I forgot to order birthday flowers for my friend. On the day of her birthday, I called Big Apple Florist at 1pm and asked them if it was too late to have flowers delivered in the financial district by 4pm. They said "deliveries usually take about 3-4 hours, but let's give it a try". I was elated!!! The Birthday note said; I hope your year is as beautiful as these flowers, so the flowers had to be extremely beautiful.... They were! And they were delivered before 3:30pm. That is 5 star service at its best. Thank you for saving my arse. I sincerely appreciate it. read more

Service was fantastic! Their selection was beyond the norm and the value was also excellent. I highly recommend this florist. read more

I wish I could give this establishment 10 stars, and a special special thank you to Mr Vincent . I came to big apple Florist in search of flowers for a dinner party I am planning. Mr Vincent walked me through all the possibilities and prices. There is a huge selection/ variety of flowers to choose from. There's something there for everyone . The other workers were also a joy to meet . This place is warm welcoming and they get the job done at the precise timing you need. The prices are also a steal. You hardly find fresh flowers at a good price in the city anymore, but big apple Florist definitely has you covered. I will always return to big apple for my flower needs. Thank you . read more

Such a great florist! I live out of state and wanted to send flowers to a friend visiting NYC for her birthday. Sometimes it is hard to know if the product will turn out great and I can 100% say the flower arrangement I ordered is magnificent! Absolutely beautiful pink peonies - the phone call to order them was very easy and you can arrange any size you'd like! Very impressed and recommend this florist!!! Thank you. read more

I just want to take the time to say thank you for being able to create and deliver a beautiful arrangement of roses that my husband ordered ( I am sure at the last minute ha!) for my birthday during this Covid 19 crisis. I will definitely order many more flower arrangements from them. I hope you all stay well! read more

Another beautiful arrangement from Big Apple! Thank you Paul and staff for always making sure I am a happy customer. AMAZING! I had called in a last-minute order for a meeting through Paul (who was so patient, helpful and accommodating). They delivered earlier than expected. I had ordered blindly specifying only the colors and size of what we needed - the arrangements were gorgeous and everyone complimented on them. One of our clients even asked to take one home with her. read more

I ordered birthday flowers yesterday to be delivered the same day. It was already afternoon, but BAF said they could still deliver. The woman on the phone was so helpful when I was back and forth on which roses to choose from (tall and traditional or short and compact), very patient. I wish I had a picture of the roses, but from what I understand they were beautiful. Will use them again. read more

The proximity of Big Apple Florist to my wife's office was what attracted me to them initially. The quality of their product and their exemplary service is what has kept me as a customer. I don't send flowers often so when I do I want to be sure that what arrives is perfect and Big Apple never lets me down. Whether it's roses or mixed bouquets the flowers are always fresh and beautifully arranged. The reliability of their delivery service is excellent as well. So whether I'm in a bit of trouble with the old lady or I just want her to know I'm thinking about her Big Apple Florist is my first choice. read more

Just got flowers from a friend last week and was surprised / pleased that Paul called to see if I was happy with the delivery and flowers. I was indeed! So, good timing as I needed flowers for my dear boss, whose beloved Aunt had died. Paul was more than helpful and gracious and undersood what I wanted. The arrangement came this afternoon and the peonies are gorgeous! Will definitely use Big Apple Florist again. Thank you! Great customer service and flowers. read more

Yet another fabulous arrangement from Big Apple Florist! I have received and had flowers delivered locally and all over the country via Big Apple Florist. The recipients have always been delighted with their arrangements. The floral bouquets are unique and last for several days (please remember to add water when they arrive as per the instructions). The staff is most helpful and lovely to work with. They are most accommodating of special and/or rush requests. The online ordering system is very easy to use as well. I highly recommend Big Apple Florists. read more

I was sad to see that 2 out of the 3 "recommended" Yelp reviews were unfavorable. Big Apple is my new favorite NYC florist! Since moving our office to Midtown East, this has been my florist of choice. They have provided dozens of arrangements for our office, sympathy arrangements, and gifts for staff promotions/new hires/special events. I have been nothing but pleased with them. They have accommodated very last-minute requests, successfully treated an indoor corn plant that was not doing so well (our own fault), and have worked within all of my budget constraints. I give an enthusiastic recommendation! read more

LOVE THIS PLACE !! Let me start by saying that their customer service is amazing. I called to place in an order not sure what I wanted. The rep was very nice and sweet and helped me all the way through. The quality of the flowers are amazing. I sent flowers to my mom, and two days in they died. I called them and they immediately had them replaced and no extra charge. I love them. Will definitely use them again. read more

I just received a surprise floral arrangement from a friend who ordered it from Big Apple Florist. It is absolutely gorgeous! It's not just pretty flowers (which would still have been awesome) - it's stunning. Seriously. The staff in my building were all talking about it before I even picked it up! I will be ordering from Big Apple Florist from now on whenever I want to brighten someone's day. Highly recommended! read more

My husband and I used Big Apple Florist for the floral arrangements for our wedding last year and we could not have made a better decision. Lui Garing, their Director of Events, was so wonderful to work with and she made planning and executing our arrangements a complete breeze! She and her team were also able to accommodate a last minute decor request and we couldn't have had such a wonderful event without working with them. Our wedding was chosen to be featured in The Knot (print and online editions!), as well as insideweddings.com (see below). It was my first purchase with Big Apple Florist and I had a great experience with them. I ordered flowers online as a surprise bouquet for my mom who is retiring from her company after 44 years. My mom is an avid gardener, loves flowers, and I was intrigued by their online option called "Designer's Choice" where the florist designs the bouquet. I decided to go with this option and requested delivery by 11:30am. The delivery was prompt (they actually arrived 2 hours prior) and my mom loved the flowers. The flowers were fresh, great color selection, and she was very happy. All in all, a very easy and great experience. Thank you! read more

