There has been a lot of stress lately with several dealerships charging us for diagnostics, etc., but still having never-ending issues. I guess that's how dealerships work? I brought my XJ to them and thought the issue was the radiator fan, relay, or wiring because it's not spinning. I'm wondering how come Jaguar Calgary missed it during their inspection, since they had the vehicle for two weeks? Jayson and Damien did the impossible things that huge companies can't do. When I asked about my bill for the work done, I was shocked that it was reasonable and lower than what most dealerships normally charge me. My car sat at that shop for 3 months after they damaged the Holley Sniper. I asked for the inline fuel pump to be replaced and to redo the intake manifold because it leaked. I said put a 60psi inline pump on to replace the 60psi pump that was damaged. They put a 120psi pump on, which damaged the injectors by over pressuring the system. Then after that, a 100psi pump, because they didn't learn their lesson the first time. They claimed they had a mechanic that knew all about these TBI systems. He doesn't. At all. Anyway, they finally agreed to replace it. Three months later after much going back and forth, I finally got it back. Just a complete mess. The settings for the Sniper were largely incorrect. I was only getting fuel across the blades in 2 of 4 barrels. I returned the car and it sat for a week before I went back and got it, and they did nothing. I fixed that myself in 10 seconds. The fans, not connected to the Sniper, were set up in the settings as if they were. The IAC was not set up. The throttle/kickdown cables were loose as they didn't tighten the bracket. I fixed the issues myself in less than an hour. I still have more to check in the settings, as I'm sure I'm not done yet. They blew up the starter (which was new). They broke the sun visor off. They chipped and scratched the paint. They killed the battery (which was also new). And then to top it all off, their smooth brained secretary, Jason, loudly called me a crook in front of another customer and said I conned them into getting a new Sniper. This from a guy who told me the Holley was seeing my 350 as a 4 cylinder and that's why I wasn't getting fuel in all the barrels. They weren't supposed to touch the Sniper. If they had just put a 60psi pump on like I asked for, none of this would have happened. I spent $2500 in that shop, and I seriously regret it. This is not the full story, I could add to it. They put the wrong part in my car. Before I took it in, the ABS light was on. I thought I bought the right part for it. It was the front right ABS sensor. So I gave it to them to install & they installed it without confirming it was the correct part. They said they installed it & it all works, but the ABS light is still on. I don't call that fixed. They also charged me $35.00 / hr MORE than their regular labout rate of $115.00 because I supplied the part. Stay away from these guys! read more

I had a "replace battery" light on my dash for months as well as a recommendation (by the dealer) to flush my transmission fluid. Big Al's auto suggested that they check the fluid first to see if it actually needed replacing in order to rule out the idea that the dealer wanted to make $ from servicing. After a 5 minute appointment they determined the trans fluid was fine and one of my battery connections was loose. I was charged 0$ where I could easily see other businesses charging a minimum labor charge. I highly recommend Big Al's to anyone who wants honest and exceptional customer service! I had my brakes replaced all around including the rotors. They have a shuttle sevice from which I was able to get dropped off and picked up. The service was excellent and professional. I did come back the next day to get my backing plate adjusted and was brought in immediately and serviced right away. Thanks guys! read more

I don't even know how to begin to thank Al's Auto Service 1309 Caribou St West 306-631-2729 for their kindness and downright human-ness today. We're from the States and far far far from home when we broke down today in the middle of nowhere. Our Roadside Assistance was less than helpful and wanted to leave 3 of the 4 of us at the side of the road in the middle of nowhere (about 30 minutes outside Moose Jaw). We spoke to Chad and Al who drove out to get us themselves, then loaned us their vehicle for the night! Al gave us an unbeatable price for a pain of a repair and got working on it immediately knowing we needed to get home. I was crying earlier today in devastation and now for receiving generosity from absolute strangers. Our car isn't fixed yet, but I wanted to share our experience right away.
