dance and sing. "Awwwws" and happy tears filled the air. Rated G for everyone An hour later Chris the man-baby came by and boy was he entertaining! Such confidence in his performance! I requested him to sing an Aerosmith song and he incorporated their names in the lyrics which was a nice touch. This was a brilliant 2nd act. Rated PG-13. And finally, oh boy... The Male Marilyn Monroe who was played by Luis. I'm not sure what word I can use. Insanely hilarious? You can tell this guy put a lot of thought into this. One of the most interesting acts I have ever seen. I have been to a few drag shows and I have never been so entertained. This was INSANE! The best part was him constantly and "accidentally" breaking the 4th wall pretending to be nervous. A genius, unique act. A tip for this one is don't introduce the act. Just let it happen. Rated M for Mature. Luis mentioned to me afterward that we were a very good and engaging audience and that's really important for these performers so if you decide to book a performer make sure a few of your friends are on in on it and PARTICIPATE! Don't be shy and give them permission to touch or sit on their guests because that's when the crying laughter comes out. I highly recommend! Consider the rules of 3 package! Thanks again Big Apple! read more

An amazing and fun service done well! This was my first time using a singing telegram. I wanted to cheer up a friend so i call Jon - who was very helpful, professional, and easy to work with, for same day service. He helped me pick out a character for the gift. Bernard, the actor, was interactive, funny and got the crowd going! Only wish i could of been there instead of watching the whole thing on video. Prices are reasonable, service is great! Well done!! read more

A group of us surprised our good friend with a singing old lady (Golden Girl) for her birthday. It was a bit challenging since we weren't exactly sure where/when our friend would be so we could tell the performer where to go, but Big Apple/New York Singing Telegrams was super accommodating and patient with us. The performer did a great job, totally surprising and embarrassing my friend (our intended goal). My friend also appreciated the card that the performer had printed out with our message. Heads up emails didn't seem to get to the team, but they always answered when I called so not a big deal. The service wasn't cheap, but it was worth it! read more

I needed a fun, embarrassing Valentine for my sweetheart and I got it. Bernard dressed up in a ballerina tutu costume and stripped out of a heart while singing to my boyfriend in front of his entire staff. He didn't sing too long so that people were "over it" and he was funny and appropriate, though still embarrassed my guy. After singing, he asked my boyfriend if he'd be my Valentine, which was a cute touch. He said yes even though I wasn't there. I loved watching the video others took for me!! Will definitely do this again! read more

Extremely happy with the valentine gorilla I sent to my fiancée. I called at 2pm and they had the gorilla at her office in full costume with balloons before 5. This was with them coming from Manhattan all the way to Long Island. They were extremely courteous on the phone and were able to schedule me, even after a Long Island company couldn't!! The performer was so friendly and warm and actually had an amazing voice. Definitely will be using this company in the future for other moronic ideas that I have. read more

Bernard the male hula dancer was beyond AWESOME!!!! He arrived promptly and was very patient while waiting for our birthday honoree to hang up from a last minute conference call.