I ordered flowers to be delivered same day to hospital for a patient having surgery. The florist called the hospital directly to make sure they would accept deliveries and they made it to the right room even though one had not been assigned yet at the time I placed the order. The recipient raved about the arrangement and we'll definitely be ordering here in the future. read more

I received a low, dense arrangement with an assortment of 12 flowers nestled in a massive amount of greens. The next morning the flowers were wilted, even though the water level was only about an inch below the top of the vase. Large leaves placed around the inside of the vase obscured the stems. I went to pull out one of the flowers to recut the stem, and the entire arrangement fell apart all over my kitchen counter. To make a long story short, the vase was packed with leaves and then the flowers were inserted. The problem is, the stems of the flowers are only 2-3 inches long and do not reach the water, even when you fill the vase up as full as possible. It was impossible to put the arrangement back the way it came originally, so I spent 50 minutes putting the leaves and the flowers into two shallow vases I fortunately had, and had enough leaves left for three more drinking glass "vases", necessary because the stems were so short a regular vase is out of the question. Under no circumstances would I ever recommend this place and am phoning the secretary of the person who sent them to me to advise her not to order from them again either. In fact, it's my opinion this place owes the purchaser a refund, and they can never give me back the 50 minutes I had to spend trying to save what I could this morning. read more

Let me just start this review by stating that I have never posted a review online in my life, but I had such a horrible experience with Big Apple, I felt other potential customers should hear my story. After reading favorable reviews, I contacted Big Apple Florist to design the holiday decor for my home (Xmas tree, wreaths, table centerpiece, etc.) My husband and I own a global business and do a lot of entertaining in our home, so it is of utmost importance to us that the decor be immaculate. Everything started off beautifully; a designer came to my home, we developed a decor plan together that I was happy with, and initially everything they delivered was spot on. The problem came when my 10 foot Xmas tree, which was so full and gorgeous when they delivered it, dried up and died 10 days from delivery. Despite my watering it religiously, the tree was not drinking, and after less than two weeks was so dry it looked shriveled and the branches easily snapped. This occurred a few weeks before Xmas, so I called Big Apple and requested that they provide a new tree. I figured since my husband and I spent more than $3,000 with them for our holiday decor, that they would be glad to fix the problem. Unfortunately this was not the case. They wanted to charge me an additional $800 to replace the tree and redecorate the new one, which I told them I did not feel good about, and that they should be willing to stand behind their products that they deliver- if something is wrong with the tree (which obviously there was or there's no way it would have dried up), then they should replace it at their own expense. As the conversations progressed, the owner got involved and was very rude to me, and flatly accused me of not watering the tree and thus being responsible for the tree drying up. I'm sorry, but if it was my fault and I neglected to water my own tree, I would have happily paid for a replacement, but this just simply was not the case. Ultimately my husband had to threaten legal action for them to agree to replace the tree for free. Unfortunately they decided to bring me the worst looking replacement tree ever. It was thin and scraggly looking, with gaps between branches and a crooked trunk. Not at all near the quality of the first tree they brought. Had I been home when they delivered it, I would have refused the second tree and just called it a day. I hated the new tree so much that I took it down the first day I saw it. I thought my home looked better with no tree than with the dilapidated tree they brought. The worst part is is that I am sure they just gave me this tree because they were angry about replacing it at no cost, and they knew I would hate it. As a business owner myself, I would never in my life stoop below my own personal quality standards and purposely provide a client with a product I knew they would be dissatisfied with - even if I did think the client was in the wrong. Long story short, I feel like I was cheated out of $3,000. Even though the wreaths and other decor was beautiful, the Xmas tree was the most important element, and without that I was not happy with the overall effect. I have never been so disappointed with any vendor of any sort in my life. read more

I've had nice deliveries from here before, but not the last two times. The flowers were dead on arrival, they were not held in their arrangement and completely fell out of the vase (including water). It was more embarassing then pleasant to receive this. Never again. read more

I have had great luck with Big Apple for the past several years, and one big positive is how easy they make it to order -- I usually place phone orders and they are always friendly, and FAST! My latest Valentine's Day order, a custom arrangement ordered the morning before the 14th, took about 3 minutes and I had an email receipt by the time I hung up the phone. Great flowers, delivered on time. I've asked my girlfriend a few times if she likes their arrangements; she always tells me to stick with these guys, and I plan to! read more

We used Big Apple for our rehearsal dinner in November. Needless to say, it was the perfect finishing touch to the night. Our friends and family raved about the arrangements which were fresh, bright, thoughtfully & elegantly packaged, and simply the work of a world-class florist. ABSOLUTELY HORRENDOUS! All my boyfriend did was try to send me flowers for my bday - they sent the wrong arrangement, then they tried to send another bouquet to make up for their error and they messed that delivery up too. When they finally did get it right, they didn't have my full address info (missing the apt number which I had reconfirmed with the shop only hours prior) so they had to call me yet again. Overall, this place is AWFUL - AVOID AT ALL COSTS! read more
